Once you start adding all "new" stuff to a CLASSIC car, it is forever RUINED. A 1966 Goat NEVER had a 455 engine, or a T10 trans or 4 wheel discs, side exit exhaust....etc..etc...No longer a 1066 CLASSIC.
I was a Ford Technician in 85, 86 & 87. Dealerships stressed Quality Control, which meant that cars were driven twice after repairs were completed. I was low man there & wind/water leaks were my thing, which necessitated driving a lot of 5.0’s. Great times
My 71 Super Beetle went EVERYWHERE. On road, off road, through snow and ice, rain. From the mountains to the ocean, like I said it went EVERYWHERE. It was a Great little car.
One thing I've noticed is some older 911's have weird paddle shifters where this one doesn't. Do you know the reason behind this? Maybe they changed it after a certain year.
This one is the sport design wheel. The other one you are taking about has the up and down buttons on each side of the wheel. Sports design wheel is an option
@@_911r Thank you for your response. I have a 65 coupe with a 496 and it trucks up to and past 200 and I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what’s going on.
Is there a way to fix the jumping tachometer? I replaced mine, but I heard it's either a weak magnet or there is some kind of fluid in the odometer that is supposed to dampen the movement. I don't know what is the truth.
I wonder who did the aftermarket AC install. Because of who owns the car, I am assuming the AC installation is appropriate for a collectable. Being able to install a reasonable AC system on a car that originally had no AC could open up possibilities for old car purchases.
@@tomkatinokla1 Good evening Tom - In the last 40 years I have had a couple of aftermarket AC installs were not fitting of a classic car, though they did work.
According to the words of Peter Zimmermann's book 'THE USED 911 STORY', ...."ah Finally! Porsche builds their first 10" (referencing the 1973.5 CIS). And of course the CIS system proved so reliable that it would go on and be the standard for Porsche for the next 10 years. I am a super fan of the 1973.5 "T" last long hood built and ONLY one to come with CIS. Thanks guys, interesting discussion. Michael in TX.
