If so not by much, they keep their earnings hidden and seem to be taking measures to sorta up revenue numbers. Plus the current CEO has stated that they are not making money so they might just have enough to keep afloat for the time being. Then again unless they go public or shutdown there is really no telling, all we can do is calculate what we think they are making and spending.
I will say it's a misinformation as assistants don't actively record the surroundings to detect "Wake Words". This is typically done by the device itself in a passive state using low-power components like Digital Signal Processor (DSP) without actually recording or processing any audio signal.
That may be for another sort of AI assistant but an example is google Assistant that does not use this system and in fact even offers playback of what's recorded through the google home app. If you could link a source that I can look through that'd be awesome I do appreciate your input. :)
Amazing Video, super excited for the future. Was it just me or when the audio switched to face cam did the audio seem slightly too slow with what was being shown on video.
It's extortion. First, RU-vid put in a short delay before you could play the videos if you use Adblock. Then it became a longer pause. Then they completely blocked you from viewing videos unless you disabled Adblock (all the while, of course, offering the option to pay for Premium). Then when I disabled Adblock, they added in ads throughout the video. Next they started opening EVERY SINGLE VIDEO with an ad. Offering, again, their "solution" of paying for Premium. Next they started this nonsense where they play TWO ads back to back before the video starts playing, and you cannot fast forward through them. Always stupid ads for nonsense. But hey, you can upgrade to Premium! Now it's two ads before the video, several throughout the video, and one at the end. And it's a hassle because even the ads that allow you to skip after 5 seconds (that show up during the videos) - if you're not sitting at your computer at the time (I often listen with a headset while cooking, etc) - the ad will play for UP TO 40 MINUTES! So I gotta run back into the room to skip every few minutes. It's ridiculous. It's clearly a behavior-modification attempt at extortion. I clearly observed their increasing pressure to "upgrade".
All this shit boils down to is the hope some gullible and or desperate idiot out the will click on and buy in to whatever these ads are try sell... A shovelware mobile game, a miracle drug/solution to diet or some chronic health, a get rich quick scheme they don't even care if these ads give you PC or phone malware! They're banking on you being stupid... Does matter how many billions or trillions they and their shareholder make they just want more and will even bankrupt you to get it.
