It's as if the themes together are telling us a story that Old Fatalis is the one who rightfully governs the souls of the world, or, Old Fatalis is the great ancient one. In a sense that that it is the origin of all intelligent life forms of the world came from it, none is older than the Ancestral Dragon.

"Name: Ahtal-Ka (アトラル・カ)/Empress' Throne (アトラル・ネセト/女王の玉座) Title: Pavilion Mantis (閣螳螂) Length: 1504.11cm (Ahtal-Ka)/9737.78cm (Empress' Throne) Order: Coleoptera Suborder: Pavilion Mantis Family: Ahtal Habitats: Forlorn Citadel" "In the Schrade Region, while an unnamed hunter was protecting a fortress from Lao-Shan Lung, another unidentified monster attacked a nearby fortress before suddenly disappearing as quickly as it appeared." "The strangest part about this incident was that the unidentified monster took parts of the outer wall and streets, leaving nothing behind as it assaulted the fortress. The fortress guards and hunters were hot on the monster's trail, but it suddenly vanished during the pursuit." "The Hunter's Guild figured since it stole material from the fortress that it was looking to create armor for itself, but couldn't figure out how something so giant could escape without a trace." "Eventually, they did discover where the monster was hiding and was surprised to learn its true identity. Rather than a giant elder dragon, a large bug monster was the creature that raided the other fortress, which is why they had a hard time finding it." "A mysterious monster that wasn't discovered until recently, Ahtal-Ka is a large mantis-like neopteron with a royal appearance. The ancient surface of her shell gives off a mysterious beauty that can't easily be rivaled." "Ahtal-Ka has sharp, sickle-like forelegs that allow her to slash at foes. Although her blades look gorgeous, they have outstanding cutting abilities. Although Ahtal-Ka uses them as weapons, she primarily uses them for manipulating her silk." "Like spiders, Ahtal-Ka produces fine silk in her abdomen. Golden in color, this silk has a crystalline pattern that makes it quite valuable and has amazing tensile strength, making it a useful tool for picking up objects and attaching it to her back." "Ahtal-Ka uses her silk in various ways, often using debris in her environment as a weapon against attackers. She'll either pull an object out of the ground using her silk before attacking or drag one towards her location and attach it to her back." "She often has multiple silk threads spread around her lair, and her silk is also strong enough to hold a whole fortress together. One individual apparently raised up a fallen castle's fortress from the sands with her silk overnight." "Ahtal-Ka is considered to be quite intelligent for a monster, which scares some humans, and this is further exemplified by this monster's mobile nest." "Ahtal-Ka prefers to build her nest with the best possible materials she can obtain. Ahtal-Ka's kind used natural materials like rocks and trees to craft their nests in ancient times, but, as humans further developed, they began to switch to other materials." "Much like some birds, Ahtal-Ka finds that man-made material is better and stronger than the natural material found in her habitat, so she sees human structures as the best option for building the perfect nest for herself, and this is the reason why she raided the fortress." "Depending on the habitat and material available, the appearance and structure of an Ahtal-Ka's mobile nest will vary from individual to individual." "As an Ahtal-Ka grows up, it'll encounter all sorts of creatures and, when mature, it'll base the appearance of its nest on powerful creatures it encountered during its youth. The one we encountered in-game based the appearance of her nest on a wyvern or dragon." "The "Empress' Throne" is controlled by Ahtal-Ka herself. By sticking herself in the center of her nest, Ahtal-Ka is actually capable of fully controlling the Empress' Throne's movements with her silk before crushing foes with the giant contraption." "While in the Empress' Throne, she is practically invulnerable to all incoming attacks, but this nest has one major weakness, however. The golden silk used for controlling it can be cut, which causes her to lose control of her nest if enough of her strands are destroyed." "If a large amount of the silk on the nest is cut, the Empress' Throne will topple to the ground, thus leaving it vulnerable to more attacks, and Ahtal-Ka will have to quickly produce more silk to regain control over it." "Although Ahtal-Ka can still use the Empress' Throne, she can't keep refortifying it. As long as some of her silk remains intake on the nest in combat, she can still use it, but if the Empress' Throne sustains too much damage, it'll fall apart completely." "The Empress' Throne found in-game wasn't completed by Ahtal-Ka yet, and it could've been made two times larger if she was allowed to further develop it. Although it's incomplete, the Empress' Throne even dwarfs Lao-Shan Lung." "When the Empress' Throne is pulled out of the ground, a large amount of sand and silk is sent flying into the air. The strong wind currents will carry this debris into the air, causing the locale's appearance to dramatically change. " "When the young reach a certain age, each one of them will take a single part off their mother's mobile nest before leaving her behind to start their own lives. The taken part will be used by them on their travels." "Athal-Ka produces a fragrant liquid pheromone from her body that's scent can be detected for miles. All of the Ahtal-Ka encountered in-game are female, though it's unknown what a male Ahtal-Ka looks like." " Sources: 1. "Name: Chameleos (オオナズチ) Title: Mist Dragon (霞龍) Average Length: 1993cm - 2000cm or more Order: Elder Dragon Suborder: Unknown Infraorder: Mist Dragon Family: Chameleos Habitats: Verdant Hills, Marshlands, Jungle, Ancestral Steppe, Primal Forest, Everwood, Ruined Pinnacle" "Chameleos is a peculiar elder dragon that is well known amongst the public but rarely ever seen. Due to this monster's many odd abilities, it was extremely difficult for organizations, including the Royal Paleontology Scriveners, to study it in the past." "Nowadays, studies on Chameleos have progressed considerably, and researchers are starting to better understand this mysterious elder dragon." "Like most elder dragons, Chameleos has appeared in a few legends and folktales. In one fairy tale, it is said that a person will disappear if they invoke this elder dragon's anger. Some parents tell their kids this old tale to get them to behave." "Chameleos is known as the "Mist Dragon" due to its ability to become invisible, allowing it to blend into the background of its environment. For a while, it was unknown how Chameleos was capable of such an ability." "One researcher was able to get a skin sample of the elder dragon in the field and performed several experiments on it. This person tried using fire and sprinkling water on the sample, but the skin didn't respond to either." "One day while working on other things in the lab, the researcher accidentally dropped an electro sac onto the sample, and there was a response. The shock from the sac caused the Chameleos skin to suddenly change color." "From the skin responding to electricity, it was theorized that Chameleos has an electro sac, or similar organs, in its body that it flushes with bodily fluids to change the appearance and color of its skin, allowing it to conceal itself in plain sight by becoming transparent." "It was also theorized that Chameleos may have special metallic properties in its blood and that it uses an electro sac, or similar organ, to produce electric shocks that'll lower the reflectance of sunlight and such, allowing it to become more transparent in appearance." "As of now, no electro sacs or similar organs have ever been found inside of a Chameleos. Researchers have various theories on how Chameleos is able to become invisible. " "More recently, it's considered likely that Chameleos uses weak electrical currents in its skin that interact with a mist that it breathes from its mouth, which bends the light around the elder dragon, thus rendering it effectively invisible." "While some researchers were studying Chameleos out in the field, they soon found out that, despite its quirky appearance, this monster is quite intelligent." "For an unspecified amount of time during their expedition, all sorts of items (Medicine, food, research instruments, etc.) began to disappear from their custody. When researchers finally realized that all of their items were gone, they were forced to end their expedition early." "Although Chameleos isn't a very territorial monster, it doesn't like other creatures in its domain. Chameleos has a long stretchy tongue that it uses for snatching up prey, but it also uses that appendage to steal items from unsuspecting humans." "It knows that certain items are important to humans, so it'll steal whatever it thinks is vital to a person. Chameleos does this to make people lose motivation in pursuing it (Many hunters may stop trying to hunt it if it steals something valuable from them like a Max Potion)." "If stealing items isn't enough to make a person give up on chasing Chameleos, it'll use its deadly poison against a threat." "The poison of a Chameleos varies depending on their habitat and the food available in their environment (That's the reason why the 2nd Gen Chameleos and 4th Gen Chameleos are so different from one another. We could technically call the 4th Gen Chameleos a subspecies)." "Chameleos makes its poison by combining its own body fluids with whatever it eats." "When Chameleos (2nd Gen) flaps its wings, it'll often leave behind clouds of poison on the ground. This poison will slowly drain the health of prey and threats alike. It's also capable of breathing a liquid from its mouth that rapidly drains the stamina of other creatures." "The moment this liquid comes in contact with the body's sugars, it'll become lactic acid. The acid will cause severe fatigue to the body. The gas from this liquid can paralyze the vocal cords of humans, preventing people from speaking." "Chameleos (4th Gen) can breathe large clumps of poison out of its mouth that'll explode into a toxic mist that is dangerous to inhale." "It can also breathe a misty poison out of its mouth that can cover a whole area in mist. By using a specialized organ in its body, Chameleos (4th Gen) can spray its poison in a misty form with the help of ultrasonic vibrations." "The mist it breathes also contains a hallucinogenic poison, causing anything that inhales the toxins to see things and believe that Chameleos (4th Gen) really disappeared in thin air." "Since Chameleos (4th Gen) specializes in poison, it has a high resistance against all sorts of poisons. This monster doesn't stay paralyzed for very long." "Chameleos's tail has an odd shape that resembles a leaf. It uses its tail to detect potential danger behind it when it isn't looking back or fully aware of its surroundings. Some also believe that its tail contains the body fluids that it uses to become transparent." "Within Chameleos's horn is a special organ that allows the elder dragon to become invisible. The organ is severely damaged once the horn is broken, meaning Chameleos can no longer completely conceal itself in plain sight. " "Because of Chameleos's amazing camouflage, no one was ever able to give a proper description of the monster in the past since its body was concealed most of the time. These are thought to be a few early depictions of this mysterious elder dragon." "Recently, it was found that Chameleos has a close relative known as Namielle, the Abyssal Dragon. Order: Elder Dragon Suborder: Unknown Infraorder: Abyssyal Dragon Family: Namielle" " Sources: 1. Monster Hunter 2 2. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite 3. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate 4. Valstrax *has to be* the "fan favorite" monster mentioned on the roadmap. Why? - He's adored by the community. - People have been wanting him for ages - He could easily fit in with the current power scale of monsters in the game - He would be a lot easier to implement than most of the other possible fan favorites. Imagine if, just as a teaser, when the Raging Brachydios & Furious Rajang update drops, a red comet can rarely be seen flying across the horizon. Imagine how people would lose their fucking minds seeing that and knowing what's coming.
I also think it will be Valstrax. The only other fan favourite I can think of is Gore Magala (and Shagaru), but all it's lore would be too complicated to be implemented just into the free title update. Whole MH4 story was about Gore.
