Stop at the barrier and a staff member will come and open the barrier and let you in. Stop inside and go and pay at the portacabin. Payment is midday to midday.
Roads to the Lac are fairly narrow but OK. We are 4.5t and it’s not a problem. Best route is through the small village of Bun, then on through Estaing. Narrow in places but just take it easy. Hope you enjoy the Lac.
I visited this site in 2016. Lovely setting. Best to keep off the grass on the right if possible. I had to help push a few folks who got stuck. Many thanks 🌞🙏🇬🇧👍
Thanks Malcolm. Glad you enjoy the videos. Now I have some time I must sort out and edit a few more, been very lazy recently. Hope we can all get out and about before too long but it sounds like 2021 before we get back over La Manche to warmer climes.
Enjoyed your video. Never having driven in France I was wondering about the proliferation of 'zebra' crossings in the town. Are they treated in the same manner as the UK?
The crossings are treated in the same way as in the UK. The difference is that just about every French driver adheres to the rule and immediately stops when someone is waiting to cross. The same seems to apply at cycle crossings too. In France pedestrians ALWAYS have priority, whether there is a crossing or not. In towns you need to be on full alert for people just stepping off the kerb or opening doors of parked cars.
No, but not necessary. It’s a normal car park where motor homes are permitted to stop overnight and is signed as such. There are no extra facilities although the fuel station on the other side of the complex has water and dump facilities. The car park has loads of space and you just park tidily between the lines, taking a double space if required. Usually 10+ moho’s there.
Very interesting. We go to this aire every January and then again in February. You'd be amazed how busy it can be in the winter. The bonus is no charge. The service station you mentioned we visited a couple of weeks ago and kick myself that I didn't notice the LPG pump because we actually wanted to top up the tanks.
Thanks for your comment Robert. We have also been there several times in winter, we actually spent Christmas day 2017 there after having to return home from Spain. It's one of our favourite places...........except when the wind is blowing hard.
@@MotorhomeMoments It was blowing a hooley in January as it was the previous January. We also went to the new aire at Narbonne plage. Very spacious and the beach is amazing. Also do Marseillan plage and Palavas les flots (a very interesting little town)
Stayed here last year (July I think), had an excellent lunch on the hill. Took the train up to save the walk. Be aware anyone thinking of staying, if there is a festival on they open this up as general parking for all vehicles. We tried to stay here on our return trip and found it totally full, you couldn't even park a Velo, let alone a MC :(
Interesting little town, may have to visit here next time I'm in the Lot. Couldn't make out what the sign was trying to say " Don't let Rave your dog" I'm guessing not to make a noise or nuisance. Google has a lot to answer for..lol
Don't know of any reason why not. There were several vans wilding there last time we went but there is also a campsite there if you wish to use it. Must go back soon.........lovely place.
C'est une aire intéressante. En centre ville avec services gratuits et de la place pour une dizaine de C.cars. J'y suis allé et j'ai posté une vidéo sur ma Chaine.
Was desperate to visit here after seeing your video but google maps decided to take us a shortcut and my co-pilot demanded i turn back towards Lourdes. Was probably harder turning than continuing! www.manvannoplan.co.uk
Stayed there June 2017 dusty gravel car park limited shade ,next to the beech but would not use again there are better Aires and for 10 euros not worth the stop
If only the UK could do some areas like this for motorhomers - nice rest or overnight spots... would be great, however probably be charged a small fortune for this privalige in the UK
