I think the West Coast Main Line should get cab signalling, as is planned for the East Coast and Great Western Main Lines. To reduce dependency on air travel, we need to increase operating speeds on the West Coast Main Line, so that it's less than 4 hours between London and Glasgow!

Basically Gearbox won't be used on EMU so there's probably no gearbox on 1995 stocks and 1996 stocks Also, I found that the compressor nosie are different as well🤔
@@cookpoon even at the start the gear/motor drive is the same if you follow it, the GTO frequencies are just different. So 96 stocks inverter not only create a different inverter sound but warp the motor/gear drive in a way that makes it sound rough at the start. In summary 95 stock is the 96 stocks sound with some edits to the layers of sounds. we hear. I.e a flat carrier frequency paired with the motor/hearbox sounds with the 95s vs the 96 with a creative GTO style down up, down up, frequencies layered together with the motor/ gear drive sounds its interesting how a difference in inverter frequencies can change how we percieve its noise. The 96 stock also features a synchronous mode that also blends with the other sounds.
@@cookpoon ah see, i can understand the confusion. We assume a gearbox switches gear ratios in EMUs . Thats the sort of drive you get on a car /or some DMUs like the class 172 or 195 . EMUs use gear transmission as well. They just have a static gear ratio , it doesent shift like how it would on an engine. Ill send you a small video of how that works.
