Henry Herbert Tailors is a scootering tailor service in Savile Row London. We make bespoke shirts, suits, wasitcoats and overcoats. We use our fleet of Vespas to meet clients, wherever and whenever is good for them. We bring with us our measuring tapes, fabrics, chalk and pins. And if our scooters don't get us there, a train, plane or automobile will! Henry Herbert Tailors, Savile Row by scooter.
This was the 3rd video I watched trying to figure out what each measurement meant. Wish I started with this one. I thought you measured the shoulder across the front, good to know you do not. 👍
Having now watched the greatest ever TV series in its entirety multiple times on dvd, I am struck by the ' I mean business ' buttoning of the jacket when any visitor enters each of the principals offices. I'm a Brit and one of my favourite music videos on RU-vid is 'move it' by cliff Richard -a TV appearance from 1960- and he does exactly the same at the beginning . This performance was the coolest he ever got...
If i'm not mistaken most classic tailoring cutting books pre 1980s were published in imperial measures( Inches). Remember this is a tradition passed down through many years. Maybe in large clothing manufacturing metric is more preferable but bespoke measures traditionally are taken in inches.
@@maltabbey4948 I've seen some clips of the comedy panel shows like 8 out of 10 Cats, or Would I Lie To You and I think one of the guys mentioned he was like 5'7" instead of saying 170cm. And in another show I believe I heard them talk about either driving distance or speed in miles/mph, instead of kilometers. It was weird to me since these weren't really for American audiences.
One formerly asked which side the man dressed himself. Important for trouser comfort. The model does not seem very friendly or willing. The tailor is charming and thorough.
