When it works, its nice. Like you said, I think it is also a good introduction to a new class for leveling etc. I think it is a pain to get working and keep it working. There are not very many sequence authors, so you're kind of locked in to that persons build if you happen to find a sequence for your class/spec. If you want to customize your spec, be ready to spend a long time getting your sequence to work properly. If you're changing specs a lot things will just randomly stop working. The sequences from lazy macros are sketchy and out-of-date often times because wow patches a lot and authors don't keep their sequences up-to-date. Also, the sequences from author to author often require specific steps to get it working properly and sometimes those steps are unclear or just inaccurate.
No, because it's not working properly, so no one cares about it and it's a 10 Year old AddOn... It is "kinda" working for completely new players if they have NO idea... maybe... but definitely not for anyone else, especially not for "skilled" players!
Not a new addon, nor community. lazymacros has been around for years now. It's a great addon for those who have a disability or issue with multiple button pressing or just want to actually look at the screen while playing... it is NOT a game-changing addon for regular players, nor should it be. At best, it might be able to pull top 10% parses, but that's not the reason for it. No new (non-disabled) players should use this, instead they should be learning their classes. People who make hype videos talking about how this is a must-have for everyone or a game-playing addon risk making it unavailable for those it was designed for.
Thanks for the video. I think it was really well done and refreshingly straight forward. If nothing else, this addon is good just to know what your rotation should be, approximately. I, personally, can use all the help I can get as things get complicated for me with rotations, talents, etc. I no longer have the fresh brain of a 22 year old gamer. So I will use the addon, but probably only so I have an in game list of recommendations for my various rotations and talent set ups. This is something that is severely lacking in the game itself and that is a travesty.
So addons...why take all the fun on LEARNIG thinks.....this bull shit should be out of the game, this is the REAL problem with this generation, all is easy push one button etc etc.....this make ppl dumb. USE YOUR BRAIN PEEPS, learn classes, learn the dungs, learn the raids and have fun.
I’ve had multiple top 5% logs on multiple specs in heroic and mythic raid since dragon flight whilst using hekili. I like to seperate the cooldowns from the rotation and you do need a fundamental understanding of the spec and how it works to cheese out when it’s saying something else. I’ve also had rank 1 heroic Sark log on feral Druid with this add on. I prefer using it as my screen is far less cluttered than having for instance luxthos weakaura packages all over the screen. I’ve also hit 3k or over on multiple dps tanks and healers with this add on every season since s1 dragonflight. It can deffo be good if you know how to abuse it but as stated it won’t go a long way to making you better unless you really know how to use it properly.
I just started playing retail when MoP came out. Got decent with guardian druid but new i could get better at my rotation. Found GSE and my dps increased substantialy. I use the streamer feature in details so i can see the rotation it uses. I wont use GSE forever but its teaching me the proper rotation and help me learn when to use kicks and items. I use a moded version of the grizzly hermit sequence. Made my own sequence for buffs and heals as well. I enjoy it.
GSE was released in 2016. It's anything but NEW. Also, it has its uses and place, but by and large it teaches bad habits and trains players to not know how to play their class simply because they downloaded someone's macro profile.
I liked it in dragonflight. One button doesnt work the same anymore with 3.2 and all the videos I watched are way to confusing. I'd like to play DPS but I just dont have the time to figure out the new layout of 3.2.
I’ve heard of this addon before but never put much weight into. However after the video i think i might give it a try for my son who wants to start playing wow. Might give him a better experience rather than dieing all the time 😅
The fun thing is last expansion I was using this almost exclusively for my class and I was top dps all the time in my group, or at least in the top 3. You gotta tweak certain windows on the next press but it is possible to bring the DPS pretty in line with actually performing the rotation. Also a lot require the correct builds and stats.
To be fair, you can use this if you're learning your spec just to see the sequence of abilities go through. Some people find rotation guides a bit too complicated or too much to take in. You can use this for a couple of hours to get the hang of certain sequences, then try them in normal casts and go from there. It's basically learning from examples. Depends on the person's preferred way of learning.
I am 68 years old and have played WoW since vanilla. GSE is for me the only way these days I can play both my Main and Alts reasonably through mostly solo content, delves and followerdungeons without dying every 10 seconds. :) GSE is clumsy and doesn't make any difference between a lvl 81 elite and a lvl 3 pig... BUT.. I can still PLAY WoW. 👍 😁👍
So you can bind the macro to 1 button and then have a MMO keyboard that you can setup to spam the living crap out of that key. Then you just tape it down and drink coffee in low level raids and keys. Basically what people did with Honorbuddy back in the day. Except its an addon running your rotation instead of a bot with a specific rotation script.
Could you turn down the background music the next time, please? Or leave it out (which would be better). Your tip is nice but impossible to follow without turning off sound and watching the AI created subtitles.
Well, with enough game experience you also can do one button macros, this is the same, like i always did when i farmed the leather or cloth from monsters with my rogue, it goes to stealth, it's sapped, pickpocketed, stun locked (cheap shot, mutilate, mutilate, kidney shot for example or depends on the mob what i farmed some more bleed used, and all with the same button from a simple in game macro.. so is the ingame macro are also illegal..? 😂)
I might actually get this add-on to just have it around for casual content like a world quest if I, say, eat in front of the computer, or if I have a cat in my lap demanding attention of at least one of my hands. For any _real_ content, no, probably not a great idea, but I like the idea to not have to stop completely for easy content if I want to sip my coffee or whatever else.
There is no such add-on that does everything by clicking just one button. Rotations can be highly situation and mechanics dependent. GSE and Lazy Macros have been around for ages. They are okay for questing running some N Dungs, but for M+ and progression they are useless.
? I use this lol, I however have a lot of mods for macros, so it just helps clean that up a little bit and saves my keyboard from endless mashin I however don't use one button set ups because mostly they are ineffective at higher level end game content
I can see this being a saving grace for people who have physical disabilities, missing limbs, etc but if your none of those pEople then this will only hinder you
not against ToS... yet 😂 they were debating banning weakauras for how powerful it is, they are def gonna ban the rotation automation addon, only difference between this and botting is your finger on the trigger. on the upside, this makes using a controller easier than ever since you can just map a button to attack and it frees up other buttons for other things.
Latest GSE update breaks all pass edits. You have to redo the whole thing and even mine no longer works. I should try again tonight but as of 2 weeks ago the GSE update broke all sequences and being new to this all have to find the sequences that do work as they did not work 3 weeks ago when GSE got updated
The update worked fine for me, mate. I would completely uninstall and then reinstall to double-check, but I'm guessing the issue is your setup for some reason, not GSE itself. I also installed it about three weeks ago, and have not had a single issue with any update so far.
I played with it on my dk. Your dps horrible using it and you still have to worry about defensive cd's. But I could see it being used by disabled or especially lazy people like me.
I've been looking all over for info on this, thank you for making this video, I'm getting up there in age (still playing my original character from Vanilla) I have severe nerve damage in my hands making my range of motion very slow and limited only being able to reach 1-4 reliably. I canceled my sub last month but I think I'll come back and give this a try, thank you again this gives me hope
I love hekili for learning new classes and stuff. Figuring out why it’s telling me to use x over x and stuff like that. I agree with you that this is more for farming solo content/leveling.
I agree if you are looking to learn a class Hekili is the way to go, but this is certainly a game changer for disabled people fore sure, or turning your brain off farming.
