We have a local brand in the PH customized that same board. Packed switches is Outemu reds and they include double shot PBT none shine through keycaps. And the best part is it's VIA compatible. All for 42 USD. Great price for starting out
Got down the rabbit hole as well... Only just slight though, since I'm an ISO user keychron was my first built (a Q1). I modded with extra foam on the bottom case, Keychron K pro red switches came prelubed and I liked that feel and sound after modding. Since I'm an ISO-BE user, I only had some options for keycaps. But the PBT ones I bought were good, although they backspace and the spacebar sounded quite hollow. So there I modded those with some foam and tape. And now it's my daily driver. It's silent, creamy, feels pleasant to type on. Next project is a Q3, with Gateron Milky Yellows. What I also want to try is a budget keyboard I can fully mod; but that's ISO. The only problem is that the boards I'm looking for are often out of stock, or just plain don't mention ISO support or just outright don't have it. I know, ANSI won the race or something, but... a lot of countries in the world use ISO, so, yeah... But it is what is.
I'm in an ISO country as well and really wish there were more ISO boards out there. I've fallen for 96% keyboards and need them to connect both to my desktop and work laptop so I've got basically nothing but Keychron to go to.
I've been down the rabbit hole for years now, but it's always great to see newbies come into the hobby. I suggest NOT diving too much into it because it may take over your life... lol. It is really satisfying to mod a keyboard and end up with something really nice. Right now is an amazing time to enter the hobby though, because there are so many great keyboards for lower prices. When I started, it was heavily modding crappy keyboards and now you can buy one for the same price that's great right out of the box! I also learned an AliExpress tip from MechTech Keyboards where you can get a Zuoya GMK series keyboard for a lot less using the Super Deals section. if you search for a popular board enough, they start appearing there and you can get some great deals. My last GMK67 was purchased for $17.99 USD. Good luck and happy keyboarding!
Sound of those keys is very satisfying. What impressed me though was the increase in typing speed. I’m doing a lot of writing at present and being able to get ideas down quickly is pretty important. Great video, mate. You should do more stuff like this
I was shocked at how much the keyboard world has advanced. I've had a GMMK Compact for years but the stabilizers are so rattly and felt terrible. I saw a random YT short about a Yunzii board and bought one within 5 minutes of watching it, something I never do.. but I'm glad I did. $56 shipped for a great sounding and feeling board with their $5 clipped and lubed stabilizer service can't be beat. Even the factory lubed switches feel great. My GMMK was getting on my nerves. Now, I can finally mod it on my own time, without worrying about not having a board to use.
Well done, much more comprehensive and in depth attack at a faded photo than the quick and easy approaches of other tutorials , although they are in themselves good for that: Yours shows very finite and incremental correction methods, that I believe would go extremely well with a voice and slightly slowed down tutorial. Please consider it. :)
This is a really good video Count. I really do believe that happiness can come from the little things. One thing I've learned in the last few years, being in recovery, is that gratitude is so important. We all have days when it's difficult to focus on the good stuff but then...you pick up a favourite book and read a passage that you like, or you get a nice message from someone or, even a stranger smiling at you..these little things can make all the difference and remind you that there is beauty in the world, even when it's hard to see it. Oh and thanks for a fun podcast today. Enjoyed you and Joe's company :)
Lucas_8073 Don’t stress about it. These things happen when you least expect it. Just be yourself. You’d be surprised how many people will like you, and...
What I want to know is when you’ll be buying an eight track player? 😉 When I was growing up, my neighbour actually had one of those in his car. The cartridges were huge.
There is a LOT more detail to this LEGO town than one can see upon initial observation. I think you've done a phenomenal job with this; a true labor of love. :)
Well I did give up the master bedroom of the house for it :') The red is very nice, there's a fair bit of blue in there too so you get purple from some angles.
Thank you very much for your kind words, very nice of you. If you do like the content I make then please consider subscribing and sharing, it helps much more than it seems. :)
Basically. The White & Black one you shown is the very high quality type cube you can get here in the UK. The other ones, like the black & red one you shown shouldnt even be sold! They are terrible. It's well worth paying £20 or whatever the price is for the more expensive one! They last! Good video.
