Sorry for the late reply, but yeah I like seeing stuff like this on Amtrak. Someday we will never see the metrolink cars again as they will eventually all be re-done.
@cactusrailfan31 It's alright. Yeah, the Bombardier Bilevels are my favorite passenger car. It may be unlikely, but I kind of hope we meet again, I had fun talking to you even tho it wasn't really that long.
4 sleepers and 5 coaches? We have not seen that in a while. I wonder if any of them are dead heading or if Amtrak actually sold that many seats and sleepers. I kind of miss 2020-2021. That was a fantastic time to ride the western long distance trains (minus the lack of meals). Usually 1 sleeper and 2 coaches and you had the entire train to yourself.
I am wondering is Amtrak is experimenting with longer trains again, they have had an extra sleeper all summer and brought back the baggage car. I do think a few cars on this train were just deadheading though.
I like your dual camera setup over the typical pan shot others do. It gives a nice coming and going perspective. Thanks for the uploads and keep 'em coming!
Great to see ATSF locomotive 2926 back in operation again and hopefully this year the locomotive will have a chance to finally start hauling excursion trains.
Did they cast a new base and well for it, or did BNSF take it to the museum with the concrete battery well and footing as well? It's always cool to see a fellow vintage railroad tech guy.

@@cactusrailfan31I’m not involved in this group, but folks from the society have said that they are working with BNSF and the New Mexico DOT on excursions. As well as Amtrak to use to Albuquerque station for the starting point of excursions.
@@chooch1764Yay! That's awesome. Hopefully, in that case, while mainline excursions might not happen, at least it can then do mainline ferry moves to visit willing shortline and excursion railroad hosts
Oh my GOD of All Machines! What a smart and *well-behaved* locomotive! I know its unburdened but still the responsiveness of that loco to throttle and break inputs between 3:50 and 4:27 is *unbelievable*!
