I can eat acidic fruits - mostly oranges, everything else? Is a risk...But the vinegar really helps. I've also discovered that along w/ vinegar, acidity helps, at least for me. Can't eat most apples except really crisp green, Granny Smith apples, and usually w/ a squirt of lemon on sliced apples
Thank you for making this video and explaining Oral Allergy Syndrome. Some hacks that I use - eat a piece of peppermint candy or a piece of bread after eating fresh foods. You really gave an excellent explanation. I went to a new primary care physician and told him about my food alergy and he was highly alarmed. Now, I can tell him about Oral Allergy Syndrome or Pollen Allergy Syndrome. I am going to try your suggestions for stopping the allergic reations. Basically, I can eat cooked or processed fruits and vegetables without a problem. If the fruit or vegetables are canned I have no reaction. I guess the frozen fruits and vegetables are processed and I usually cook them further anyway, that is why I don't have an adverse reaction. You mentioned using vinigar, I am going to try lemon juice, maybe the acid will help. When I was a child I could not eat raw at all. When I was a young adult, I discovered that I could eat raw vegitation in moderation, but I reached a point when I would have the reaction. At that point I could eat banana's sometimes. Now, I can eat Granny Smith Apples, but other apples make me feel nausous as soon as I chew and swallow them. Sometime, I get the alergic reaction as soon as I put the raw food in mouth, but sometimes I get the reaction after a few bites and swallows. I feel nausea primarily, but if I keep eating I will start to feel the itching in my throat. I usually don't feel itching on my gums or closing of my throat, because I usually stop eating the food when I feel nauseous. At that point I eat peppermint or bread.
Omg you have absolutely help my life. I had no idea what I was experiencing until I saw this. The only thing I don’t experience is swollen but the nausea is the worst…Thank you
These are amazing hacks. Thank you. My daughter has just started getting oral allergy syndrome and I will be implementing these to help her enjoy the foods she loves.
You're right I was looking for a pre-love speedy and most of them have pen ink and even so, they sell at exaggerated prices 😱 in the end I found a speedy monogram 35 in good condition and a good price! thanks for the tips 😊
I like this, but it’s not available🤷🏻♀️ I find D&B currently collection doesn’t compare to their collection 2-6 yrs ago. Maybe they have a new design team!
Thanks for this. I have also been diagnosed with OAS. I can eat berries still, but started having really bad reactions to tree fruits and certain nuts over the last 4-5 years. (In my 40s). I’ve been told I can eat cooked fruits but my reactions are so bad I am afraid to try. I just avoid them all together. And I’ve always been allergic to avocados and cantaloupe since I was a child. I do miss apples watermelon and cashews ECT. So very much.
My daughter is allergic to both birds and Ragweed so her selections are very limited to say the least. It is very hard to eat healthy... I wish there was something we could do.
i agree i love the 35 but it is huge but the 30 is small and actually feels heavier when my things are in it. i wish the 30 was a tip bigger i have ebene speedy b my fil thought it was a duffle bag lmao not my pocketbook.
Wow this is very good and I will try the honey and yogurt thing in a few minutes when preparing my kids school lunch and snack.. When i was 9 years old, by this time I was eating every kind of fruits. Apples, Bananas, grape fruit, kiwi's, orange/tangerines, grapes, watermelon etc.. Then one day I followed some kids to this tree that a lot of kids use to go and pick berries straight from the tree and eat.. So me seeing this and being a follower thought it was a good idea try these what seemed to be very delicious and satisfying berries from this tree in our neighborhood park. Within minutes I began to feel sick and very nauseous. My body instantly starting heating up and I felt weak/ fatigue, and faint. I then started to vomit right there in the park and immediately starting scracthing my thought neck and upper chest area while scratching my throat with my throat making that unmistakably sound one makes when doing this oral movement... Ive had seasonal allergies ever since and cannot eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and peanuts (which includes a slew of other products that has what Ive just mentioned in them) without getting sick and itchy etc... I have always notice that when I mix these with other things I can not have such devastating results yet still would get a few symptom's which is still discomforting... I did the Benadryl thing for years but got annoyed with falling asleep shortly after taking them. I will be 38 years old in March.. So with all that being said, I want to genuinely Thank you Queen for sharing... Hope all is well.... Blessup!
I’m confused… so there’s 2 mediums, just ones called a satchel and ones called a messenger..? I feel like from what I’m seeing online people aren’t aware of this and are mislabeling.
I have this. Nobody will do the surgery on me because i take Coumadin. Thank you for your video. I thought i was the only one in the world who had this. I use an afo brace to walk. It's horrible. Best to you on your recovery.
Thank you for this video. It just popped up on my screen For "decades" I too have suffered with Hay fever. No other allergies. However, about a month ago, I had a horrible reaction to fresh figs. (Itchy throat; tongue, mouth, lips swelling, and blisters) Then about a week later I had the same reaction to arugula ! Then - a.few days ago, same thing with pumpkin seeds ! It's horrible. Thanks for the tips. I have read cooking the fruits & vegetables helps.
Thank you for your important and helpful video. Just wanted to mention if you have a latex allergy be cautious eating tapioca and cassava to include boba tea pearls.
This was very helpful. I recently saw a food allergist because I have no food allergies but was having these symptoms. Didn't know this was what was happening so its nice to have some hacks ready.
My thing is leafy greens. I love them, I love leafy greens so much but every time I eat them it’s irritating to my throat. Now I’m thinking maybe I’ll freeze my salads and see if that helps.
Great tips and thank you! My son has this allergy. At first, I thought he was being a picky eater, a little over a year later he went to an allergist to confirm the diagnosis. We have found that we can wash strawberries and apples in a 3/4 water + 1/4 vinegar soulution and it takes away his symptoms. I think the vinegar breaks the chemical bond. Also cooking all of the items works as well (Fruits and veggies).
I have this too.. I was told I developed it because I ate too much of the same foods.. 14 Mangos in one day. True story. Also the daily work salads have me allergic to Spinach and Arugula now too.. have to carry and épi pen. I was also told by my allergist that I could eat anything cooked, but I’ve been to afraid to try. Was thinking of making mango jam so I could go back ti enjoying my favourite fruit.. anyone have any experience with cooking fruit and not getting a reaction?? Appreciate your feedback 😊
I've had OAS for a few years and my parents thought I was trying to avoid eating healthy until I ate a piece of watermelon and my lips doubled in size. Since then I've been trying to find ways to eat healthy and frozen fruits and vegetables did work, I haven't tried the vinegar or leaving them out but I will try that. I'm glad I'm not the only person with this though! Btw I have a reaction to almost every fruit and vegetable except for some nuts, peppers and pickles (probably because of the brine)
I have this horrible condition. Non of these hacks work for me. I take a zyrtec every day but it really doesn't do anything. I've just been avoiding all raw fruits and veggies, sauces, spices and nuts.
You keep suggesting that something must have been replaced. No. It’s just great quality. The only time people normally replace is when natural leather gets to dark. Or zipper is broken which is rare.
My knee scooter has been the best thing I ever discovered! I recently had a posterior tibial tendon graft repair on my left ankle. I am just at the beginning stages of healing. In 2012 I had a stress fracture on my right foot and was in a boot cast far too long, so no stranger injured foot.
