The Digging Dudes are a group of guys who just love history and bringing the past back to the future through metal detecting. We mainly metal detect in Canada but have known to travel south for events. We pride ourselves on finding some of the most unique places and getting invited to old family homes to save some history before it's lost to time forever. We consider ourselves recovery experts and we love sharing our finds and hope you enjoy the passion as much as we do. Let's diggity do!
Willy actually found another one exactly the same a week ago too. Didn't get time to update the video. jetonscanada.com/en/product/bl-37-blacksmith-token-copper-5-96-g-canada-wood-33/
It's the most common Blacksmith... but a Blacksmith token still beats a typical KG copper. Doesn't help ya break into the 1700s but never be bothered by getting a better find! :) The old ones will come.
@findyman3123 agreed. We have couple 1700s identified already... hoping to get 16 someday. I agree tho, much happier with the blacksmith. Appreciate the comment.
Congrats Jeff!! A Victoria Quarter is still on my bucket list - my goal for this year was any Victoria silver (I found a dime), but the Quarter is now top of my list too!
Awesome and cool 🥶 hunt to end the season on! Nice to pull silver and congrats on the sweet Vicky quarter! 👍🎉 Only ever pulled one and it’s been too long since!
A few years ago my buddy and I and my wife were just about 3 miles from where y'all's at right now in this video, and anyhow we managed to find a silver dinner utensil set and it sold at a major auction on the east coast for 178.000 what a trip it was
They were just more worried about showing everybody their find they didn't even care about anybody else's it's weird how that works, maybe I'm just being too sensitive I'm sorry I'm out
With limited day light and hours, we try to balance out recording and finding stuff and watching others find things. It's impossible to see everyone's finds all the time while trying to find your own but we manage. We always take the time to enjoy them properly after.
Beauty locale boys. Now what is a bicycle bell doing out there? Lol. It’s been a bit since my last largie so I’m jumping at the bit to get out there today lol. Happy hunting Dudes.
Learned a lesson last week about discrimination lol. I generally don’t discriminate because I want to hear everything but I do lower the lower non ferrous signals to sound like iron which is essentially another way of discriminating targets. I learned a hard lesson lol. I went over a gold chain and decided not to dig it because it came up low 30’s and jumpy on my Deus, my buddy’s minelab picked it up as non ferrous although because a chain it still sounded scratchy. My instinct was not to dig the target. His was to dig it. (10k gold chain) lol I was definitely happy for him to get some gold. I’ll be more open to those sounds from now on lol
I leave iron on as a low tone as well...if Im in the middle of a pretty quiet field and start hearing a lot of iron...something was going on around there...time to slow down....
Some good tips for the newbies out there, Dudes.... use as little discrimination as possible and dig the deep good stuff.....soil conditions often alter the VDI on most detectors a bit....19 is the sweet spot on the Nox for LC,s but they come in anywhere from 17 - 22 as well.......if it sounds good dig it,ya got nothin to lose
What a hunt, I love seeing all those LCs get pulled, plus the half penny too! That medal is incredible, I enjoyed watching this for a second time! Did you film returning the war medal to the property owner? Fantastic hunt either way, just inspiring to know there are permissions like that out there waiting! HH my Dudes! 😁
