FYI - X300 and X500 with the respective brush guards work very similarly. A pin is removed and the guard tilts downward, just like this one.

Project Farm did a series of tests comparing Lucas grease to Walmart Supertech grease. The Lucas won in every category handily. I trust Supertech with oils and oil filters but not grease.

Great tractor and mower - in Ireland, we called it a "cutting bar". I grew up with tractors and mowers very like those; this was great to see. Very scenic countryside too. Thanks for the video.

Fantastic video, I can see now what the hype is around Lawn-Boys. Stuffing the muffler between the blade and the deck is a genius idea. I've got a very similar Simplicity, just with a 4 stroke 3.5 hp Briggs engine. I got it on the side of the road for free and got it running and cutting. I can't find anything out about when it may have been made other than that the engine was made in 1969. It also has a similar lever for a self propel feature, but uses a belt to drive the rear wheels instead of what looks to be maybe gears or something on yours? I see that Lawn-Boy made decks like that at least as early as 1965, just looking at random videos, so I imagine it was Simplicity that copied Lawn-Boy? My Simplicity also has an aluminum or magnesium deck (I don't know which) and an almost identical removable steel plate in the top front of the deck that was meant to be removable to attach a bagging chute. It has the same discharge and goofy wheel layout as well. I literally cannot even find a picture or video of one on the internet, but you can find the manual if you search Simplicity 990491, if curious.

I have a 335 with the same problem the only way that I have found to make the belts start turning again is the bumper SCV lever you have to keep an eye on it once you lose it and it gets to that point you can’t get the belts to turn back on, so what I would do as I was making a bale every few seconds I would bump my door closed what to get aggravating, especially was worse. I had to hold the lever whenever I went to tie, but I have a hydraulic tier This year I tied a bungee strap around the lever just a hold a little bit of pressure on, so I can make a bald in peace I’ve had this problem for many years and it’s getting old. I understand your frustration. My next step this winter was to install a stainless steel high pressure shut off Ratt, where the quick connect, meet the rubber hose specifically on the retract line that way when after you get done tying, can you shut your door tight all you have to do is reach behind you and turn the shut off. If you find any solutions to this, please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. and I will do the same.

I have used a sickle mower all my life and still do at 72. Best combination I ever used was a massey harris mower with a 22 massey harris tractor. Ground speed and revs mated so well. Still have the 22 and am fixing it up for use again.

You made right decision bud trust me if u have any issues wit it holler I can probably help I run our 335 from 1991 to 2022 only things I done was new chains and repacked cylinders on gate and 3 bearings and they pretty easy to change .. and I had about half new pick up teeth in it and 4 of the guards... and I had 2 replace cables goin to bale shape indicators and that's it

@billybobs841 25 дней назад
I'm guessing my 335 made about 15,000 I know of and the belts and lift cylinders and a big spring is wat makes a good tight roll bud ..if u get to herring a thumping at times when u rolling get u one of them temp guns and after you run it check temp on every roller bearing the one that hoter is ur problem.. may I ask wat about u gave for 335? I'm thinking of selling myne

Leaven the hay roller goin well help keep loose hay out
@billybobs841
@billybobs841 25 дней назад
The mega wide pickup is a good thing cause it keeps your sides more full and thus makes a better and tight roll that don't squish ... you can see thru the gaps in belts on the deer watch when starting your roll about hay goin to top and make sure you got the tail gate shut completely b4 you start in hay
@billybobs841
@billybobs841 25 дней назад
My new roller is a 5x4 but u can adjust it to wat size u want up to 5 ft tall..if you ever have a roll when verry 1st starting a roll it shoots up to the top rollers you got a problem but they a simple solution it sounds crazy but it sucks tryn to climb on top of it tryn 2 cut and pull the hay out...if u ever need to know ask I'll tell ya

Best baler john deere ever made. Simple bought a good used one in 2003 it is a 92 model. Still baling with it today in 2024. Just keep it up and don't cheap out. If it needs something give it to it. Years later it will keep paying dividents. Good luck with your new green psint.
