Way it was bought, even if the bar was dropped, changed, adjusted whatever suspension flexes and the bar pulls and pushes the rear out of alignment on a leaf spring vehicle ,been working on jeeps about 30 years and every YJ has always had the track bars pulled and tossed in the scrap pile,do what you want but from 1942? To 1986 no track bars
@@THEJERK67 i think they added them on there with the YJ cause the CJ had so many accidents and lawsuits. Some crap about safety. I'm just saying, they don't do THAT much to hinder stock suspension. They definitely make em ride like complete shit tho. And when compared to something with coil springs, they are seemingly useless. Are they on my YJ? Absolutely not.

If you are still using the Solargizer, what’s your opinion on keeping the health of the battery up to par? It’s primary use is to prevent crystal formation between the plates and shorting out the cells.
All I can say is I have not had issues with the batteries being low ,which can be the batteries being good or the panel keeps them up, I have a large panel on the Humvee it puts out power If the batteries become low or imbalanced it can destroy the start box from what I've read , the newest smart start box are supposed to have fixed this issue but idk and they are expensive Also I use optimas in this truck, I also have an m37 with a small solargizer and optima style batteries I also have a military generator with cheap wet batteries that I have a small solargizer on and it always starts

Have you added star washers to the antenna mounts to body bolts? Technically that ground braid should go to the bolt that mounts the offset mount to the body. I have an older zip tie gun from the Bell System days, tension is a bit loose, tried adjusting but no luck. Bought an "inexpensive" Ty wrap installation tool from Tyco back in the days, it’s a manual device that grips the tie and allows the user to determine tension and when you are satisfied with tension just twist the whole device and it cuts the wrap.
I believe I did go back and add star washers I have boxes of them lol I've also changed that driver's side antenna to a newer version that takes a fiberglass style whip
Nice you made video to help others. I been showing people in person for years. Done too many - haha. Inwent from the crank tool to an “endless” - not just cheaper but easier. Cutting to length was the key. Then guy on a forum posted video he found and its genius easy. I won’t rip mine out with truck like that one video but do strap tire and use come-along and it pulls out super easy. A buddy of mine uses his 4 wheeler winch. To put back in- just a piece of 4x4 square tube and bottle jack on top. Extend bottle jack so its egg shaped and slip it in. Then release jack. Done. INSANELY easy install. Here is the dude that figured that part out - m.ru-vid.comVw5RhUZ7v9Q
Some of the 1995 and 2002 mfg M1025A2 chassis SF Ground Mobility Vehicles GMV sold off of Letterkenny had the B Pillar horizontal altered similarly, cut away according to the diagram then a piece of bent aluminum was welded between the C channel along the back with 2 flanges at the angled points that fit overtop the C channel, It was welded on by a few tacks along the length, not the entire cut edge.
I can confirm this also works on a 91 4 cylinder yj with the early gauges, we did my brothers today, his sender was previously replaced and only went to 3/4 , after we did this he went and filled with gas and it goes to full
I just went and filled up the gas gauge now goes all the way to full ,I was between 1/2 and 3/4 and it took 7+ gallons and also I did not have to fight the gas to go in I am using a 20 gallon sender
Thanks for taking the time to show and tell us about this process. I didnt know abot the 93 hinge bushing change and the red lock tite from the factory. They went overboard with the seem sealer in the eary days. I bet there was blow back from shops and people trying to change the hinge to the polished stainless steel units that where so popular back in the day.
Right there with you on the stuff buddy, I don't even have a shop and people bring shit to me thats been worked on by every shop in the area thats jacked up. Do it right the first time and take pride in your work. Hell you can't even go through a drive thru and get your shit right. Sad world we live in.

@@THEJERK67 yeah same thing here in my area, last alignment machine I used was the hunter dsp400. Ive used the old bear string style and ammco magnet gauges yrs ago. Someone I used to know had a Toyota V6 engine rebuilt that belonged to a 4Runner. He paid 4K on a high quality rebuild but it had problems. So I took a look at it. I found that the only work done to it was new head gaskets and an engine paint job to make things look new. There was coolant in the oil pan. massive vacuum leaks and the quality of labor was worse than unskilled. He showed me the receipt from the shop with all the items they claim to replace. I decided to take a drive with my buddy that owned the Toyota to the shop so I can complaint and make threats. Well, the shop was completely gone. There was no trace of any business existing on that lot. Scammers are out there.
I had something similar happened to my brother with his Dodge pick up. He blew a head gasket so he took it to a shop to have a new head, gasket and pair of heads put on it. After sitting at the shop for a week, the shop told him he needed a new engine because the motor was bad. So he okayed to have a new engine put into it. So they took his engine transmission and transfer case and swap it out with not a Dodge. But a Chevrolet big block that was seized solid due to sitting outside full of rainwater. Turns out they sold his small block. Transmission and transfer case plus the $15000 for parts and labor. For a truck That mostly just needed a head gasket and heads.
Yeah they told him his original engine had a dead cylinder but no explanation why, probably needed a valve or valve spring ,you can't just have a cylinder with no compression for no reason
" Rebuilt " - were the heads EVER removed ? See if you can determine if the bolts were removed . Possibly by looking in the valve cover through the oil filler with a bore scope / camera . " Rebuilt " with a can of orange spray paint !
I'm gonna pull the carb I'm pretty confident the gasket under it its causing a vacuum leak just had same issue on another friend with a sbc and a qjet, I'll also probably pull a plug and scope a cylinder see if it's got cross hatch in cylinders or smooth wore out smh fingers crossed,I did run the numbers the engine is what they told him
I wouldn't say the shop was bad I would say a young mechanic you don't know nothing about the old cars he is probably a computer guy who has to do everything off of a computer it tells them how to do it plugging in plug here plug there comes the older cars I don't know what to do they're lost I was in that I had a truck for about for 3 weeks until I got it back when I had time to fix it so the internet goes both ways the older mechanics can't get to take can't use permanent text on these plastic gaskets And the newer mechanics can't figure out mechanical problems until a computer tells them but then again though they should have a supervisor or an older guy or a buff don't let the garbage like that go by
@@THEJERK67 very kind of you sir to spend 30 hours on this thing, hope he's buying you some beer too. Makes me sick to know a "speed shop" could charge for such shoddy work.
You're absolutely correct. It only takes a few extra minutes to do things correctly instead you have Sapegtti mess of wiring. Let alone all the rework. These are very basic engine-rebuilding skills. I agree with you 100%.
Looks great. Nice and clean. I have a 94’ 2.5 liter. They run pretty well with the stock size tires or a little larger. I have 29” on mine now. It was night and day before I put the smaller tires on. The engine doesn’t have a ton a power, but the thing will climb a tree. It’s a good Jeep for the woods. Like you said, keeping the weight off of it like a winch and big tires help the 2.5l when on pavement. I was also going to ask if it was an Islander. The color reminded me of one. Looks nice.
Best thing i did was ditch those pos goodyear wranglers and go with the bf goodrich bajas .. sidewalls are WAY easier to work with getting those inserts in. Ride is worlds better also. Also when you’re compressing the inserts make sure theyre folding at the cut out for the valve stem.. lets them fold a little easier
