Hello Hampshire fd, I was wondering how come the uk firefighters don’t have the type of gear that firefighters in America do? Also even though I’m 12 should I still Pursue my dream of firefighting. Would be great for a response Thanks.
I live in Shanklin, and our local fire station was responding to something. Can you tell me? By the way I went to the open day and my grandad was in the fire service.
@@havenz8249 Yeah, Just go for it. When you come back there will be no shame on you and everybody at cadets is Nice There. You will have a good time trust me. If it was your first night, Don't Worry, Everybody's First night was bad at Cadets.
@@AviationGuy22 damn, glad to hear that it wasn't only me who's first night at cadets didn't go as expected - thanks a lot :) i'm gonna try again next monday since i've been ill lately, thanks for the tip i appreciate it a ton
I'm a person who's gonna get in cadets very soon I have to wait till may. But I'm already super excited. Firefighting is my dream job. And no matter my gender or what people think I'll do it either way. I'll push myself. Make myself proud. As long as I'm happy I don't need negative opinions!
Amazing I came across this watching London's burning I'm from Ireland but my dad and grandparents and uncil are all from fordingbridge they were from Burnham road if anyone reading this from the village my grandmother was miss Doris Hadaway
I know people may think it's funny to dial 999, but it's only there for emergencies, on going crimes and for public safety concerns. It's not funny to waste police, fire or ambulance time, because someone could really need their help. If it was you, you wouldn't find it funny if you could not get through!!!!
Weirdest video - shown in my little boy’s (6 yo) school yesterday and had him crying and worrying about screaming stoats at bedtime!!!! Think the message might have been lost on that age group…..! 🤣
This has really pissed me off he should be in prison for a long time for making a hoax call for wasting the emergency Services time and for putting lives in danger
the way rural greenland is disappearing for houses there will be no need for these appliances the biggest downside I see is that they carry only 5 fire fighters which means 1 crew less for a serious incident unlike before covid a basic crew was 6 fire fighters welcome todays modern fire fighting in a noddy fire appliance, A lot of fire fighters at the station where I was fire fighting don't like these new appliances as our station goes over the border to West Berkshire
@@momus9775 Seen whole time stations in North Yorks tip out with 3 of late, and stations be closed for the day due to lack of crew, Acomb and York being just 2
Most rescue pumps in Hampshire haven't deployed with 6 person crews in years the requirement is a minimum of 4 and your be lucky if you get 5 especially at retained stations
@@staffsemergresp Not heard much good about them, the main issues seem to be electronics, don't get me wrong they look far better than most other appliances but these are emergency service vehicles that need reliability. I know a few years back they used electronic scales to show how much water was in the tank, but they proved to be unreliable and were replaced by a tube and a ping pong ball it!
Be good if Portchester 28 got one of these. It be good for ports down hill plus Southwick, boarhunt and wicor wreck it be nice and easy to get through when on a fire call or a rtc.
@@jackshit3355 every fire station has a number in Hampshire. So the numbers on the fire engines shows where the fire engine comes from I.e Cosham is 23 fareham is 17 portchester is 28. I hope iv explained it right.
@@jackshit3355 they might of looked at the us fire services and saw there where using numbers and took the idea. I know the UK and USA airports use numbers on their fire crash tenders.

It looks like two incomplete separate film segments have been spliced together. First is the 'for show' planned turnout of the single engine to what looks like a deliberate fire of straw and petrol (note they get a foam making branch out) in the yard of farm buildings, with higher quality footage (probably from tripod mounted static cameras) then it switches suddenly to a 'real' job in a cottage on the side of the road with multiple stations turned out, other services present and grainier footage from a more hand held (such as there was then) camera. Still far better to have found part of the footage than it be lost forever! You can see why they dumped the bells for two tone air horns soon after!
It seams suspicious I have been in real emergency where I needed fire 🔥 service oil radiator caught fire my mum was in front room couldn't get to her or turn power off I did unlock the door phoned 999 lucky there was no loss off life despite my training I still shuck up to this day
Well done to all of you, wish you all the very best of luck and do your very best. Make your families, friends, service and more importantly, your community very proud. 👍🙂
