Can a Robot have a sense of smell?
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries День назад
Currently, robots do not possess a sense of smell equivalent to that of humans or animals. However, advancements in technology have led to the development of electronic noses (e-noses) that can detect and identify various odors. These devices use sensor arrays and machine learning algorithms to mimic the olfactory system, allowing robots to recognize specific chemical compounds in the air. While these e-noses are still limited compared to biological noses, they have been used in various applications such as detecting hazardous gases, monitoring air quality, quality control in food production, and even medical diagnostics. Research continues to improve their sensitivity and accuracy, potentially allowing robots to have a more refined sense of smell in the future.

The "Turing test," first proposed as "the imitation game" by computer scientist Alan Turing in 1950, judges whether a machine's ability to show intelligence is indistinguishable from a human. For a machine to pass the Turing test, it must be able to talk to somebody and fool them into thinking it is human. Scientists decided to replicate this test by asking 500 people to speak with four respondents, including a human and the 1960s-era AI program ELIZA as well as both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, the AI that powers ChatGPT. The conversations lasted five minutes - after which participants had to say whether they believed they were talking to a human or an AI. In the study, published May 9 to the pre-print arXiv server, the scientists found that participants judged GPT-4 to be human 54% of the time, Sponsored Links Many on Medicare Don't Know About This Benefit (Apply Now) Qualify medicare ELIZA, a system pre-programmed with responses but with no large language model (LLM) or neural network architecture, was judged to be human just 22% of the time. GPT-3.5 scored 50% while the human participant scored 67%. "They can be subject to cognitive biases, bamboozled and manipulated, and are becoming increasingly deceptive. All these elements mean human-like foibles and quirks are being expressed in AI systems, which makes them more human-like than previous approaches that had little more than a list of canned responses." The study - which builds on decades of attempts to get AI agents to pass the Turing test - echoed common concerns that AI systems deemed human will have "widespread social and economic consequences." The scientists also argued there are valid criticisms of the Turing test being too simplistic in its approach, saying "stylistic and socio-emotional factors play a larger role in passing the Turing test than traditional notions of intelligence." This suggests that we have been looking in the wrong place for machine intelligence. RELATED STORIES -AI can 'fake' empathy but also encourage Nazism, disturbing study suggest -'Master of deception': Current AI models already have the capacity to expertly manipulate and deceive humans -MIT gives AI the power to 'reason like humans' by creating hybrid architecture "Raw intellect only goes so far. What really matters is being sufficiently intelligent to understand a situation, the skills of others and to have the empathy to plug those elements together. Capabilities are only a small part of AI's value - their ability to understand the values, preferences and boundaries of others is also essential. It's these qualities that will let AI serve as a faithful and reliable concierge for our lives." Watson added that the study represented a challenge for future human-machine interaction and that we will become increasingly paranoid about the true nature of interactions, especially in sensitive matters. She added the study highlights how AI has changed during the GPT era. "ELIZA was limited to canned responses, which greatly limited its capabilities. It might fool someone for five minutes, but soon the limitations would become clear," she said. "Language models are endlessly flexible, able to synthesize responses to a broad range of topics, speak in particular languages or sociolects and portray themselves with character-driven personality and values. It’s an enormous step forward from something hand-programmed by a human being, no matter how cleverly and carefully." Huge leaps in short periods of time. Do you believe the technology gap being closed will eventually lead to IT jobs being irrelevant? -I am guessing the human to human interaction will always be needed but when it comes to IT jobs purely technology based, without user engagement, do you think those will be obsolete?

Nvidia GPU has been powering cypto mining for years. In recentl years, ASIC machines has been replacing them due to it ability to solve cyptographic faster. Nivida should get into this market using their AI chip, and replace these power hungry machines thats selling for tens of thousands of dollars. Maybe even make the environment a bit greener!

Nvidia has the technological prowess to make significant contributions to the crypto mining industry, especially in terms of efficiency and environmental sustainability. However, whether it's feasible or strategically advantageous for them to enter the ASIC market with their AI chips would require a thorough analysis of market dynamics and technological requirement

@AI_Joyful_Discoveries
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries 28 дней назад
Yes, GPT-4o has the capability to analyze and understand images, allowing it to identify objects, text, and patterns within the visual data. This functionality is demonstrated in various applications where GPT-4o can provide descriptions of images, recognize objects, and even offer contextual insights based on the visual input. The model processes the image data and applies its training to recognize and interpret what it "sees," making it useful for tasks that require visual understanding and analysis.
@eddywong7722
@eddywong7722 28 дней назад
in the vision mode, why gpt-4o can only accept picture, not seeing the object using camera?
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries 28 дней назад
The vision mode may be limited by the input format GPT-4o can process. It's designed to analyze images rather than live feed from a camera.

Can you also explain “Woman Yelling at a cat” meme?
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries 2 месяца назад
Ah, the classic "Woman Yelling at a Cat" meme - a true masterpiece of internet culture. Let's dive into its deep, philosophical meaning! it is a viral image macro that features two pictures placed side by side. On the left, there's an image of a woman yelling, taken from a still of a reality TV show-specifically, Taylor Armstrong from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," visibly distressed and pointing while she yells. She is being comforted by another cast member, Kyle Richards. On the right, there's a photo of a white cat sitting at a table in front of a plate of vegetables, looking confused or nonchalant. This photo of the cat was originally posted on Instagram and became famous for its humorous expression. This juxtaposition creates a humorous contrast between the intense emotional display of the woman and the cat's calm, unbothered demeanor, as if the cat is the cause of the woman’s distress. The meme is typically used to depict over-the-top reactions to mundane or unremarkable problems, illustrating a comedic overreaction. It gained widespread popularity because of its versatility, allowing people to adapt the text to various scenarios in which there's an exaggeratedly dramatic response to a relatively calm or indifferent subject. You should see ChatGPT and Gemini's response.

Can you explain the meme competition of two AI models?
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries
@AI_Joyful_Discoveries 2 месяца назад
Imagine two AI models duking it out in a meme competition. Crazy stuff, right? they creatively respond to popular internet memes to showcase their capabilities in humor and relatability. The format is similar to a game show, set in rounds where each AI responds to a meme prompt, demonstrating how they might integrate AI technology and meme culture. See Round 2 "Woman Yelling at a Cat" meme, where Gemini and ChatGPT offer humorous juxtapositions that reflect their abilities, such as handling vast datasets versus producing lighthearted content like limericks. Final Round presents the "Uno Reverse Card" meme, symbolizing a playful turn of events where both AIs assert that AI-generated memes are the future, ending the segment on a note of parity and continued evolution. This playful interaction between the AIs in a meme format aims to entertain while subtly educating the capabilities and evolving nature of AI in creative fields.
