Thank you, I work in a wine shop and have recently completed the my first course on the understanding of wines but they didn’t go too far into wines like these and what grapes are used. Happy I found your channel, cheers.
Bought a bottle of LA RIOJA ALTA S.A. RIOJA RESERVA ESPECIAL 'VIÑA ARDANZA' 2001 a couple of days ago. The Grand Reservas are 890 and 904, though the Especial is technically a Grand Reserva, though not labelled as such. The Especial has only been released 3 times in 70 years, 1964, 1973 and 2001. Looking forward trying this special wine! 😊
Was very interested in the champagne rose and that it uses semi carbonic maceration. Do they put whole berries in the ferment and let fermentation happen inside the grapes and then press at the end of fermentation or blend some carbonic macerated wine in later?
Hi, I mentioned in the video that Rose de Riceys ( which is still a wine) is made by semi carbonic-maceraton. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed after being vinified by a semi-carbonic maceration. BTW, Rose de Riceys, Cotes Champenois, and Champagne wines are produced within a Le Riceys region located in the Champagne area. I hope this helps. Warm regards
