MarcoNegrisEye. I hope you get to read this. This is a difficult world to live in. I love the escapism of programmes like Knightmare and I still watch videos of it on here. I miss my childhood and would be happy to go back to the 80s and live there like the guy in Ready Player One. That's a great film. It's telling us that we only have reality. We can't go back. We have to keep going. We have the here and now. We might fear the future but we can change things and make the future better. Children today are growing up with technology. We have invented most useful gadgets already but landlines have changed into mobiles and we are bombarded with Internet info and cyber bullying, which we didn't grow up with. Don't give up. There is always hope. Knightmare was made possible by advancement in technology. We need to keep the 70s and 80s memories alive. By the way, I think Richey is alive. Take care.
growing up in north england as a kid watching this in the morning and anime was BLIZZZ. Britain failed to make total whip out gold like this was. they always make this too personal and serious.
Really enjoyed this, thanks, must have been a lot of work to dig out so many variants of some of the games. I feel like I've spent weeks/months of my life watching Takeshi's Castle on Challenge (with Craig's wonderful commentary obviously - episodes without him are just nowhere near as good). But despite that, I was surprised by quite how many of these I'd not seen. Incidentally, that 'single rolling roller' game has to the single hardest game in TC, it basically looked impossible and I don't think I ever saw anyone get even close to completing it!
too hard for me to just do ten for all retro systems.... that is an impossible list for me i loved so many games over the years so breaking it down 10 for each system (that i actually played )) NES 10. Faxanadu 9. SNK All Stars Baseball 8. Gun Smoke 7. Fester's Quest 6. Final Fantasy 5. Mike Tyson's Punch Out 4. Battle of Olympus 3. The Guardian Ledgend 2. Zelda 2: Link's adventure 1. For me it’s Avalanche, really comical when the contestants got sent tumbling down the hill after getting hit by the boulders. In one episode they sent 7 to 8 boulders down the hill all piled up, made laugh so much with along with Craig’s commentary as usual.
Blind folded square maze, Sumo Rings in general were the most unique game in takeshi's castle history Where even the guards were clueless. Unpopular opinion: Best version of Honey comb maze was the ones where there was a child(in parents-kids version)/general lee guiding up the contestents.
@@officialbackintheday For me it's Fish Food. Extinction, And Corn Cob Trip (I just don't like Mushrooms) Wipeout, And Skipping Stones were close tho.
Super Mario Bros 3 is my favorite video game of all time and is the best platform and old school game. There was nothing like it when it came out. It set the bar so high and set the standard for how a video game should be made.
Craig Charles just making stuff up when he wasn't sure justmade this show extra great. Also as a teen when it aired; some of those innuendo game names just made me laugh before the contestants even appeared lol And of course the ultimate shin shredder had to be up there
Impossible to state the love I have for this show and its importance in my desire for perpetual youth. Great documentary and magnificent programme. Thank you
Love this show. Knew Beat Takeshi from his movies as I used to stay up late and watch them on Channel 4 so later in my teens when I found out about this show from a work collegue I thought it can't be the same dude as it sounded outrageous but it was. lol Of course that was when it first aired so I now know Takeshi started as a comedian before becoming an actor. Recommend Asakusa Kid if anyone is interested in Beat Takeshi life story (*albeit not his full life story but still a fun watch).
It really is a basic bitch opinion, but Knock Knock and Skipping Stones are just the best. The sheer speed and danger contestants put themselves in (as opposed to the game putting them in danger) is amazing TV. Bunch of wazzocks!
As a kid I used to get up at like 3am to watch it on challenge on our big TV downstairs, but couldn't put sound on so not to wake my parents. This meant I never experienced Craig Charles calling everyone a wazzock for ages, but boy did it make rewatching the show with sound an entirely new adventure. No.1 for me will always be Knock Knock, so funny to me how full of energy they were to plow straight into a solid wall/paper door/net
Absolute madlad. Huge work, thank you for making and sharing. The standard showdown would be quite high on the list for me, but mostly because it had the music from the original theme tune of the show.
I remember watching the ones with Craig Charles doing the narration, but which one had Brian Blessed dressed up as a robot samurai? I like to imagine he did so unprompted and started calling himself Kabuki Brian just because he could.
This show holds a massive place in my heart. My grandparents let me watch it when I went over to the UK, both of them recently passed so it always reminds me of them
