I have been growing succulents for 50 years and never heard anyone recommend microwaving the soil.... What a brilliant idea!! Unfortunately I have hundreds of those black flies (fungas gnats?)....I use Neem oil, those yellow sticky traps, and kill everyone I see but they seem to be in the soil when you first buy it. Thank you for the tip....subscribed!!
I have the same insects, i havent noticed them doing any damage but as you said the seem to come in the soil. Alcohol seemes to do nothing so i just let them be. Micowaving or oven are a good idea.
Kumusta. I have one with the same situation. Completely dry when received in the mail. Maybe more severe like a potato chip😔. Mine is in soak also. Hopefully it will be good like yours. Salamat for the video ha.
Just a note - needs a much smaller container- then you dont have to worry about the straw and syringe ... with such a large pot we are still depositing water to roots where it can sit and not dry. Small pots dry out fast which is what we are trying to achieve.
Hello! I’m so glad I found your video. I need help with this plant! I wish I could show you a picture of how it looks… it lost all of its leaves and it started to grow some leaves from where it lost the old leaf. But now it has slowed down its growth. Is it dormant? I live in Miami Florida, US (really hot and humid) and I have it in a glass container with very gritty soil. How should I care for it? I don’t want the baby leaves to die Should I move it inside where there is air conditioner? And should I stop watering? I’ll appreciate your response! I really don’t want to loose this precious thing
Hi!! Thanks for watching. if ever there’s no roots, what I used to do. There’s different situations of the plants. Example if it is from shipping some don’t have roots, and they look dehydrated. What I use to do is I put them in water ,same water therapy the roots will eventually grow, assuming that the stem is well callus to avoid it to rot. Even if it is not dehydrated as long it is well callus you can do this way to grow a roots fast.
So do you recommend keeping this one inside during hot summer months? I just got mine but did not know it is dormant during the summer. Also can you propagate the leaves?
Hi!!! Yes I recommend but you can also put in bright shaded area. They are dormant in summer so less water in summer. Mine I will put inside the house if it gets too hot just beside the window where there is still bright light. They grow so fast in in colder season
@@kirafluffy5377Hi!🙋♀️ I think you know many about this one. I see your opinion in another comment. That's helpful because sometimes the channels owners dont have time to answer. Do you think that it gives more babies in the place where it lost the leaves?
Hey, I have follows your technique and recovered one on my succulents. I just wanted to ask, after you have completed water therapy and replanted... when should you water the plant... after a few days or immediately....
Hello thanks for watching. Yes after I replant it to make it sure I wait 2weeks and water I again. Depend on weather condition also. Just make it sure it’s really really bone dry before you water it again.
Hi sorry for very late response kind of bz. Regarding on your question do I change the water everyday ? No i just change the water if it is dirty when the color of the water change turns to brown that’s the time I change it.
@@succulentlovers7725 looking forward to see your update on this. How long is it rooted and how often u water them? I have one I bought with dry rooted 2 weeks ago. Hoping for the fresh root in few weeks.
@@succulentlovers7725 I am wondering during the rooting process of approx 1 month. Would you mind sharing with me if the bottom leaves are drying out? It seems the plants sucking the juice out. Mine has growth on top but bottom started to dry out one by one. Healthier chubby on top tho.
@@ethan2104 yes it normal to dry out the bottom leaves. They use it for rooting processing and you will notice if there is a new growth on top it’s working. They grow fast in colder season in summer they are dormant. I’ll show you soon in my new video

I have one that is doing very well. It’s been with me since May and is small, about 6 leaves total. How long should it take to produce baby plants? Does a new plant just appear one day?
