Absolutely no clue, but hear goes (see what I did there) 1 - digital 2 - real 3 - digital 4 - real 5 - 6 - digital 7 - real 8 - real 9 - digital 10 - digital I was going to say you were playing a mean dirty trick and they’re all digital.
You're a mind reader. Looking at one of these specifically for playing death metal and this has answered all my question. Hadn't had the best experience with one of their cheaper models before but the body shape was very comfortable for fast stuff which was the best thing about them for me, and I was curious to give them another chance. Thanks for doing this video
Nice review. These are the same pickups in what were almost 2k S2 line guitars before the started kitting them out with core pickups. It's the same bridge and the same bridge as the USA CE24 (newer one) It's a steal. Agree on the tuners and I also slapped in an Amazon Brass Block from Musically as I couldn't justify going full Mannmade money on it. Stunning guitar.
I prefer natural necks to gloss finishing. Bolt on is fine too. Assuming the fret work is good, somebody could slap on a couple mods of their choice and have a beast. Those pickups are used in tons of their models including early s2's I believe.
Big time cringe making this cover and using these protests to promote the band. Not even donating the proceeds of this cover on Bandcamp to charities of racial justice? Pathetic. This reminds me of all the scrawny white dudes in 2020 who made their profile picture themselves standing next to burning cars during the riots with their fist raised in "solidarity". Way to make an innocent black man's execution by law enforcement all about you. No really, I'm glad George Floyd's murder gave you an excuse to use all this imagery to promote yourself and record this wack cover, all for your own benefit.
As much as we love crappy death metal, we enjoy brutal death metal, tech death, melodic death metal, gay/Swedish death metal, norweigan death metal, blackened death metal, and Taylor Swift. Don’t forget party death, cavern death, and thrash crossover death metal if you into that
I got this and put a $30 brass block on, tightened springs to hardtail the bridge, put steel gotoh saddles on, swapped stock nut to a genuine prs nut, omega in bridge, air norton in neck, and cut all the tone caps out. I tightened all the tuners so they feel better but they still feel like ass but work. Oh and swapped chrome pickup mounting screws to black.
They knocked it out of the park with this one! I'm not a PRS person but putting quality 1st and cutting costs where they needed is IMO the PERFECT balance. I can work with a quality build and help it out. I cannot start with junk and make it into much of anything but a waste of my time. Got the red one in my basket waiting for it to arrive. Beautiful instrument!
Great video and terrific tones! When I think of Death Metal PRS players first one to come to mind is Ryan Knight from The Black Dahlia Murder! He plays "dad guitars" per the other band members!
Could you tell me what tuning you used for this video? With the amount of distortion used in metal, many guitars just sound generic. This PRS sounded better to me, but I’m really interested to know your tuning. Thank you for making and posting this video!
New player, late Boomer. Bought the Turquoise Satin. It's a beauty. I lesson on a Squier HSS Affinity, and the PRS is my treat after playing the Squier. The wider nut and less radius on the neck makes for easier playing.
funny I was hand me downed a Squier HSS affinity from my girlfriends brother because I figured I wanted to learn and he wasnt using it. I was looking at one of the new sandblasted SE CEs as 'my' first guitar. so wed basically be in the same boat. Why dont you take the PRS for your lessons?
sound wise its kind of get the bite of a orange with the oofff of a boogie. It's a bit more articulate then an recitifer. but not as articulate as a 5150.
Great review. I picked one up a couple weeks ago and it really can't be beat for the price. Also sweet track and playing, thank you for playing metal. Most demos are generic blues rock type stuff, and it was sweet hearing the instrument plays skilfully in this style.
Great video! It took me 11 months to get mine from Moore Music. I think this one is probably the 1st real metal guitar from PRS. Still not cheap at $2700, but much better than 5K+ for a custom 24. You just can't beat PRS when it comes to QC. The guitars are worth what they cost. With all due respect to Dustie's specs....I didn't love the pickups. I've always been an active guy, so I put the Fishman KSE set in mine. This damn thing is a fire breather now.
I wanted one of those so badly after I saw your video back then. I went to order one, but that wait is absolutely ridiculous, so I got an EB MM Sabre instead. Win! I'm happy for you that it's finally arrived.
About a month ago I was down in Texas, stopped in at an EZPawn, New Braunfels Ave, San Antonio, and found a nice Ibanez hollow body and Peavey amp for 200 on the pair. They threw in a gig bag. Everything works great - who can complain about this stuff? Killer pawn shop deals are the future of mankind.
