I absolutely admire and respect that man, but I absolutely dont believe that they used a drum loop in tomorrow never knows because ringo couldnt keep time with that very inventive, but simple drum pattern. If thats true, it was because he was probably very drunk and high. Ringo was capable to keep time with much more complex things in much more adverse circunstances. Listen to the anthology 1 version of roll over beethoven, ther live at the star club recording, the bbc recordings, the live at the Washington coliseum concert, "Red Hot"...besides, Ringo is well known time keeper, hes known as a human metronome, something that not even his "enemies" can denie. Its way harder to keep the absolutely perfect time he kept in Revolution than in Tomorrow Never Knows. They problably decided to use a drum loop to create that cyclic and hypnotic sound, and Geoff just didnt remember well, since it was so long ago and they just did that song for some days or weeks, and nobody ever played it again.
I can not believe Maca would agree to go to a toilet like Lagos knowing the risk of dealing with those people. Probably the dumbest thing he will ever do.
Particularly interesting when they start talking about the '94 sessions and the song that ended up being released November 2023 - "Now and Then". Emerick obviously didn't think much of it, or that it was an actual song. Another example of the importance of Paul's dogged commitment to getting it completed.
He didn't answer the question of who was the most avante guarde. He slipped by that one. He said that Paul was a prefectionist, and a very musical guy. And, John was a "that's good enough" kind of guy. Those answers did not answer that question. The interviewer didn't call him on that slippery response.
I think it’s a fairly relaxed interview. It’s not as if he’s giving testimony in a court. he provide some interesting insights from a unique perspective.
If you are any where near Berlin Boro and haven't seen the band play here, you are really missing out on top quality musicians playing in a really intimate venue. And there's always some new twist to shows you have already seen! Get out and support these wonderful bunch of people!!!! You will thank me and then yourself!!!
If you get a chance to see this band do ANYTHING, you will consider yourself a very lucky human being. Top notch talent in a very intimate setting. But this is def one of my favorite shows and i'll be there for the umpteeth time. Graham has a wonderful sense of time, humor and passion for the music he is presenting that makes the night so very enjoyable!!!
What Graham and the guys do on a weekly basis is an amazing feat. The near perfect and fantastic presentations of some of the most loved music of our time. I feel genuinely lucky to know these wonderful people. I recommend a visit to Berlin Boro to see what a great place The Vault is. I hope to support this great venture for many years to come.
