Hi. I am an old hygienist who has not worked in years (spousal abuse). I have been asked to get my license to teach at a university. I am reviewing for state boards for Florida. I am really enjoying your presentations well done. Thank you for your clear presentations. You are inspiring me supporting my knowledge. Debra
Thank you for the kind comments. As a Dental Hygiene Educator for 18 years, these kind of comments still mean a lot. This video I made quite some time ago. I only wish I had time to do more. Good luck on your studies. You can do this! It's like riding a bicycle. If you are close to the Jacksonville, Florida Area, I would recommend that you take some courses to help you become an educator with Cindy Biron at Cindy@DHmethEd.com....(www.dhmethed.com/)...Good luck
The numbering sounds off to me considering this radiograph is on the right side.😏 Should start with 1,2,3.... from 3rd molar. I hope this video is rectified.
Dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last days =)
You look at the rankings from one side to another. You see that from right side to the left side of the video, it goes like canine, premolars and molars. That means its the right side (don't forget that that radiographs are takin from the dentist's perspective not the patient's)
Easiest for me is do a criss cross. If I touch the right side of my mouth it will be on the left side of the full mouth series. Or just visualize flipping the film so that it matches with your own teeth.
At 6:55 you said they are sick when the tooth is forming that they create an abnormality, but the tooth don't erupt/form/calcify at the same, how come they follow the same pattern on every teeth? Please reply, i am very interested with your videos. Thank you
At around 8 min in, are you sure that's #11? I see a third molar #3, then the bicuspids 4 &5 followed by #6 on the max. Then on the man I see #31, missing #30, 29 and 28 are bicuspids etc.
Doctor's need superheroes too, that's why there are us RDHs and RDAs. 😀 I may be one of the few male dental assistants in this world, but wouldn't change my career for the world!
Can a tooth with no carries have lucency at the apical root? My dentist says you have a lucency at the root of your tooth and it needs root canal therapy.
Ofcourse it can, even a small crack line can be a pathway for microorganismes to cause periapiacal infection, bacteria can also egress through lateral canals in cervical part that is not covered with cementum, after a trauma tooth became necrotic and potentially bigger risk of getting infected.
@@dr.benijaminkozica5703 I had a tooth with no pain but the dentist said i must take away the caries or it can get worse and maybe we can make a new filling , she drill the whole and say oh we need a root filling ill tell my colleague to book u an root fillin section in 1 month, now we make a temporary filling. And the tooth is aching and pumpin and i can barely eat, and i have 3 weeks left. is this normal or have she fucked me up? I think maybe its better to wait till u get the pain instead of going to this shitters. Same happen with another tooth on other side she said u maybe need a root filling but its better to fix now, she drilled so much and ask her colleagues to come and look, and they ask if i still want the tooth left, i said but i didnt have any pain in the tooth at all from beginning and i wanted to fix it because she said it needed fixing. she said okey okey then i get a temporary filling and have pain as fug on that side and i go back and say i cant eat and they have to give me a new temporary filling, so she said come in emergency and we change it to FUJI its harder. I come in and they fix that and say u need a root filling + crown! WTF???? She say its hard to read radiographic it can be deeper than it shows??? And now she made a hole between the tooth jsut for me to be abel to clean easier but all food get stuck.... its a fucking joke, cant believe i pay for that shit is it normal? now i lost 10kg in 6 weeks because i cant eat and i have to wait 3 more weeks to next apointment and she wont fix the tooth i need help with she take new ones because she dont do rootfillings wtf should i DO. WHy the fug do all dentist only want money? Where are the decent doctors?
@@GoJMe this is a normal thing to happen. x-rays s are 2d images of 3d objects, so things turn out to be different clinically than radiographically more often than we would like, but that is just the limitation of radiography. And for something to show up on radiographs, there has to be at least 30-40% of demineralization in the tooth structure. Anything less than that may not show up on the radiograph. So the infection could have reached the pulp with lesser physical damage and this may not show up in the radiograph but once you open the cavity, your dentist will look at the cavity and know that the damage is more than was evident in the x-ray and will suggest a treatment accordingly. once the infection has reached the pulp, unfortunately the only way to go is rct! sorry you had a traumatic experience.
