LAFC has an open DP slot. They wouldn't need to "cheat" to get Griezmann. Unlike Chiellini, he isn't going to sign for a TAM deal. He'll be a DP. They won't have to do any shady things to fit him within the cap.
And there is a salary floor. Teams must spend 95% of the salary budget and GAM. The salary floor is ~$7.7 million this year and will rise to ~$10.5 million by 2027.
I don’t watch the Euro leagues much, so that format didn’t interest me. I’ve gotten into the Liga MX after seeing their teams so much, so I like this format. It doesn’t need to be serious though. I’d like to have both sides having a good time in a high scoring affair. MLS always had something to prove, but there isn’t much that separates the leagues anymore, so just treat it as a goodwill match between the two leagues. I like the idea of using the old MLS PK format.
