I love to travel and this channel features my collection of travel videos mostly of hotel rooms, airlines, cruise ships, restaurants and destinations. I have a Facebook page and Instagram account as well so please check them too. Lastly, I also have a photography blog, check it out at www.rderealphotos.com. All my trips are self-funded.
Hi thanks for the video! We're thinking of staying in this room and was wondering if you heard any creaking, banging, or popping noises while on board? We've been hearing some reviews of the cabins saying there are loud creaking noises.
Just got off Celebrity Edge and was wondering if you could smell diesel fumes in the Retreat outdoor areas, as we did whenever we ventured near it. A deal breaker for me!
Hi! I don’t remember smelling anything. The Retreat areas are located right in the front of the ship while the funnels are located further back. The areas that will probably smell the most will be the Rooftop Garden and the Sunset Bar.
Not anymore. It used to be free then some time last year they started charging for it. They must have received a significant amount of complaints that they reverted back to the old policy. Unfortunately during this cruise last January 2024, they were still charging for the drinks inside the mini bar.
I don't like a tub / shower combination. It means that you are stepping over a barrier onto a slippery, curved, moving surface. Try that at sea. Give me a plain shower. Much safer.
We totally agree. Came back from the Beyond 2 weeks ago, and we hated climbing over that bathtub “threshold”. Something that should have been redesigned when the Beyond was being built, or certainly when the Ascent was. We are taking a transatlantic on the Ascent next year - we won’t be showering any time the boat is rocking at all. Truly feels scary in that tub.
My wife and I just got off the Beyond Magic Carpe Sky suit. I do agree about the bed. However we had a much deeper balcony and had 2 additional recliners. Really enjoyed the recliners in addition to the chairs.
Thank you I really did like this review. We've done five Celebrity cruises now and for the most part we're very content. Unfortunately our experience on the Edge was a little disappointing in 2022, it was not long after covid and she sailed with insufficient staff to look after her customers, they shut bars and closed the Eden cafe and struggled with service in the four mdr's. We forgave Celebrity, we know this wasn't the norm and have recently done our bucket list cruise from Singapore to Sydney via Bali. Brilliant service from all the crew on Solstice. From watching your footage I think we need to step up and experience the Retreat. Would you have any tips and information on getting the right deal at the right time ( I believe Celebrity have offers open for a short time at certain time's of the year) Regards.
Thank you for viewing my video and taking time to comment. I too am very satisfied with Celebrity. I was on the first few cruises soon after they resumed operations post pandemic and was lucky to cruise at 30-40% capacity and so far service was awesome. I believe it started becoming a problem when they started sailing at full capacity while understaffed. I usually book my cruises a year or two in advance and usually get better rates. Lately I’ve noticed that prices tend to go higher as you get closer to the date of cruising.
Question if you have a carry on in the overhead bin can you put a small tote on the floor in front of you ? Or would it have to go in the overhead bin as well ?
The crew will most likely ask you to put the small tote in the overhead compartment until the plane is in cruising altitude then you can take it out for the rest of the flight until it’s time to land. Unfortunately for this seat layout, it doesn’t have a compartment that can accomodate a small bag. I was able to do it on their B787-9.
You should experience the MSC Cruises Yacht Club. You have a butler and Jr. butler. The Jr. butler cleans the room. They make sure that you are pampered. The mini bar is free. They keep it stocked. They bring chocolates every day. They also bring surprise cakes and goodies. They aren’t scheduled. They were a nice surprise. The Aurea Thermal Spa is complementary for Yacht club guests. The butler is there for you throughout the day to check to see if you need anything. They will book shows and excursions for you too. I highly recommend you try it!
I’ve been reading a lot about MSC Yacht Club from Celebrity forums. Thanks for the info. Will definitely look into it. Thanks again for dropping by my channel.
The food is very basic on MSC, even in the Yacht Club. Celebrity is far superior in food entertainment, and overall layout and feel of the ships. Celebrity ships, especially E class, are stunningly beautiful and modern without being gaudy like an MSC ship can feel. But that's just my experience.
@@ashleys4652 Thank you for the input. I’ve only sailed on Royal (4 times) and Celebrity (20 times) and so far I’m very satisfied with Celebrity. I know that many loyal Celebrity cruisers were disappointed with all the changes after the pandemic and with the new leadership so they started looking at other cruise lines. Thankfully, Celebrity listened to everyone’s feedback as they seem to be bringing back most of the services they took away.
Really nice job with this video. Not a bunch of annoying irrelevant narratives. Did you try dining at Eden or on the Magic Carpet and was there an up charge if you did?
Thank you! We had dinner at Eden for a fee but used our OBC to pay for it. It was an okay experience. The service at Luminae was far better, in my opinion.
Looks just like the Beyond we got off March 11. Glad to see the bottom floor of the Retreat sundeck had towel bins, as I couldn't find any and stayed on the top floor of the sundeck. Our bar service was a bit lax on sea days with only 3 waiters and a bartender. Our Magic Carpet suite on 7 was laid out differently. We had a forward facing window, two chairs and table and 2 loungers with a big balcony.
In Makati I usually stay at the Raffles, Shangri-La Makati or the Peninsula….they’re the best ones in that area. The Fairmont is also okay. I’m looking forward to the opening of the new Mandarin Oriental, which I think will reclaim the title of best business hotel in Metro Manila. I have a video of the Raffles coming soon. Thanks!
@@roaminreymon Makati Diamond Residence is great, I must say. the Regency Suite is perfect for me..its a 1 Bedroom apartment with access to the Lounge on the 26 floor. I love the drinks at the lounge and the Hotel‘s proximity to Greenbelt ( Restaurants-just across the Hotel ) In the Bay area I tried Okada, Okura, and Hilton so far, but I prefer Makati bec its close to work place. Mandarin is always nice..something to check later in Manila. I like the Mandarin Bangkok along the river. I was just in Kempinski Apurva Bali 3 weeks ago for my official Holiday…amazing!
This was an excellant video! Your music choice & filming were great - personally I like no extra commentary. We have this suite booked for July 2024 - can't wait!
Hi! I was told the stairs lead down to the main dining room. It’s an emergency exit for the penthouse passengers as well as for those in the main dining room if their exit forward is inaccessible. By the way, thanks for checking out my video and channel.
happy bday po sir , ingat and enjoy your day. nga pala tulungan kita mamontays tsannnel mo try mung bumista sa layb ko 1pm or minsahi mo ko sa Dong Culis para maadd kta sa team, libre lang po, salmat
Thank you so much for this video we are booked in this room for the Norwegian Fjords in June so this was really helpful in letting me know we booked the right room.
