I think it's easier with that large volume of water and the lighter vessels - need the rafts with ten overweight tourists plowing into it trying to touch the rock falling all over each other.
What responsible rafting company would let their rafters jump into a rapid vs unloading on the rocks on River left only to put them back in the boat below the rapid??? Not much different than running the shoot left of postage due at Sweets only to swim your boat for the "THRILL" of flipping and swimming. Someone will get hurt or for doing stupid shit like that!!!
Did this raid at 500 cfs and parked our boat at a 45 degree angle. Luckily enough, we were able to safely unload the boat while stuck in Woodstock. Had an extremely experienced and talented guide who literally lost it for obvious reasons. The week before this trip, a man who was with his family drowned on Iron Ring do to a hand impingement!!!! Nasty rapid at low flow!!!
This is amazing! I'm a reporter for Caters News and we'd love to feature this in a new tv series we're working on. Can you please email me at alycecollins@catersnews.com for info - thanks!
I love seeing guides who are super used to seeing one flow. Its like they forget how to read water and look ahead to the next feature. That first big stern frame was hillarious
