Welcome to the first of two RU-vid channels for award winning photographer, video, and virtual reality producer, #ChrisOwenHalper. This channel will host adventure sports, travel, and technology... with a smattering of personal interest.
Channel two (RU-vid.com/@DoingDisneySolo) is an outlet for Chris' reviews and advice for Disney theme parks, including 8K 3D Virtual Reality videos.
Please upload an alternate version without the additional windows, that would be so great. This is already really awesome but the added windows break immersion so badly for me.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the suggestion. It was not my original plan to add the picture-in-picture effect. I should have adjusted the exposure during recording to more accurately reflect the experience of being there. The human eye still sees a surreal light and 360 degree sunset effect. Since I did not adjust the camera, the VR footage is just 3-minutes of black that I think would be too boring for an audience to sit through. Before I consider uploading another version of this, I have two other solar eclipse videos on my channel. Take a look. I hope that may satisfy your immersion experience. Try this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2VTLUZ1jqhA.htmlsi=8zuShAPFDv5hz9GT
Hello and thanks for tuning in. If you are watching in a VR headset, the entire eclipse and experience was recorded in 180 degree 3D video. If you look up, you can see the sun as if you were there. I added the close up of the sun to make it more interesting. However, you can ignore that and look up in the sky to see the eclipse.
@@ChrisOwenHalper I see, so I assume the picture was there just to show in the video. I sort of visualized that you would be looking up at the sun and around like a person would see while watching a VR game, but probably an oversight on my part.
@@drde4010 You are not wrong. You can look around. I was just worried that people would get bored during the 3-minutes of black (except for the small eclipse in the sky). I added other photo and video I took for a 'closer' look. What device are you watching on. Did you use your mouse on computer to move the image? Or tilt your mobile phone to look around?
@@drde4010 I've never tried the PSVR but have heard good things. Can you watch RU-vid VR videos on the PSVR? I hope you can try that and enjoy the video.
Thanks for this video, my mother wasn't able to come with me because she sadly has cancer, and I was planning on recording the eclipse with my Samsung Gear 360 camera but of course the full battery died in time-lapse mode...
@@ChrisOwenHalper Cool thanks I appreciate it, yeah I was planning on doing a time lapse of the partial eclipse and switching to real time for totality, but despite having full bars after an hour and a half the battery died, sigh, thanks Samsung, am I right? I went to Indiana because of the historical cloud cover average and I'm glad I did since Texas got rained out l, it was the most amazing experience ever definitely worth the over priced hotel. Did you notice the cool light ripple effects on the ground as totality came by the way?
Hello Again. I uploaded two new videos from the April 8 2024 eclipse. I hope you can share this with your mother. You should find them on my channel page, but let me know if you need links.
Thanks again for the comment. I appreciate it. I did record yesterday’s eclipse. I hope to upload in virtual reality in a few days. I hope you will enjoy when it’s ready.
Thanks for watching and your comment. There was no ‘real’ audio recorded while on location. I had to create it all from sound effects. I had just finished editing a yoga video and thought I’d try adding the chill music while I was adding the birds and wind sounds. I’m pretty sure it’s not as bad as krowds of screaming ppl though. 😮 I just recorded yesterday’s eclipse. I will keep your advice in mind while editing that.
Halo dan terima kasih telah menonton video kami. Ya, gubuk itu jauh lebih besar daripada yang terlihat dari luar. Ini pengalaman menginap yang luar biasa. Hello and thank you for watching our video. Yes, the hut is much larger than it appears from the outside. It was a wonderful stay.
The AI features continue to work upon leaving the USA. I also discovered you can enable the features by using a VPN with a USA location when you install the Meta View app.
As an annual passholder, who comes to the resort, once a week, I will never do a Run Disney, based on what I saw on your video. Too crowded. Walkers are not staying on the ride, some people going the opposite direction on you and/or run across in front of you.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. RunDisney is certainly not a race to set a personal best. You should expect to stop for many photo opportunities. With that said, I am a slower person and in a later corral. You should still manage your expectations with many beginners, but you will have faster/more-experienced runners at the front if you qualify for a faster corral.
Thanks for watching and thanks for making a comment. I did not expect improved performance from this item. I can't say it was a wise decision, but I bought it for cosmetic purposes. It certainly does enhance the bike and I get many positive comments. With that said, AbsoluteBlack only claims that the Hollowcage is the quietest on the market. What do you think is 'crap' about it? I can make some observations and get back to you.
Sent this to some other family members and most of us are out of shape, some like me severly. But we love Disney. This video inspired me to make a goal of doing this next year. Thank you for posting!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the touching comment. I am certain you can get through the 5k with a smile. And... if you train/prepare, you'll think it's easy. You'll get hooked and be signed up for the 10k before you know it. :-) I really hope to see you at the finish line. Trust you can do this!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. The bomb was part of a limited edition Fallout boxed set. www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/07/23/the-fallout-anthology-stuffs-series-39-entire-pc-library-into-a-nuke.aspx
Yes, actually. The one in this review lasted 4-years. Nothing broke and I could have kept wearing it, but that is a good life for a bike helmet and it was time. I purchased a new one as replacement in August (3-months ago).
Also... if you are not picky about colour, you can go to the Smith Optics website anytime of year and check their clearance. You can get this helmet in orange for 50% without a Black Friday sale.
@@ChrisOwenHalper thanks, I can pick up the white one for €108. This was partly why I was interested. I am not paying 250 for a bike helmet. But I'll check it out anyway
Hello and thank you for the comment. I am personally a 3D, VR, and 360 enthusiast. I think if you've been bitten by the bug with a good first immersive experience, you keep looking for more. With that said, 360 video requires effort on behalf of the audience. The audience must actively participate or what they see may not be relevant. For example, someone could spend an entire video looking in the wrong direction at nothing in particular. That may sound like I am accusing the audience of being lazy, but there is a time and place for each genre. Traditional 2D videos are ideal if you want to give the audience a fixed story they can consume passively. For this video in particular, there were already ship tours that gave a good, selective overview to anyone interested in Antarctic cruising in general. I think my video fills a secondary role where someone is specifically considering the Ultramarine. 360 video gives that audience the ability to see everything about the ship. Does that make any sense? Thanks again for reaching out. I will definitely check out your videos now. 🙂
@@ChrisOwenHalper Thank you for your insight on 3D content. I agree with everything you mentioned. I fell in love with VR when we purchased an Oculus VR. I was looking everywhere for VR videos that were interesting. I will try uploading a 360 video on our next cruise to see the response. Are there any other VR platforms you recommend or upload to?
@@thankfuljourneys As an early adopter, I uploaded to a number of platforms when content was weak. Veer, InceptionVR, and others. Production standards have improved. I don't know if my early productions would qualify now... and that is a good thing overall. I encourage you to try. Let me know if you get anything published.
The smartphone app is a useless gadget. This is terrible value for the money. Buy a Lezyne for less than half the price, better batttery life and even more powerful. Garmin systematically overcharges for what they have to offer and their customer service is absolutely garbage (from own experience: I have a Garmin GPS that I bought heavily discounted). Do not fall for the brand name BS.
not good, I'm currently facing an issue with my Engo 2 device where the display appears blurred. The numbers on the screen are visible, but they are not clear, making it uncomfortable to use. Unfortunately, the Engo 2 does not have a "focus" option in its settings that could potentially resolve this issue
after two months Engo 2 glasses became useless garbage for $330 (stopped charging) ... customer service does not exist, as probably their warranty .... you do not believe ? buy
mine last 4 long runs (a month). Stoped charging. Now I recieved the replacement and they sent me the "enterprise" for indoor use. Back to the Return table !!!!
I hope garmin will release an updated version of this lamp. It would be perfect, using it in auto-mode, if it wouldnt drain the battery so quickly. I also heard that it is not possible to recharge the lamp with a powerbank while using it. That's a huge bummer and excludes it for many rider types that go beyond 3-4 hours and wouldnt mind to carry a powerbank. Battery life and charging behaviour are the only reasons why i didnt buy this light. Hope garmin listens and does an update so i can complete my setup with 1030+, varia and UT900?
Since you mentioned “Varia”, do you mean the Varia Vision heads-up display? If so, you should be aware that the Varia Vision does NOT work with the Edge 1040 (or any Garmin with the new operating system). I was very disappointed by Garmin’s decision to not support the Vision anymore. So, stick with the 1030 as long as you plan to use the Varia Vision.
Can i connect the kickr climb to my garmin 530 head unit? I dnt use swift but i do ride some of my outdoor routes inside by pairing my garmin to the wahoo kickr, so how would i also connect the climb to the garmin route or is this bot possible?
Hello and thanks for the question. I did not know the Kickr could simulate rides from a Garmin. So, my answer is theoretical and untested. My understanding is the Climb connects to the Kickr to get its information. For example, Zwift tells the Kickr it should simulate an 8% hill with resistance, and the Kickr tells the Climb to simulate an 8% hill with elevation. If that information is accurate, anything your Kickr does should follow on the Climb… even from a Garmin. The Climb also has a wired remote control that will reach your handlebars. Less than ideal, but you can set an angle for training if you need to simulate a long and consistent climbing position.
@@ChrisOwenHalper thanks for reply, yeah the kickr can actually sync routes from a garmin, i can ride a komoot or strava route indoors via my garmin, ive even plotted Alpe d'huez on komoot and ridden it indoors on the kickr, give it a try 😎
Cool video, the audio is very quiet tho in comparison to other shorts so I'd up it in editing by a good 40% Just a tip. Keep it up dude, nice hiking videos 👍
I have not yet checked to see if this works with my newer Garmin Edge 1040. I suspect not since that had a new operating system and doesn’t event support legacy Garmin devices. If it does not work, I’d be willing to sell. I am traveling at the moment. Make another comment in a month if you don’t find elsewhere. Maybe we can make it work.
@@doubleHLabs Hello. Were you still interested in getting a used Humon Hex? I have started running/cycling for the season and I haven't added it to my routine. I'd be willing to send it for the cost of shipping only.
@@ChrisOwenHalper kinda of, I'm actually looking for the bsx insight. I was actually able to talk to the developer on that product, and it would be much easier to reverse engineer.
