Finally fixed it. When these things don’t pop in it’s a nightmare. Easy fix: get a pair of long nose pliers. Hook one end between the 2 fixed clips at the bottom. Hook the other end onto the springy part opposite it. Squeeze so you gently pull the springy part TOWARDS the two fixed clips. Now seat the hinge. If it seats but is a little loose, push the springy part gently AWAY from the two fixed clips and try again. Should sit in there perfectly
Thanks to those who pointed out that the roundish little spring/clip is the culprit and the source of my frustration trying to install this little sucker. I used long nose pliers and adjusted the opening, lifting it up, and that worked for me.
I have cabinets that do not have a square opening for the Blum to attach to but rather an oval space,,, any suggestions on the correct damper spec from Blum?
Thank you! The soft close fell out of my IKEA kitchen, and I had no idea where and how to put it back. Thanks to the video: just click it on the hinge. So easy. Cool.
OK I agree it’s a mech prone to malfunction but mainly because of variation in the optimal spring position and/or shape caused by mishandling or improper installation. The solution was to force the spring (with a small flat screwdriver) back and over small stop bar so it’s rearward then crimp it slightly with pliers until it came up above the level of the outer shell. I did this because I stopped the vid on the frame that showed the demo closer- and it looked different to mine. So I reinstalled as per vid - hey presto clicked in and hasn’t come out again. Hoping this helps and yes it took a while to figure.
Vive Mc Gyver :)
So i also had a problem and ended up here. Uninstalling is super easy - all it took me was hitting it accidentally with glass of coffe. Installing.... 30 min and searching for images etc. Like someone here wrote there are 2 static `hooks` and one which needs to get in first `small metal part on the middle`. In my cases that middle one was a bit... deformed - had to squeze it `reshape it`. But i will say - easy with it, the material looks like few reshapes can break it.
I had the same problem as some of you guys, which was not being able to install the clip-on. After a lot of lost nerves i found a solution. There are three part's on the inner side that are supposed to go in the hole of the hinge. Two are parallel, those are fixed, but the third one is supposed to be bend over towards the other two. In my case, it was not bent enough, therefore didnt fit in the hole. Hope this helps.
