How many of those waiting are third world immigrants who bring absolutely nothing to this country. I've made it known to my family that my organs won't be getting donated to anyone for that reason
I have withdrawn my consent to organ donation....at least i think i have ! Just got a letter from NHS saying that i'm not on the 'organ donation register' but that it's not the same as registering a decision not to donate. What does that mean ? Is it possible to have two contradicting opinions about something ?

I'm Black and I donated a kidney to my brother in 2019, and we're both doing great! Honestly, if you have access to an experienced and thoughtful donor program and an established team of healthcare professionals, for most people it's much like getting any other major surgery. Honestly, I imagine giving birth is probably more complicated and stressful. I got Shingles a few years ago and that was FAR more painful, stressful, and debilitating than recovering from the kidney donation. I was back at work within four weeks and up and back to my regular life in six. It's such a wondeful thing you can do, especially for someone close to you. And if you can find a good healthcare center and donation team, it's practically routine for them. Very few complications!
I m from Pakistan and have no whatsoever connection with NHS i think organ donation should be promoted but that's wrong that instead of opting in you have to opt out from organ donation that's cruel because many people won't have awareness before death to opt out from organ donation they wouldn't know they have to sign a form so that their organs are not taken away
i've had 2 cornea transplants this year and both have rejected due to having rheumatoid arthritis ... now a days it's artificial corneas but they have a success rate equivalent to a donor cornea.. in my case mi e have rejected because my body isn't suppressed enough but artificial corneas have the same success rate as donor corneas

No, a lung transplant is if someone is already dead. Example, if a healthy person dies in a car crash and there organs are intact, they can be donated to help people. They aren’t just gonna take a healthy person and sacrifice them.
