I had loads of similar issues with a mazda 6 I once owned. It may not be the same cause for your problems, but mine turned out to be a corroded radiator.
my first ever experience of an ultra was the cotswolds in 2021 and i always wondered how you runners did it. it's kind of reassuring to see even you guys suffer but well done, great effort! I think everyone has the same feeling towards the endless stiles in the last bit
Awesome work mate, I did the same event and it was cool to re-live it through this video 💪🏼 It was my first, and that 50KM at the start was something aha.
Don’t let the negative echo chamber of social media comments put you off, if you’re respectful, don’t leave a mess and contribute to the local economy, which I’m sure you would, I doubt you’ll be on the receiving end of any negativity. Ignore the comments, go and enjoy it :)
How difficult was the care refresh process? I've heard stories of DJI Acting like an insurance agent, finding any reason they can not to honor their coverage. Of course I hear these things after paying for the service. But I've not yet needed to use it. Any pitfalls? Or ways you need to worry about getting screwed? What if I'm not recording video at the time of a crash?
In the USB C port, you need to activate the controller before the computer will pick it up as an input device. It will work with any mainstream simulator, I've personally used it with DRL Sim and TrypFPV. If you have the drone you activate the controller through the goggles. If you buy the controller before buying the drone you can activate it with DJI Assistant 2 For Consumer Series Drones Program.
shouldn't the switch from manual to sport mide put the drone in stabilized mode? Well, for manual mode real fpv, I will continue flying my 5" Tanq and geprc mk5. And use the Avata for cruising, DJI produckt are brittle thermoplastic things
If you get a *real* FPV drone with carbon frame then a crash like that would have been nothing, perhaps just the broken prop. The Avata is so fragile in comparison to regular FPV drones that once you're able to fly manually you'd be far better off buying a propper FPV drone than wasting your money on care refresh replacements for the Avata each time you have a decent crash.
The avata 2 is a horrible horrible drone for learning acro for two reasons. 1) It's really fragile 2) It's underpowered. And so those beginners that wants to do rolls and loops withint 5 minutes they put themselves in a situation they can't get out. But if it would have had more power they would have been able to get out of it. That's why nobody should learn acro on an avata 2. Just fly in sport mode, that's fun as well. Get something light and repairable to learn manual with. Get really good first, then slowly explore the limits of the avata 2 in acro.
If it says sensor error don't switch to a mode that needs sensors. Land it asap and inspect it. Clean censors, and do a full calibration on everything. Any problems should show up during calibration.
It happened to me twice to make me understand. After IMU or sensor error detected, NEVER CHANGE MODE TO NORMAL or SPORT mode, fly home and stay in Manual mode until land and restarting the drone to continue flight.
Yes you can do this super easy on any real fpv drone using the betaflight software. Too bad dji doesn't care about what you want 😂 you're locked into how dji wants you to fly their garbage.
you fuk your drone up day one lol lol Well bro you said you want to know what it feels like to fly in real life This is it bro welcome to FPV you made it lol. soon you will go fly and have 6 drones and come home with 0 working lol thats true flying lol
After the first impact, the gyros needed time to reset. If you switch outta manual mode during this time, the avata will go outta control. After minor impacts, fly home shut down, start up and you good.
You think the broken propeller and frame wasn't indication that it may have broken more or perhaps was enough reason to struggle to maintain balance? The height in minus level also was giving it away besides sensor warning, probably good lesson learned after any bump to land and inspect or fly/hover low to the ground. Sorry to hear but glad care refresh is painless and saves the investment. 😅
Geez…I never noticed the gum. I have the original Avata and was wanting to get the new one but after seeing how fragile the new one is, I’m having second thoughts.
It's too bad they produced such a fragile product. Lots of other options out there on the market. And with firmware like Betaflight or Inav you can start out using angle mode which is much easier than acro and progress over time.
The googles that you have are fine but DJI drones are junk one little crash sets you back order a carbon fiber frame racing or freestyle drone that has a compatible DJI Air Unit an get back to flying! Save the Avata 2 for when you get good!!!
Okay, glad you got to narrate your flight, but when people crash, I never understand why with the struggles, and discomforts you mentioned, why didn’t you just slow down and be more precisely practiced with your moves?
This is pretty much how I crashed mine ! I was under the impression you could switch from M back to Normal and the drone will Stop ! This is obviously not the case because mine did what yours did and smashed in to ground and broke.
Lets not be discouraged. FPV = plenty of crashes. Care refresh is a MUST! And we need to keep in mind the emergency pause button, not the switch. After few hours in simulators, have some flights in real life without any stunts because we tend to become over confident. First flight in manual suppose to be a normal flight just to get the feel of how drone react. Then back to sim. So first few days with the Avata, no stunts! Build properly your muscle memory in simulator, you will know when you're ready. Its painful to see professionals in action and not being able to do the same but ask them how many times they crashed or how many times they tried to get the best shot. Its hard but its rewarding! I think patience and resilience is the key here.
My low buget drone from Aliexpress for 100€ (3inch Cinewhoop) has already seen several crashes that were much worse than yours, but my drone is still intact 🤔🤣
I felt every second of your flight and it made me stressed as much as you ! You did quite well for a 1st full manual flight in real life. After flying Mavic Air, M3P and M4P, I got the Avata 2 and started learning on uncrashed simulator.... I have not flown it yet in real world in accro mode.... That's why I was feel fully empathic with the way you did it. My learning curve is not that fast and I always feel astonished whenever I see freestylers or racers going at full speed with such an incredible virtuosity. Anyhow, care refresh is here to repair our noobs mistakes. I really found that you managed quite smoothly with nice turns and keeping steady low. After repair, you'll be good for many other go ! Happy flying and thumbs up to you !
Nice video, it's fun to watch you slowly getting better!! I'm currently flying my Avata 2 and am also very unsure. However, I have something to criticise about your microphone. Unfortunately, it sounds very unpleasant to listen to you smacking your lips while chewing the gum.
It was a really good first flight in manual mode. If only you had landed after the first impact directly tho. Beside that you did a awesome job flying that avata 2 👍👍
😂😂 "my legs are shaking" couldn't stop laughing when you said that as I know the feel first time flying my avata 2. It got better after a pack or 2 lol.
Pleased I didn't go the DJI route. I am flying analogue ELRS. If it makes you feel any better, I changed controllers and my muscle memory from the old controller to put into air mode was where the disarm button is on the new controller... Disarmed it a fair few meters up and crashed. Interestingly I have crashed my DarwinFPV Cine25 twice now fairly hard and only had to replace a rubbing motor. I think if you hadn't had DJI you wouldn't have crashed so bad, as the safety net made this crash happen. Weird it broke so badly just on grass!
@@Sk8WineMedia as it stands the new goggles and controller are not compatible with the O3 air unit, so I’m a bit stuck until they make them compatible or release the O4 air unit
