Awesome job on this rig!! My first ZJ was a 1994 Laredo 2WD company fleet vehicle and I fell in love. Was very sad to turn it in 2 years later for an ‘Exploder’. Separated from that company in 1998 and my wife & I purchased a slightly used 1996 Laredo 4.0 4WD w factory upgrade options. We now have four of them in our family fleet and I’m in one of them every day. Have tried newer GCs but I have passed them all off to the kids and I stick w ZJs. Celebrating 30 years of very near continuous operations and I have zero plans to drive anything else until gas vehicles are outlawed and then we’ll probably still drive ‘em. One of the four is a really wild Offroad rig based on a 1997 Orvis Edition and one is a cherry stock 1998 5.2. The other two; a lightly used kick-around 1997 Laredo 4.0 at the lake place which started life as a National Park Service fleet vehicle still w the NPS sticker on the windshield. The last is a 1998 Laredo 4.0 w factory upgrade options which looks great at first glance but is rusty underneath. The last one gets most of my driving these days and it is nice not to worry about road salt or some texter hitting it.
I gotta 98 5.2 one of the BEST years for Zj Jeeps. Good Looker man mine just passed 120k, couple dents and interior flaws but still CLEAN. Same color exterior and interior, I have a little more on the audio front with 3 subs and 3 amps. Made me jelly when I saw you have straight panels. I got a few scratches and dents along driver side from previous owner. Still learning to work on it, plan to plus stock it like you! <3 (edit i still have my infinity gold amp from the 1990s works GREAT.)
