Interesting inside line on the last turn. I was taught the v line that runs onto the outside curb and apexes super late. The problem is it’s uphill into the turn and downhill exiting the turn so it’s hard to have confidence until you’ve practiced it many times. Still not sure if it’s always faster since I haven’t trialed and errored it.
great driving. What's your cold PSI # and target PSI in the session? was at Lightning this past weekend and was running hot at 36/37 and was sliding a bit too much and pieces of inner tread started peeling off.
At Lightning I start on the Driver's side at 26PSI and 27PSI on the passenger side, my target is no more than 34PSI hot all around. 36/37 is way too high for the SC3Ss IMO. If your inner tires are delaminating I would check your alignment, too much toe will cause it.
@@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE yeah I def should have started at a lower PSI. My inner tires were looking angry, but less so on the outside. I don't have the track alignment either so thinking i had too much air
The Z06's diver is a friend, he was waiting for me just to study each other's lines. The C8Z06 is in a different league, in no universe I could keep up with it!
Always fun to be on track with you... my driver front tire delaminated during the 5th session, could tell the fronts were done by 4th session. Got an optimal in the :10s but couldn't do better than mid-11s
Great to hang out with you too! Lightning is hard on the driver's front tire, I always rotate left to right after 2 events. I could only get into the mid 12s with an optimal of 1:12.05. Hopefully your next set of tires are 220TW+ so I have a bit of a chance keeping up!
Look at your minimum speed at each corner, for example my minimum speed at T1 is 77.52mph and at T12 is 110.4mph. This is what makes a difference in lap times.
Hey, haven't seen you at the track for a while! I have a Recaro Pole Position with the Recaro brackets and slider and a Planted seat mount. You should test a few brands and sizes before committing, these seats are perfect for my body type/size. I just drove 9hrs to/from WGI with no issues at all.
@@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE we missed you at that last Thunderbolt event (heard you said it was too hot 😏)! We couldn’t make the first few , but we’ll be getting back in the swing of things! Looking forward to getting some laps in together
Nice driving. Was the guy in the C8 new to tracking? He was all over the place. Btw I test drove an SS 1LE but ended up buying a different car - freaking incredible handling on the 1LE. Just blew me away. They are very impressive. I can't even begin to imagine what the supercharged version would be like.
@wadestipp1833, I've been telling guys till I'm blue in the face that C8s handle like trash. They are understeer prone and need tons of setup work to get them to complete a corner. It's not that the guy was a bad driver. It's just a $hit car without throwing camber at it.
There's a front end wreck ZL1 1LE next to where I work at a body shop. Needs a new hood and bumper+radiator and left front wheel assy. The shop told me it was only 10000 if I wanted it. I used to race corvettes and Lotus so this is a hell of a bargain that I may take!
Nice run, definitely felt that title. I thought I'd been inconsistent in my own runs since I'm noticing a little more brake fade and less grip but I blame this summer.
My car was down on power, my data says that my average speed was 4mph slower than normal and my top speed was down by 7mph. My laps times were 3 secs slower than normal.
Not necessarily, my OEM lugnuts swelled a bit due to heat and low quality metal/construction, but I do about 18 track days a year. Normal people don't seem to have an issue...
That Miata is 2500lbs, has a K24 with 250WHP, race tires and an Expert driver, I was lifting on the straights just to stay behind him and try to catch him on the corners at which I failed at...
I hope its ok but I added you as a friend on the garmin app, I am trying to improve day by day and would like to use you as a reference. Especially since we have the same car (mine is an 18)
@@nautilaz C8 is very understeer prone. Those things can't complete a turn unless you are -3.5 to -4.0 degrees of camber up front. This was a case of a decent driver in a car that's in desperate need of setup.
Im a proud owner of a SS 1LE. And I came from a 2020 BMW M2 Comp. The handling of the SS 1LE is just amazing. I look forward to tracking mine in the future.
Why would you post this. It's beyond humiliation. I haven't seen a car driven so poorly ever. Please sell your car to someone that can drive it appropriately. Again, Nobody knows why you would think this was a good post. Was it to show that your car was in limp mode? Maybe you were in limp mode? An LE can beat most all of those cars that passed you so it only shows how shitty of a driver you are. Unbelievable how bad you are at driving a performance car. Stop posting. Cars with half your horsepower passed you.
The SCCA has a classing system based on the car, the modifications done to it and the tires. I ran Sport 2 (S2) which is a stock street car class on street tires (200+TW) See the rules here: timetrials.scca.com/pages/classmycar
Great lap! Question for you. I also have a 1LE. Are you flat through 12. I know I’m losing so much time there. I usually lift a little and am going like 104/105 on the apex.
When grip levels are good and I feel comfortable I stay flat through 12 in 4th gear, the fastest I have gone is 112mph. The trick is to place the car entirely over the curb on the inside, I try to ovoid using the exit curb.
@@maziyarebrahimi997 Yes, most of the time I am flat from the exit of T10 all the way into T1's braking zone. Depending on grip levels I might have to occasionally lift a bit entering T12
They were OK after ~3 laps, the issue I had were my hands freezing, I had to stop in the 1st session after 4laps... Driving with windows down in 29-32F weather was rough
