My name is Cheyenne, I am a Detribalized Native artist from San Francisco, now living in the gorgeous Forest of Dean in the United Kingdom.
During the pandemic, my mother passed down her wisdom of beading to honor our indigenous heritage and keep this art form alive. We use very small beads called seed beads and weave them into earrings, hatbands, bracelets, and countless other applications.
This has been the most healing craft for me, guiding me through tough times and providing a creative avenue for expression. It takes time and focus, both are too often neglected in this technological age. By dropping into the flow state, you engage your brain and offer space for deep thought.
This art form is for everyone and it is my passion to make beadwork accessible to anyone who’d like to try.
Thanks for sharing! I knew how to do this but forgot how and needed a refresher! I’d really like to do an entire bracelet in brick stitch but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it done before. You just don’t drop the beads when beginning the additional rows right? Again, I appreciate this reminder, it brought everything back to me! Excellent tutorial!
I love beading, but I'm going blind so threading needles regardless of the special needle threading tools out there is hard. Worse is not being able to see thread bridges, counting over to the correct bead on small beads is impossible. However, it dawns on me that I might be able to create something with these pony beads. I loved your video.
ty so much ahhh!! I spent hours making myself a kandi design just to realize it didn’t work with the even peyote stitch. i was SO confused this video is an absolute lifesaver
Is there somewhere i can buy the extra large beads and needle? I'm new to beading and this would be great for practicing before trying with the smaller beads!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Do you have a tutorial on how to thread through the brass connector that is shown in the beginning that looks like a rainbow? I can’t figure out how to get the beads not to droop
I couldn't deal with having beads in twelve different locations. I have one cabinet that's just beads and all other doodahs are in other drawers and boxes etc.
this looks so cool!! 👀sadly I don’t have a tablet. My landlord was able to get an earring image onto my desktop computer’s Paint program, but couldn’t get the colors in it. I was eventually able to do it myself but it took an incredibly long time. 😞
I love your beading space! Can’t wait to set mine up. I know you said that you got your wooden cubbies from IKEA but I was unable to find the exact ones. Do you by chance know what they’re called? Those seem perfect for all of my beading stuff.
tysm for the easy tutorial! (*whispers* was i the only one that pressed pause cause i coulda swore i heard police sirens but it was coming from the video 😂😂)
Hiya :) I’ve got slower beginner stitch tutorials like this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bDTniq62tdA.html Otherwise, you can use the settings icon to watch in a slower speed :)
Can you tell me the names of the colors of beads used here and the ones at the first...pink and yellow and orange and turquoise. Were they opaque?.I want to find these colors. I love the combinations and they are so bright.
