Please I need your help, my LR4 Discovery is not starting. It's been 2 weeks now my mechanic don't have a clue. The system is detecting crankshaft sensor. We tried fix another one but still it refusing to start. I am getting so frustrated with this. I need help!
I’ve come across a problem on my Giulietta, when I’m braking my rear wiper goes off and can’t manually use it from the control by the steering wheel, any ways to fix this?
Hiya. Sounds like a short in the wiring and you’ve been welcome’d to the Giulietta rear wiring loom club. I believe it’s the right hand loom that contains the rear wiper. I’d say there’s a short between the wiper and brake wires. The rear wiring looms are a very common issue. That’s where I’d start. Hope that helps. All the best 👍
@@vialettotony thank you so much for replying I’ll definitely be giving them a look, was a bit shocked seeing everytime I braked and my wiper went off 🤣
I can open the drivers door from the inside at the moment but I can't open it from the outside. I have to climb through to open it which is obviously not ideal
hello i have a question that l hope you answer. I own a 2012 G and i don’t have reconfigurable display, my menu and headlight adjustments just like yours. Did you change your display? If so how can i change mine? Thanks in advance.
Hi. I’ve not changed my setup, and not sure why yours doesn’t have these options. I believed these were standard. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. All the best 👍
@@vialettotony as i searched through internet, i’ve learnt that your display comes with distinctive or better versions, i will search for retrofit tho. Thanks for your quick response.
The aircon doesn’t work on my Giulietta 2010 anymore. I’ve taken it to a garage, they tried regassing it but it still doesn’t work and they told me I need to change the compressor (around £600 including parts and labour). I’ve just had a look at that wheel that is only supposed to be spinning when the AC is on. My is always spinning, whether I have the AC off or on. Does this sound normal? Here’s a video ru-vid.com3cZOm6yAXLY?si=DS-42xu1e60BzfEI
If they are reputable then they should add die so they can identify any leaks with a UV mask. Then you’ll know for sure. Sounds like the clutch may have ceased though. All the best 👍
Hi, personally no I didn't. Making sure it's torqued up under pressure should mitigate any changes, but it would never be unrecommended. All the best 👍
Yep had the dodgy compartment, the battery change, the wiring loom and issues with lights and wiper, the window switch...I'm still waiting on my passenger airbag. One other great fault seems to be the bluetooth module failing and causing residual battery drain, that's a fun one!
Hi, can you tell me, if it's not a secret of course, which stores you buy spare parts from? I need drive shaft seals for the gearbox of a Corsa D, and as in your last video, I also need to replace the rear shock absorbers. Thanks for the answer :)
Hi. I get most of my parts from a local garage "Bennetts", and also Autodoc... With Autodoc though, i've learnt to not go for cheap alternative options. Hope that helps, All the best 👍
@@vialettotony Thank you very much for your help, I have your channel subscribed. You edit videos very well, and they are helpful, thanks. So far, I have been using the "Euro Car Parts" website, and now I have a few more options. You're right, the quality of replacement parts for our cars can vary. However, it's nice to be able to do something yourself. I have an idea for your next video: could you recommend the tools you use? :) I'm curious about the torque wrench and your impact driver. You dealt with those screws in no time; using a manual wrench is a struggle. Thanks again! :)
Just wondering if this is the problem I have. I dont have any issues with dashboard saying a silly temperature but multi-ecu says that one of the two external sensors reads -40, the other reads normal
Have to thank you for your old video on removing the door cards from the front doors of the Giulietta. The vinyl on mine has shrunk so they are off to the motor trimmer to be fixed.
I have three cars equipped with the Fiat 1.9 turbo diesel and I use the same oil in all three - Mannol 5w-30 ACEA c3 Fully Synthetic. It meets Dexos 2 (GM) and BMW LL04 (Longlife). Part number is MN7908 and it costs around £15 for 5 litres. I also use Mannol coolant and oils in my family fleet of petrol cars (including an E39 540i) never had any problems and I do an annual oil and filter change (under 10k) each summer for all five cars.
I am a new driver and I like the Giulietta, I want to get it as a first car God willing and I have seen that it has no foot rest for the clutch. Is that an issue I should be worried about
In newer handbook it says 0W30 (Selenia Digitek P.E.) oil for 1.4 tb engine with MultiAir, and 5W40 (Selenia StAR P.E.) for just 1.4 tb 🤔 what do you think?)
It is also important to comply with the certifications (E.G. FIAT 9.55535-S1), I have had issues due to ash and sulfur composition, even though the previous oil was ACEA C2 too!
Hi. I guess it will take some fettling with some different levers etc. nothing to really suggest apart from maybe some long cable ties that may push through on to the latch. All the best 👍
Vauxhaul corsa e 1.4 turbo owner here.... i did not drain the gearbox on mine before taking out the cv axles. Well after managing to pull out the first axle, all of the gearoil flooded the floor 😢 I even had to fill um my gearbox with the wrong gearoil ( 80W90 instead of the recomended 75W80 ) because i only had that at my mates garage. I hope it did not do mutch damage on the way home. I will change it out tomorrow
I used Castrol Edge 5-40 which conforms to the C3 ACEA. When I had my Chrysler Delta with the 1.4 multiair, 140 hp from 2014 to 2021. I never had any problems...
I prefer to use Selenia Quadrifoglio 5W-40 - for 1.75 TBI Engine. Replacing oil for every 30.000 is dramatic nonsense - it will kill your engine especially when you have MultiAir. I prefer to change it every 10.000km with all filters.
Simple; always abide by the certification standard. On my current Giulietta, the oil standard is Fiat 9.55535-GH2. Currently (seems to be the case for all I can find) only Selenias are "certified" for Fiat standard. But you will find manufacturers that produce oils with certain spec even if not undergoing the manufacturer's certification programme. In my case, I can use the Selenia, but Motul, Fuchs and Ravenol all have a -GH2 product
With a Euro 6 multi air 170, it's 0/30 and I really check now. . A while ago I thought it was getting a little lumpy for a second on start up but no issues.. A service at dealer & put 5/40 (euro 5) oil in and multi air went to bag of spanners on start up. Like running on 3 cylinders Multi air replaced by dealer.. I found shell helix ect ultra has fiat GS1 spec and using it fine, it's nice and clean inside rocker. Liquid moly also do a 0/30 up to spec.. My point is check the spec the car takes as changes over cars life cycle, and check ACEA, manufacturer spec and not just viscosity.. And finally check service invoices for correct oils !
They one time didn't use Selenium i got various dash warnings indicating engine issues. Drained and replaced with Selenium, all good after a few runs. Learned my lesson. 2010 1.4 170bhp.
Hi tony hope your well pal, my internal temp is showing blank and my AC stopped working. Checked ac compressor and its not spinning either. Would this be due to this temp sensor? I hoping so.
Hi. Yeah, most likely the fact that the temp isn’t reading correctly will stop the Compressor kicking in. The AC system is like the Stop Start on our cars. So many things need to be right for it to work. Lots of people have successfully changed their sensors and all has been well. Hoping you may be able to do the same. All the best 👍
Hi tony just a update, i can confirm if the ambient sensor is not working and shows three dots ok dashboard instead of external temperature then indeed the AC clutch will not engage therefore AC will not be working. I have just changed the sensor and AC is back to working order. Only took me over a month to research and find this out. So hopefully whoever needs to see this, will make your life easier. 👊
This video should help. All the best 👍 m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x5u2waYQNg8.html&pp=ygUfVmlhbGV0dG8gdG9ueSBkaXNjb3ZlcnkgYmF0dGVyeQ%3D%3D
hi.... not sure if you will read this but if you, I would like if you suggest something!! is it ok to mix coolants when topping off or drain completely every time? I do not remember which one i put it in last time. (it is red in colour though! )will any G30 be ok or should I drain it completely first just to be safe?
Hi. You can mix old with new, but only if the same type. If you mix different types/colours, you run the risk of creating crystals or the fluid breaking down. I have mixed red with red previously without any issues. Hope that helps. All the best 👍
Hi did your car lower and raise with this fault i have this message come up today and the rear raises fine but the front takes ages also the message is intermittent like you said.
Hi. When the message was present it would not lower or raise. If your front takes ages to raise, then it could be the front valve thing. Does it fro at the front overnight or after a couple of days? All the best 👍
@vialettotony thanks for replying I've watched loads of videos and been on forums since the fault came up yesterday stressed now!, and I've got a feeling it's the dryer on the compressor but I'm going to refurb the whole compressor while it's off if that doesn't fix it then I'll move onto the valves I need to do the front arb bushes anyway. It's not dropping which is a good sign as I was dreading it might have been a shock. I've ordered that AP200 to read the codes it looks a good reader I've got a basic one but it's not picking the codes up.
Hi Tony, great work there. I follow your channel and i must say it helps quite a lot😊 Now i have a squeaking noise in my QV coming from the rear suspension (left side) I don't have the factory shock and springs. I have the set from Novitec and it it only one and half years old, so still in pretty good shape...but the garage that did the job didnt put new top mounts on the rear as they said the ones that i brought were not compatible so tjey had to put the old ones that they said they were in pretty good condition. Is just that i can hear this squeaking noise ennd maybe a minimal "tak" noise that is driving me crazy. The right side is completely silent. The drop links were also put new at the time together with the shocks. Do you have any ideas what i can start checking? Thank you 🙏
May be worth checking the rear anti rollbar bushes. You could try spraying WD40 on to one bush at a time before taking it for a drive. If it stops after one of them, then you know where your problem is. All the best 👍
