I'm Mark Rogers, best known online as the Christian Gun Owner.
Since 2007, I've helped people learn to safely handle, work, shoot, and train with their handguns. Not my job. Just my passion.
This channel will provide videos with gun reviews and demonstrations of solo training. These are designed to help you become proficient with your handgun(s), for the possible eventuality that you may have to use them to save your life.
My website, Christian Gun Owner, has articles covering everything from gun reviews, to firearms insights, to firearms rights discussion, all from a Christian perspective. You can also learn more about me, and my personal history as a Christian, a gun owner, and a practical training enthusiast.
Videos here will contain language your kids can listen to.
You won't have to worry about cringing at any language describing guns or training.
Excellent review. As you point out, this isn't the easiest shotgun to shoot. But for self-defense, or as a backup gun, it's fine. I have one, and that's what I use it for. Impossible to get a better combination of price, versatility, and reliability.
I have the same one except i changed out my LOP to the 12" with the limb saver perfect for my T-rex arms no snags on my shirt. Also recommend opsol miniclip add capacity to your shoty
Joe Biden told me to buy a double barrel 12ga and fire two warning shots. He seems to know what he's talking about and he is the president so I'm inclined to take his advice.
Ouch!! That’s a tough decision, my first answer would be to keep everyone that I own, but if I had to choose one, I would ask to break it down into 2 categories, one pistol & one rifle/ shotgun. I would choose the Glock 23 Gen 4, like you said with an alternative option for 9mm conversion barrel and a reliable brand of AR15 5.56 rifle. 😊
I just bought an 88 this year in 2024 and the stock has been improved and has more cushion than the one this gentleman had standard on his gun from 15 years ago.
Perhaps they were thinking with the original butt plate of the clubbing characters. If you ran out of shells and had to melee who or whatever was attacking you.
it would have worked with this one. Though there are a number of comments here that say the newer ones have a good pad that actually buffers the recoil.
Mark at 6:35 minutes into the video you draw and fire to eliminate the threat. I was wondering your thoughts of moving backwards while facing the threat to create distance and firing so as to not turn the back. Good practice or not ??
That's good feedback, and an excellent question. Yes, that would be good practice. The downside to making these videos brief enough to keep people's attention is I can't cover every action comprehensively. Anything and everything you can do to improve your position and safety, while defending your life, is worth practicing. The more you can practice all of it, the more prepared you will be should the unthinkable ever happen. And being mentally prepared is the big point in all these videos. Thanks.
@@MarkRogersCGO oh, okay. I use them in other guns mostly because no one buys them. slugs are what I mostly shoot anyway. with exception to the maverick. I only use shot with it. its purpose is close range defense for backpacking. plus, I want the extra shell the 2.75" gives me.
I bought me The Taurus Gun just like your video,,,,To Me from Me for my Birthday 🎂,…Can’t wait to shoot it,…Got a box of .38 & a box of 357mag,…I recently got my license to carry,…I already carry The Judge,…Goood Video 🥸👍
Tomorrow is my Birthday and I'm getting The Taurus 605 poly protector 357mag,...I'm going to Cabela's,...My Son-in-Law Hightly Suggest Me to buy this gun,...Grrrr8 Video !! 👍
I bought this recently used in 2024 was only 250 used and carry .38 Hornaday HP at the moment was thinking about carrying .357 110 HP in it yet to shoot any .357 but for a snub I would think the recoil would make it fly out my small hands.
I commented last week about wearing a good T Shirt when appendix carry when I get moved to Arkansas. I want to know if what you are wearing right now in this video would be acceptable while in public ? The reason I ask is I'm in Sacramento and in no way could I get away with that here. It becomes frustrating with having to wear extra layers especially now as the summer is starting, thanks for these great video's !
It would be 'acceptable' but kinda' stupid. The video is not about hiding a gun. Just using it to make a point about the specific legal issue. I knew the gun was showing, but for the video it didn't matter. If I was carrying in this UV protective hoodie, it would be with a S&W Shield in a belly band with my belt pulled tighter. It wouldn't show through. So, while there is no legal issue in Arkansas with whether a gun shows or not; to keep anybody from overreacting, it pays to be sure the gun is not obvious if you're carrying concealed.
