Good review Jake. It would have been interesting to have alternated the shots between two targets, one with the Infiray fitted and one without. Just to see if there was any difference in the groups. Keep up the good work.
I have gone up to around 14x mag and still found it comfortable to use. I have another video in progress on some new adapters for the mah50 so will also include going to max magnification on two different scopes 3.6-18 / 5-25 🤙
Any segment like that in any of my videos firearms are cleared safe no magazines inserted and firing pins are dropped so all is safe normally I state this in the video. If I’m shooting on any ranges or another setting bolts open and breach flag inserted. You are safe behind the screen don’t worry.
Minimum mag you can use is 1x. One of my good friends used a 1-6x vortex LPVO with his Mate 50 (Dan from Gun-tec in shobdon Hereford) in regards to POI shift I’ll be filming a new video as I have just got a new QD style adapter system to attach it to my scope so will be able to show the grouping between multiple shots
Cheers Ricky. It’s a custom rifle I had built by Brock and Norris. The action is the new Gunwerks GLR action with a proof carbon sendero barrel chambered in 6.5 creedmoor.
Hi Jake How old was the update for your TH50 V2?? I had mine nearly a year now and I've only had the one update which was not long after I got the unit! I noticed your update mentioned the Bluetooth connectivity to the LRF! This is one of my biggest gripes with the unit and the LRF as mine is always dropping connection! Cheers
Hi Stephen. It is the update from the 1/4/24 I never updated my unit from when they first arrived In country until now as I had no need as I don’t use the LRF as my spotter has LRF inbuilt.
@@JakeBurgessOutdoors Nah i'm in eu. Looking for a compact wide fov spotter, pulsar xq30 pro or iris il19 seems just the right thing. Both were at IWA 2024, but still not in local shops...
Great video so far...halfway through!! Quick Q - what mag ranges are you using for the optic before the picture becomes pixelated? Could you comfortably use the scope at say 10x-14x with this front add on and still have good resolution?? Cheers
Around 9-10x may the pixelisation is visible however the unit is still usable and Identification is still possible at the higher mag ranges at distance.
Nice vid Jake, really enjoyed this one. Might have to sell my Pulsar C50 and put the money towards an MAH50. I wonder if at some point front clip-ons will become so good that manufactures abandon dedicated thermal and NV scopes and focus on producing just front clip-ons?
I was always sceptical of clip ons in the past but this unit has restored my confidence in them. I’m planning on doing a video stretching the unit out at distance to show how accurate it really is. As the tech gets better it will be cool to see where the manufacturers take it that’s for sure!
What call gadgets do you use? That would be a nice video too and how you use them. Got one fox with the nordic fox heat call few weeks ago. Its been -20 to -30°c here so no stalking for now but this week should be better i hope.
Sorry but I disagree. I hunt Greys and Reds along with coyotes for 30 plus years. Fox are soft and doesn't take much to put one down with good shot placement.@@Baileysshooting
