If you're referring to the right side of the displa,y there's an easier way to take it out. You can insert a long zip tie from above the display, next to where the display clicks onto the dashboard, and use the side wall of the dashboard to guide the zip tie until it appears bellow. the you just need to pull both ends od the zip tie towards you. I wish I could come up with this 1h earlier and without my fingers becoming all bloody.
To diagnose and address the issue of random shutdowns, you can start with a couple of key steps: 1. Begin by inspecting the fuel supply. This can be done by detaching the pipe that runs from the pump to the injection rail. This will allow you to check if there's an issue with the fuel flow. 2. Next, examine the timing belt as this is a common cause of random shutdowns. Carefully remove the timing belt cover, which is located on the right-hand side of the engine. This will give you access to inspect the belt for any signs of wear or damage. It's important to note that if the timing belt is indeed broken, avoid excessively cranking the engine. Over cranking with a snapped belt can lead to further damage to the engine head and other internal components. It's crucial to handle these components with care to prevent additional issues.
Where did you get your information ref the 645 relays Red position is starter notor and lower Blue position is fuel pump. Are you certain this is correct information? as you maybe on the wrong relay
Hi, did you ever sort out this problem?,did you make sure the starter motor is correctly making good earth to the engine or car body? What was the fix if any ? Not sure why you think fuel pump relay is related l don't think it is.
Yes it was the relay, I have come across this many times not only golf even in Passat, touran etc. if it’s starter motor it won’t turn, given that your battery isn’t flat.
Did this part fix the hunting idle also was that glow plug flashing light disappear after wards ? I have exactly the Same problem. My one is hunting and glow plug light flashing however it does not stall.
I got another problem…im using the connects2 in my corsa D, didnt cut any wire but my ACC (stand 1/on when turning the key) doesnt work anymore. When putting the key on 2 with all control lights on dash, everything works. I need the radio work on ACC, any ideas?
That was the amplifier for the radio. The blue cable coming out of the radio is called "remote" and it gives power from the radio out to whatever you need (originally the antena motor to raise it up, later on the amplifiers for antena or subwoofer or whatever). The red cable coming from the ISO connector to the radio is the ignition: you get +12 volts on that when you turn your car key. It is recommended that you do NOT mix them as you did in the video because you may want to turn the radio off while driving, and this connection will keep on powering the antena amplifier even if the radio is off, as long as the key is in the "on" position.
in order to get the clock/climate display after installing a 2din without the connect2 kit... can i figure out what wires to put together (the green plug coming from the display and the iso connector from the radio? checking the wires with multimeter while pressing on climate buttons? any ideas?
Mk4 golf pd150 owner here. this light flashing is 100% brake switch failure. Had mine go at 130k miles. Also esp light can/will come on sane time. About £30 part plus fitting
Thank you so much man, I just noticed that my brake lights are on when I’m not pressing the pedal, so you must be right. I think you just saved me a lot of headaches.😁
To fix steering wheel, connect the KEY1 (pink) comming from the radio connector to purple from the SW connector. Picture in comments. And thanks for the anthena hack! I had the same problem and also can't adjust the time or date. Holding MODE should work but doesn't, probably bacause it's connected directly and not through the Canbus.
Same here can't adjust the date while i can config the sw butons in swc app, how to connect the 2 wires swc+ and swc gnd in the canbus if i don't have a plug ? How to know which pin to use
Sup bud! I have a golf mk6 1400 highline, Im facing an engine start problem aswell, I got my battery checked and it was as good as new, when I turn the ignition the dash keeps turning on and off and there is no crank at all, I just have to wait till the dash fully turns on and the battery light turns on then switch and it works, but makes noise as well. Any idea what could be the problem and do you think this could fix it?
I tried putting the gear in D (manually by openning the gearbox and pressing the yellow button) then the dash does turn on but I can't start the car while on D, when I move back to Parking the dash goes back to turning on and off every sec.
Tick tick quick flash on/off indicates either loose connection or weak battery, make sure battery voltage is over 12.4 before you try and turn, when it will get load it does go down but if it goes below 11.5v it will do the same. But again make sure this relay is pushed down, take it out and push it down. Lastly it could be starter as well. When you try and turn and it makes noise but won’t turn but makes noise first time and next time it starts it’s definitely starter
@@Motorsexpert I went and checked my battery, it is 100% as good as new. I also fixed the starter and now there is no tick sound but still the car takes time to turn on, sometimes dash keeps restarting (all electrics in car) and I have to wait until battery light turns on dash then switch the key. No idea what could be the problem, some days it works perfect and some it takes time to run.
What happens if you have changed this fuel suction control valve and had it remapped to learn it’s values and still revs up and down on its own. Up over one and drops below 0.5
How should someone replace that motor? It is burried underneath the dash. Even if it doesn't work at all, just spin it by hand until air comes out in all directions.
My does switch to Tiptronic mode (A6, 2005), but doesn't seem to change "gears". Maybe I am doing something wrong, no idea. Only tried it once so far, maybe will try it out again in a next few days.
Hi, I have the same car, double din radio and issue and this has helped, I also have the same problem with the steering wheel controls, whave you managed to find a solution?
