Very late comment, but I'm happy to see Torch & Shield getting played on RU-vid. The music, however, is much too loud and distracting, fyi. Tune it down by at least 50% of it's current level so we don't have to struggle to hear the commentary. I'm really battling the music to get through this. Are you guys using two separate card decks for activations? (that's how it's supposed to be done)
The design of the Warriors of Carn Dum is really underwhelming. Few poses. Boring and bad poses. Unfitting proportions. And expensive yay. Another case for Etsy.
Oof rough game for the Skaven. But FYI, the Grey Seer shoulda been rolling 3D6 to cast spells then picking the best 2, unless it's a 13 then it's an auto cast but he suffers D3 mortals
@@Lauri-c6h the majority of models in this set can be used for Black Templars. However the Librarian model cannot as the black Templars cannot have psyker models
Fun battle report! It was maybe just a bit too edited, and at times it was a little hard to follow who took wounds because of the cuts--but don't get me wrong, it was still fun to watch!
Ok I guess my question is what are they for though? Is it just extra damage or do they give you special abilities? It's weird the rule book just assumes we know what they do.
@@tayloreddesigns6852 they are just dice, no extra abilities, just a better roll chance. You simply pick on up when told to do so and that’s all you need to do. Nothing else to them really.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. So they are just extra hits when rolling for hits? So you treat them like more damage? Just add up all the symbols hits a crits and then they have to defend based on how many hits you did to them. Sorry if it seems obvious, 'm still learning the terms.
Meh, Path to Glory is still a bare bones campaign format. In fact even calling it a campaign is a stretch. It's really not that different than matched play. Good to raise awareness of it anyway.
So ideally, the main strategy is to pick the cloaked in shadows ability on the general, as well as have the general within range of the hosts so hes as hard as possible to kill, then have him either grant the ward 5+ to either a group of reapers OR use it on the spirit hosts so they become harder to kill, so they keep the general harder to kill, forming a kind of defensive feedback loop?
Arvedui is essential for the legendary legion and without him the army bonus is redundant. So he really should go in the army first. Unless you have a particular theme in mind. He also comes in a pack with Malbeth.
There is much weird stuff in the CoS Spearhead. Weird abilities and weird synergies. 1. You have a cavalry hero that only has synergies with infantry units, so he wants to stay close to them which limits the use of his high movement. Which is kind of weird because even if he supports them in melee, they still don't make that much damage. So if you support them with the hero, your hero is likely to get killed, but if you don't support them you waste his 5 attacks + 2 mount attacks. 2. Limiting his ability to units outside of combat is also a weird one as this is rarely the case for steel helmets. They are kind of tough (especially with this ability), but don't make that much damage so I think most of the time they either have full health or are already in combat. 3. The only way to solve this problem is to support your steel helmets with your knights, but when you do so, you waste their high movement. 4. As you don't do that much damage and the board size is so small that it is easy for your opponent to bring other units to the place where your knights are, it is likely that most of your units and the enemy units get stuck in combat which is bad for your knights who always want to charge stuff and also bad for your cannon which runs out of targets.
You’re totally right. I just bought 2 sets of the spearhead to make an army. I made the Marshall his own regiment with 10 calavary. The 20 steel helms will be in their own regiment with Pontifex Zenestra and some flagellants.
Brilliant video. I bought 2 boxed sets and want a pure DC army. How would you equip those if I had 2x10 DC with jump packs and 2x DC on foot? Was going to get 2 land raiders for the 20 on foot and was also going to add mephiston.
Thanks for this. Any recommendations on the best orc sculpts to use for Angmar? I’m tempted to sick to metal and hunt down the old packs, or wait for a MTO.
