It is genuinely shocking to me, how much time they spent on the tiniest details in this game… like every blade of grass is in perfect detail….and then they neglected John like this… JOHN !!! Who was such a beloved character and everyone was so excited to have him back. Such a disgrace
not just his body but his personality is fcked up in rdr 2 epilogue , he acts like a awkward stuttering wimp around people and cant come with any words , i dont believe its growth as character but just f up from R*
the main reason i had mods was how unoriginal john was he's just arthur with a black hair with john's face put on with surgery along with his vocal cords and acts like he can't swim mods make it so you both get his animations and body shape
i never liked john's hair so don't really care abt that and the jet black hair looks far cooler and better than the brown hair. plus arthur is ripped so honestly im fine with the body type copy and pasted on john. still fucking sucks that they put so much little detail into john and his personality is a bit worse
"If rockstar cared about their fans" i think thats a very unfair thing to say. We are talking about one of the most detalied games any of us have ever played
Yes the individual developers that made all the details are great but we are talking about the overall whole company and rockstar doesnt care about their fans anymore. Just look at this video for example, if they would really care they would have updated the game and made john better but they just made him worse trough updates. Or look at red dead online
Don't think this was made to piss anyone off... Simple last minute finishing of a game on a hurry... Sorry the for the bad English. It is what it is, I also wish they would just had the time to finish the whole game properly and made the whole players enjoy 100% the maps, the story and all . But that's what it is and either way that game is still fantastic

no wonder, It just felt like I'm playing Arthur 2.0, I tried to make him look like him uk with just haircut and beard trim it still made me feel like nah he still doesn't look like Marston. Although, I won't be altering that with mods, it kinda just 'makes sense' why it felt weird playing as John in the epilogue...
Ruined: ❎️ Changed: ✅️ You mentioned things that aren't noticable or you just took a good image of NPC john and compared it to the worst possible image of playable john and most of these changes arent even noticable during gameplay I understand if you prefer NPC john I do too but dont act like "hes ruined" just because of a few minor problems

@@Bugplanet8840 I was never trying to act smart just stating that its not that big of a deal and didn't ruin the character and I also pointed out that it was very misleading for him to show two images one which was of considerably less quality and at a much worse angle as an example BABY!
Ok half if this stuff you can fix yourself without mods, yes i completely understand were your coming from, but john ep is ok its not ass its ok but the npc is way way better
Rockstar if you don’t wanna fix something you easily can, just ask modders if they can fix it and add it to a new patch. it’s that simple, no one cares about growing hair or 1 item clipping through other clothes man. Just give console players 1899 john.
You guys really want the Rockstar developers to redo all the models in all the cuts ceres and animations and all the facial expressions on a new model?
I can see thus on both sides. Pn one side fans really want john to look as he should be. On another hand, from rockstar adding new animations and voice lines for john is too much work. I guess so they stuck his face to arthurs body you have at the end of the game.
I’ll never understand why they just pasted Johns face on Arthur’s character model. They didn’t have to create an extra model, as they already had created John for the main story, all they had to do with fix the way to clothes, items, etc, fit on him. And also some animation changes. I know nothing about that kind of stuff but It doesn’t seem that hard, especially for a multi billion dollar company.
The animations could have been fixed easily since many of his rdr1 animations were in the game files and you could see some of the rdr1 animations in a mirror in first person

I haven't played the first one, but I really disliked the RDR2 epilogue because it doesn't add anything and actually ruins the impact of the ending of Arthur's story by cutting in abruptly.
i think it has something to do with the weight system. depending on your weight, it will change your entire body to underweight, overweight, athletic, etc. i think that they didn't have enough time to add every single body style and instead just opted to instead put john's face model onto arthur's and call it a day
