I think 1980 Derby was won black night with fitsroy Gillespie capital hill second with bimbo third was thunder bird with Karl Brown karl Brown trow away the race by going toe to toe with eclipse with Winston Griffiths

Barring none Chris Armond is the best race caller I've heard and i listen to everything in the US if he had gone international he would be calling the Kentucky derby .

Now,hear i am,searching and found it,about to watch the video,up on there now for the few seconds,i couldnt saw the video,but listening to the legend,"RIP SIR",it becoming so interesting,i almost too nearly curse bd word,because i was laughing so hard on how he was commentating, very fast,n well experience,making it a oneofakind.🙏👏👏👏Am going to continue to listening to the race now n from there's time.

Remember this race very well. As a kid, was just getting into racing during these times and was cheering for Bold Magic. Bimbo would later become my favorite jockey. I remember the local Sunday newspaper featured the Derby prominently along with the Wimbledon Tennis final won by Bjorn Borg.
