Previously Chewing the Fat until it was rebranded to Legends with Bevo in late 2019, media personality Bevan 'Bevo' Jones lifts the lid on the real stories behind the headlines uncovering the ultimate highs and tear jerking lows of a variety of guests as they share their stories.
On Comedy Legends with Bevo, Bevo chats with big timers and up and coming comedians and hears their wild tales from touring the world to touring the brokedown pubs of Australia (and a few weddings, corporates and cruise ships in between).
On our special edition show, ‘The Road to Tokyo’, Bevo chats to past and present Olympians to get a real insight into what it's like to compete for their country on the world's biggest stage.
Well done! Brian is a real asset to our league here. Very kind man. I wish the AFL were on TV here more than it is, so more Americans would know what it is. We do have 50+ clubs, but most of them don't have enough for a full side.
He was so good , it is just sad with management and things outside that ended his career. But he was so classy and super cool , his reaction to taking a wicket was fantastic.
When I saw him in 1988 against England, I thought he was the classiest batsman I’d seen. He was magnificent. Bad decisions seemed to let him down, but on his day he was high, high class with gorgeous technique. Tom Graveney was almost having a toss on camera when commentating, he was that impressive!
Wonderful interview and a great insight in to why the West Indies team were at the top in the 80s and 90s. He was a batting Masterclass himself and elegant stroke maker. A cricket legend from a great side and great era. Some honest answers and so humble in this interview. Top Sportsman. Thank you for the memories Carl. Test Match and One Day Allrounder. As Geoff Boycott used to say in commentary, his favourite lollypop bowler. Players could not take him so lighty as he will get you out when you least expect it. His contribution with that bat made the middle order strong even in the later years with Lara and Chanderpaul. Once all these players had retired, The Test side and the One day sides of the West Indies have declined, with only success in T20. Although The West Indies team are still up there as winning 5 ICC Tournements. There is a long way to go before they can be at the top again. As Carl said, Got to see it from the early level. The System has to be there in place to create new legends in Test/One Day/T20.
I've always loved Phil Liggett's commentary, but I have not followed cycling for many years, and I never had any idea he was such an amazing human being. Fantastic interview.
2010 TDF stage 20 on the Champs-Élysées, Phil commented live on TV "and where's the Max missile", a milli second later Cav decided to accelerate past everybody in the Peloton and win yet again, as phil commented "and there he goes, nobody can catch this kid", brilliant stuff absolutely UNFORGETTABLE. The best TDF commentator ever, thanks Phil.👍
Glad to hear from you Phil!!!!!!! Save the Animals!!!!!!!! Thank you Phil for all the TDF and all races you broadcasted!!!!!! I grew up listening and following your career.Glad to see you. Be Safe👍🏼
Phil completely abandoned any façade of being a journalist when he covered Lance... never asked a hard question, ignoring a MOUNTAIN of evidence Lance was doping.
I absolutely used to love listening to Phil and Paul commentating together and still do from those archives and Phil currently too. True cycling legends always and forever.
Having been involved in cycling all those decades means he must be the most naive and ill informed commentator around. If he did know the decades of drugs in cycling particularly from the 90s , then he’s a liar just as the closed mouth cheats of today.
By no means is this meant to be negative because I absolutely love Phil, especially when he's commentating with Bob Roll but isn't it amazing how they can make people look on television because man he looks rough right here compared to just a month ago when he was commentating the tour. I hope we have Phil another 50 years!
Along with a large LA fan base + many sports commentators bought into BS and yet he we are still talking about LA. It was all about the $$$$ that the cycling industry marketing drugs and a people who defended LA so all get a cut including your cycling commentators with little or no integrity
"Great to hear from you Phil. I have always been a huge fan of Lance Armstrong. So many people say he raced unfairly because of the doping....I say no. Look at the record....EVERYONE was doping. to me, that makes the playing field level and Lance was the best. The competition was in pedaling..Lance did it best. and in doping...Lance did it best Training...Lance did it best. Remember that all the other pros raced in so many run ups to TdF but Lance didnt do any of them. ALL his training was for only one thing and that was TdF. He had better focus than anyone and it paid off. He's my HERO.
198 entries in ever one of Lance'sTDFs and@196 of 'em we're on somethin'.!! Lance should get all 7TDFc back until Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens and myriad others lose all their records. Enough bullcrap already!!
The clever sayings , like “Oooooh no-He’s in a spot of bother”…. Or my favorite “Sean Kelly’s world number one ranking is beginning to look tarnished….” His voice is synonymous with Pro cycling…. He’s an absolute genius behind the mic!!!
It hit him hard because he had his head stuck clear up his a55 when Lance and everyone else were riding so fast up HC climbs that they to use their breaks in corners.
faced with OVERWHLEMING evidence so insurmountable - Phil Liggett STILL came out supporting Armstrong when everyone else with a brain and shred of integrity KNEW Armstrong doped - Liggett was a toady and mouth piece for Armstrong - even dissing those who stated the OBVIOUS - that makes Phil a blot on history of road cycling because he lacked the courage and integrity to call Lance out and worse - he defended him and accused others who had the balls to call Lance out - so thanks but not thanks Philly - YOU were part of the PROBLEM - not the SOLUTION
