It the goes wrong show A amateur acting group , cornley drama society, put on a play every week and almost anything that can go wrong does Characters Robert Grove-guy hurting everyone Chris bean-the director, has a rivalry with robert, mean at times Max-does stay serious during plays among other things dati g Sandra Sandra-can't think of good dispriction Annie-often seen playing multiple roles, tries to stay in character when chaos happens Jonathan-almost never makes it on set Vanessa-cant improv Dennis can't remember lines, differentiate acting cues(blank exits stage, what is ali e what not)from actual lines often remember everyone else's lines Trevor-stage hand bad actor Lucy Grove-not in very many episodes Robert's nice has stage freight it pretty much the murphy's law (if you know what that is) of theater It has 2 seasons and 2 specials The first season and both specials are free to watch on RU-vid the second season is hard to find but on BBC website If you in UK and appearantly on prime video Also the reason some characters have last name listed and others don't I'd because I bad at name
I love how in the goes wrong show they act like they hate each other but in one of the other productions they're basically married and call each other darling
God the improvised in-character-banter around play that goes wrong is just utterly perfect. I unfortunately ever saw it live once, but it was with the orginal cast (except for Charlie who was ill) in Manchester last year. Nancy made us piss ourselves, and Shields absolutely made my night by stealing my bucket of popcorn and walking around with it feeding it to other audience members lo. 😂 He also screamed at me personally from stage during the "this isn't a panto" bit. 🥲 Best night ever. 😄
This is completely and utterly unrelated to the topic of the video (fantastic job by the way, particularly in getting clips of many casts), but Robert's socks at 4:20 are the exact same pattern (with only one color changed) as Heather Chandler's in the 2014 production of Heathers, and I'm absolutely fascinated by whatever chain of events could possibly have led to that.
i ADORE how u had clips from multiple casts :) i saw Henry and Henry (lol) in Peter Pan Goes Wrong in LA twice this summer, and this was exactly what i needed to watch for those post-show withdrawals haha. great vid !
With some of these I've seriously gotta wonder how the actors weren't actually getting hurt. Like the chair break, coffin drop, and the falling tree limb
I wouldn’t say all of these are Robert actively hurting people, like when he is stuck in the doorway in Peter Pan goes wrong, or when he shoves the brick back into the chimney after nosel breaks it and says his legs are numb
And pretty much everything we see Lucy Lucy Some times it just remindi g her if emotional stuff and something it is quite literal the tree the drop thing
I saw Peter Pan goes wrong on broadway on July first and almost all the original cast signed my playbill, then two days later I saw funny girl and the actor who plays Robert (I can’t remember his name rn) was sitting in the seat behind me and my family
This is absolutely brilliant. I hope they do more of these someday, I'd love to see one live! (I was hoping they would be at the Fringe again this year but alas!)
@@xxmidnight12xx18 in case you are still wondering the goes wrong show has three layers: 1) the characters played in each piece, with a narrative arc limited to the episode they appear in only 2) The actors of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, playing the characters of the first layer, with narrative arcs spanning over one season (or one special) 3) The actual real-life actors of the Mischief Theater, who play the actors of the Cornley (layer 2) (who themselves play the characters in each piece, layer 1). No narrative arc, they’re real people. In this instance, Robert Groves is an actor of the Cornley (layer 2). He is played by Henry Lewis iirc, who, along with Henry Shields (Chris Bean) and Jonathan Sayer (Dennis) is the writer of the Goes Wrong Show. Lucy Groves is also an actor of the Cornley (layer 2) and is the niece of Robert. I have no idea who she is played by but I doubt she’s actually related to Henry Lewis (layer 3)
