I dont know any reason behind these nerf to dragunov.. they just gonna hate this char, 😢. After WR2 only option is i13 or below, or d2 until they duck it, hatchet is kinda risky. When they duck then launch the mid
that move ain't stupid it requires hard read because it can be caught very easily by alot of moves, it doesn't have armor like king and you can't block in it.
Of course it has its weaknesses but it is a very evasive stance (2:38 My Wr+2 whiffed and he was recovering from a knockdown) with a super long range -13 mid launcher. At round start there is little to no counterplay outside from going with something crazy like a Wr+2. Also King's Jaguar Step (b+3+4) doesn't have armor and Feng can't block anymore during Kenpo
@@thatredcomet the counterplay is just not mindlessly swinging at the start of the round haha. this move is the only realiable whiff punish launcher steve has haha the others he has to rely on ch and without heat it only does like 68 damage max. i dont mean his jaguar step i mean the move where he is charging at you with armour. Idk how this is called tbh. Also i think the range of the lionheart step back got nerfed in 1.04.
@@tristanherb49 "the counterplay is just not mindlessly swinging at the start of the round haha." So there is no counterplay, thanks for confirming that. As Dragunov I don't have that luxury, if I side step I can get clipped by a homing or a tracking move and if i backdash I can still get hit by long range lows like Kazuya's d+1+2 or Jin's d+2. Most characters don't have a get out of jail free card like that while you are taking it for granted. King's Muscle Armor can be baited out or beaten with a throw/low, Steve is a moving target that requires you to commit to something slow with good reach in order to clip him making you vulnerable to stuff like b+1
How do you feel about ff+3 as a way to kind of keep out or check both aggressive and passive opponents, I love the chip on block and it usually surprises ppl
bro im playing dragunov in ranked and i literally cant hit anyone while they just spam fast ass frame traps. i feel slow as hell all my attacks are slow. i dont know what they did but i feel like i need a new main.
I don't know what you mean by slow but are you sure you are not suffering from input lag? Maybe you have V-Sync activated which increases latency, It happend to me in the past
Thank you so far your the only player that goes into depth with dragon. Would love an advanced guide not just a combo but covering cancels outside of sneak like D2 and 44 cancels and running 2 blue spark
@@thatredcomet Not plugged but had some self-awareness instead. You don't rematch the Jin since the skill level was wide but complain that the garyu Kazuya doesn't rematch you. I get it though you had some tilt. Happens to everyone.
@@philippregala997 I didn't insult the guy nor I said that he wasn't supposed to deny the rematch. You are all freaking out because I literally said: "Of course he doesn't rematch". I promise you that the guy didn't lose his sleep after that comment and he is doing just fine. I've seen people in this community sending death threats without anyone batting an eye
@@thatredcomet bro it's not that deep. I'm sure the dude isn't losing sleep over the comment nor should you lose sleep over mine. I'm commenting on your video that it's ironic that you didn't rematch the Jin but sounded annoyed that the Kauzya didn't rematch you when it's a similar situation. I can understand though you were tilted, it's a normal reaction but still ironic.
Well the Jin player had almost double the amount of my Tekken Prowess (255.000 vs 149.000) the Kazuya wasn't that far from me being a 116.000 so the comparison Is honestly a bit unfair, but whatever
So it was a bug all this time! I got this game probably 25 years ago or something and remember that I couldn't get the game to progress past the elevator reaching the top. I ended up returning the game to get a refund but I hated it because I really liked the game otherwise. For all these years I wondered if I was simply doing something wrong or if there was a bug causing it. Now I know!
I really enjoy your videos, especially since im a "returning" T7 Dragunov. But of course im i total beginner, thats why your videos help me so much. Could you make a strategy guide with dragunov how to play him in certain situations? Thats what im struggeling the most with, i know the moves etc. but i dont really know how to play him if i want to pressure the opponent or what i need to do if the oppenent pressures me and so on. Either way, thank you
I pulled the two jack hammer guards into the pit while avoiding falling in. And watched the show from up top naturally the frog attacked them instead of me and they fought the frog valiantly. They put up a really good fight once the battle was over the frog was week enough to taste me light saber with 3 or 4 clean strokes. Give it a try.
Hi, nice vid. I new to tekken 8, and my main is drag. One problem i have right now is i cant launch anyone. I can but its rare as i try to side step after 1,1 or 4,1. Usually sometime df 1 hit but aside from that, its nearly impossible..it hit sometimes but its rare
I made a video on frame traps with a couple of side step setups. Other than that if the opponent doesn't whiff too much he is giving you space to rushing him down with Wr+2, so focus on that. You need to give him a reason to be more aggressive and make mistakes, so stress him with throws, lows and plus on block mids (Wr+2, b+1+2, qcf+4)
LIli is very strong ngl, what rank are you? In general be careful when she goes in back turned stance and try to check her with a Power Crush or a down jab. Lili players will most of the times try to get in to back turned using her backflip (d/f+3+4) so be ready when you block it. Backflip can also be stepped but you need to be careful since it is a natural hit launcher
@@thatredcomet Im in rank Shinryu, i keep getting hit by her lows and also one of her throws that leads into a combo (the one where she bounces on your head and you get launched into a juggle)
@@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- The jumping "throw" is generally used as a panic button if they know you are gonna press, so you need to analyze when she likes to use it. in the neutral the move is very slow (i36) and has very poor range so you should be able to react to it and kbd out of her range. I can tell you that Lili players like to spam it at round start, so be more defensive and don't get baited. As for the lows, I don't know if you already do that, but side step left can evade most of them, her snake edge though (launching low sweep) you need to block it on reaction
My pad controls have 1+2 on R1 and 2+3 on L1 with my index fingers resting on them so access to throw breaks isn't a problem. It's really the lack of clarity on how the throws are telegraphed. In match it can be really difficult to tell, it becomes a lot easier when you actually learn the throw based on its animation.
As someone that played a LOT of Tekkens 1-5 as a kid and dropped off from the series until recently, this video was really helpful. Reassured me that my approach to getting back into the basis was right, and pointed me in a few more directions. Thanks!
Thanks again for all the coverage! I'm sticking with Drag even post nerfs, character is too cool, but definitely time to re-think some options. Appreciate you covering this in an easy to follow way and comprehensive way!
