What's going on. My name is Cyle (Kyle). I've been working in the Powersports industry for about 25 years. I have worked in AMA pro Road race series with many different manufacturers. I was also one of the lead techs for the Triumph national service center here in America. On this channel you guys will find how to's, tutorials on motor builds, basic maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing electrical issues, and pretty much anything power sports. That would include Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Harley-Davidson, Polaris, Odes, Massimo, Coleman, vector, pretty much any aftermarket brand Powersports product also.

Great video!! Let me 1st say I am not a mechanic but I do like to tinker on things and learn. So, with that being said, I have a couple questions. When you first took the cover off you put a 10mm bolt in the secondary clutch.....what is the purpose of that (again, I am clueless...lol). I'm assuming it holds something in place. Next question, you didn't show actually replacing the one way bearing, so is that fairly simple or is there another video I can watch to see you do that? Thanks again for helping amateurs like me out. We gotta learn somewhere...lol.

The 6Mx1.00 bolt with the 10mm head was to spread the secondary clutch apart to give the belt slack so I could take it off. When it comes to the oneway bearing I should have multiple videos on how to replace it & the steps. I have a video that is just about the clutches also.

Do these things have an alternator? (Dumb question) Battery won't charge. Hook jumper cables up for. 5 hour, unhook jumper cables and machine instantly dies. No issues in the 1.5 year I've had it and now all of a sudden. Any ideas?

The charging system has a stator & a regulator/ rectifier. I have a video on how to test the charging system. It's the same test on all the models.

Kyle, I have a axis 500 it revs high sometimes like 2000 rpm's and want go in gears unless is around 1.400 rpm's any idea why? I run into a problem with it not starting a few months and replaced the spark plug, injector, fuel filter,fuel pressure was 45. It's never been in water and only has 100 hrs on it clean machine. I finally replaced the TPS and it fired right up I reset the ECU from your video. In viewing your videos I think the valve clearance is off because it sometimes spits back when you kill it. Can you tell me what the exhaust and intake cleanance is?Thanks, Tim

Hey time I believe the valve clearances are intake .005in & exhaust is .007 I know the older ones were .005 on both intake & exhaust.

Also check of air leaks. Double check cam timing also. Even tho it's new the do stretch the chain.

Were would the transmission speed sensor be located on a 2010 700 hisun utv 4x4?

I have a 2001 ktm250 exc that the clutch isn’t disengaging all the way when you put it in first it dies. I put new slave cylinder on it was leaking. It’s doing same thing it klunks real hard going into first. The clutches sound loud when you squeeze clutch it quiets down.

And if I try to pump clutch up to bleed it it squirts fluid out if I have the cover off the master cylinder

Yeah it will squirt back up through the master cylinder because it has a fluid return hole. So you have to slowly pump it are put the top back on. But yoy can always try to reverse bleed the slave cylinder to male sure all the air bubbles are out. But yoy may want to inspect the clutch if it's making noise like that.

The scanner I have is actually from Massimo. I know after 2017 all manufacturers have to be odbll compliant & you might be able to use a regular odbll scanner with the adapter to scan your unit.

I wouldn't say black oil is a clear indication that the oil needs changing... I drained my gsxr 1000 of oil must be near completely, tipped it side to side to get anymore oil out... Put amsoil in and within first start it already went near black, done about 100 miles and its pretty much black already and amsoil breaks down a lot less than other oils from tests ive seen on here

Great informative video. Question; I’m changing my one way bearing and as I am taking things apart I found the rollers out of their seat and heard them rattling inside. What makes those rollers come out of their seat? Thanks

They are a cheaper bearing & when you are slowing down on the de acceleration the bearings like to chatter in the spring that holds in place are very weak and they will come out. There is a fix for it by changing the spring that holds it in place and shortened it up a little bit so it's tighter

Question i did my wet clutch and both primary and secondary clutch along with belt and when u start it and go to putbit in gear it stalls out andbthe belt is tight if u rock it back and fourth it frees up but wil do it again once u start it and put it in gear

Hey Vinny it definitely sounds like you might install the one way bearing backwards. When you put the one-way bearing on did you have the numbers facing towards you and into the wet clutch drum? Because what you're describing is exactly what happens when you put the one way bearing in backwards on the wet clutch

Hello,According to the previous owner the alternator regulator and rectifier were replaced but .Error code 46 Appears on the display after around 45 minutes of driving, followed by the engine control light coming on and the on-board electronics failing. Among other things, the left indicator doesn't work. It flashes but isn't shown in the on-board instrument. The hazard warning lights flash continuously as soon as they are pressed. What could be the problem? Thanks

I had another guy tell me even after replacing both it still has the same problem & someone told hin to replace the starter solenoid & it cured his problem. Didn't make sense to me but he swears it did.

Ok, I have a Massimo 700. Doesn't wanna shift when it's running. Shut it of shifts no problem. I can sometimes get it to shift running by moving shifter beck and forth real fast then it will release. I'm thinking could clutches be dirty and not releasing.

Yeah it definitely sounds like a clutch issue it could be a wet clutch issue you need to check on also. But it's definitely a clutch issue you need to watch a few of my videos and I talked about how to check your clutches clean your clutches what to look for why they won't shift and when you replace stuff how it should operate properly

Hey I put a need transmission in my 2009 massimo 500 and now it doesn’t have low and when I put it in high or reverse it wants to take off. Do u think it would be a clutch issue or a transmission issue. Bc all the indicator lights come on the dash

Yes I did. The clutch drum on those year had a double spline you need to line up.

I currently don't have one in the shop that needs rear wheel bearings. But you will need to press them in & out. It's so much easier with a press.

I have a Colman Outfitter 800. It has a hisun 800 engine. It will run perfectly for a few miles then dash lights dies and engine dies simultaneously. Then I try turning the key on and off for a while and it will start back up when the dash lights back up and run fine for a while and then die again. Ecu or temp sensor?

I just put a new transmission in my massimo 500 and and put it all back together. Now it’s running hot and do you think it could be out of time. Because it get hot really quick

Timing has just a little bit of plat in how hot you're unit runs. That usually come from the cooling system not being bleed properly are the water pump possibly failing.

Any idea why if I set my valve heights to .005 I still get air partially blowing out of my intake? If I set them to .010 I get more power and less air blowing back??

Sounds like you may have a bent vavle. If you're getting blow back the means the valve isn't sealing properly ate you don't have timing correct

'03 Grizzly ... when I removed oil filter, there was no or very little oil in it. Any thoughts?

When was the last time you started the quad up? If they set for a long time, sometimes the oil filter doesn't stay full even tho is has a unit drain back valve in it.

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 It has been sitting for a while unused and not started. Is there a way to check it if oil pump is working? I was thinking about removing the filter, crank it and see if oil comes out out of oil tube where filter screws on.

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Problem solved. What happened is after running the atv for a while, I let it sit for 1 hr or so before draining the oil and replacing the filter. I guess oil drained back to crankcase and that is why when I removed the filter, there was no oil coming out. Today I ran it for about a minute, loosened the filter and oil was all over (like it should). It is all good now. Thanks.

I have the RK 550 96 hours on it.Timing chain is stretched and timing is off. Also noticed gas in my oil. Can timing cause this or should I bite the bullet and do a top end rebuild or can i get by with just a timing chain replacement

Well a topend depends. You need to do a compression check & a leak down test. Did your unit smoke? Also fuel in the oil could be due to the timing being off & the fuel just sitting on top of the piston & then running down into the crank case. Also a leaking fuel injector can cause that to happen too.

I've got a massimo 500 no crank issue. Not getting current to the solenoid. All fuse es are good, brake safety switch bypassed, good battery, all connections good. New fuse/relay box. Light on dash good, neutral switch good. No current to fuel pump. What am I overly ooking other than ecu?

I sure don't but just your basic metric tool set & bearing driver set & the right size flywheel puller, feeler gauge set for valve clearances, proper shim kit. I'm not sure what size flywheel puller you will need. You will have to measure that.

Great video. I’ve got a 2001 R6 that suddenly quit charging. Replaced rectifier and stator with Ricks Motorsports as many people recommended them highly. Stator is only getting 5v AC across all three legs. Bad stator or is it possible that the flywheel magneto is bad? I’m confused because the flywheel is smooth inside with no evidence of magnets or damage. All replacement flywheels I’m finding online look the same. Am I missing something?

Did you rev the engine to 5,000 rpms & check it then? 5vac is pretty darn low. It is a possibility that your rotor is going bad but it is very rare.

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394thanks for the fast response. Someone on the forums told me to change the starter solenoid and bet me $100 it was the problem. He was right and I am thankful 🙏. I don’t see the correlation between the solenoid and the charging system, but it was the culprit.

I find a good multimeters and i have 0.2Ω in hot bike to all outs ( white cabe) i put one old regulator from Yamaha rd 350 1985 and i can charger the battery... Of course i have the engine light on after 2000 ppm maube the volts is not correct and stable..i all ready order a new one

You should get around 0.2-0.5 ohm between all 3 wires & infinity are 0.0 from each wire to ground. Whe. Testing AC voltage output you want to rev the bike up to about 5,000 rpms & you should get at least 30-50 Vac

Here’s one for ya, I got a 500 and no crank over. I put a new battery in it, new solonid and fuses, new starter and still no crank. It’s actually getting power to the starter and still won’t crank!!!!! I even took the new starter out thinking my engine was locked but no I tried cranking it with the starter out but the starter still won’t turn even when it’s out????? I have power to all the accessories like lights, radio ect. Is there possibly a sensor or the coil that would be doing this??? Thanks.

So you checked with a test light & when you turn the key to the starting position not the run position you are getting 12vdc on the wire that is connected to the starter it self? Have you tried direct power to the start & see if it turns over? I have got bad starters & starter solenoids brand new before.

Now I’m getting no power to the starter like originally, I have not one time had it cranked over yet after putting all the new parts in it. So I ordered another solonid now, the brand new starter does work because I had it going with a battery charger. I also ordered a regulator with the 2nd solonid, figure that couldn’t hurt to change too I’m just confused on what exactly happened after putting new battery, solonid and starter in why the new solonid would fry after it was saying I had proper power to everything? I’m super confused on this one, the relays next to the battery wouldn’t be causing these issues would they?

@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Iiterlay have the floorboards, doors, seats, center console all out making sure wires and the wiring harness is ok, lol it’s driving me bananas as I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined. I know I’m getting frustrated but maybe did I not hook up the 2 smaller wires on the correct pole on the solonid? I hooked both smaller wires on the positive pole on the solenoid not even sure if that even matters but hey I’m spitballing everything right now. Thanks again for your time

Lol you I realized that after the fact 😆. I'm so use to having to take then out on so many other models it becomes habit.
