Civil 3D presentations of the class that I offer at the local community college. This information is very basic and intended to go along with a full 2 hour lecture on the same topic using the exact same data set.
Got to the Label Style, should be able to get there with a right click or find it on the settings tab. Once you are in Composer, there is a Tab for Layout and under that will be Text and it will have multiple options, one of them will be Text Height. Set what ever height you want the text to be when it is printed out. If you are having difficulty seeing it in model space you can change the scale of things in Model with the Annotation Scale, try and few till things look like you want. It won't change the print size for the layout tab.
Instead of Freezing and going into the Layer State Manager dropdown (or pop-out) to unfreeze, I prefer to use the Isolate button in the Home tab under Layers. Then using the Unisolate button below it to bring everything back after making any edits. It seems to work smoother than isolating layers by right clicking in the Layer State Manager.
Sir , Is there any provision in software to view particular point group on the screen? Like layer on /off toggle button in Auto Cad. ( With out using No Display style with None option.)
When I try to select a contour it selects the surface which is all the contours. When I have the label command active, I can't select a contour, it shows a horizontal line like I missed the contour. When I explode the surface, then I can select one contour but it won't label it because it lost the surface elevation. I have searched a lot but can't find the answer. Please advise. Thanks, Jerry
This video is great!! thanks.. But I think there is a "missing" video that should be between part 2 and part 3, because on part 3 we start already with a corridor for the roads

Sub'd... Awesome tutorial. Accurate, brief, concise. I'm assuming you used "Pad" grading style for the bottom infill of the pond or did C3D default to that style?
I'm using a large Lidar topo for the county I'm working in, and I keep getting fatal errors. I've tried joining the contour lines and trimming out what i don't need, but I'm still getting the fatal error. Any suggestions?
Legend. This is really well explained and illustrates a number of features of C3D in a way that is very easy to understand. Very much appreciate you taking the time to upload. Have a great day. Cheers!
