This is perhaps who is the perfect combination of a par excellence as a performer, Guru, Human , in righteousness( all thru his life)and a thinker. A vv rare musician and human being. His ideas , Shruthi sense, laya sense the beauty in the gamakas are not from this earthly realm. The only other musician with all this and more is pujyashri k.v.narayanaswamy. My heartfelt thanks for this precious gem of a dharmathi❤❤❤❤❤❤

Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer is a Maestro ❤ Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer was awarded the prestigious Sangeetha Kalanidhi title in 1947, making him one of the youngest recipients at the time. The Sangeetha Kalanidhi is considered the highest honor in Carnatic music, awarded annually by the Madras Music Academy to a distinguished musician. This recognition was a major milestone in Semmangudi's illustrious career and cemented his position as one of the most important figures in the Carnatic music world. His receipt of the award is particularly significant because of the profound influence he had on the development of the art form and his role in shaping its future, both through his own performances and his mentoring of future generations of musicians. Semmangudi's contributions to Carnatic music are often viewed as unparalleled, and his receipt of the Sangeetha Kalanidhi honor in 1947 was a fitting acknowledgment of his immense talent, dedication, and influence in the field. Key Highlights: Early Life and Training: Born in Tirukkodikaval, Tamil Nadu, he was trained under several gurus, including T. S. Sabesa Iyer and Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer. His rigorous training shaped him into a master of the classical style. Career and Style: Semmangudi was known for his mastery of complex ragas and kritis. His style was traditional and emotionally powerful, marked by a unique voice that, though often described as hoarse, was able to express a wide range of emotions and depths. Role as a Teacher: He was a dedicated teacher and mentor, grooming several leading Carnatic musicians, such as M. S. Subbulakshmi, T. M. Krishna, and his own nephew T. N. Krishnan (violinist). His teaching methods and interpretations have left a lasting legacy. Awards and Recognition: Semmangudi received numerous awards, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, the Padma Bhushan (1972), and the Padma Vibhushan (1998), which are among India's highest civilian honors. Institutional Contributions: He also served as the principal of the Swathi Thirunal College of Music in Kerala, where he played a significant role in shaping the curriculum and training future generations. Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer's contribution to Carnatic music is not just limited to his performances but extends to his teaching, which continues to influence Carnatic musicians today.

Excellent rendition by Sangeetha Kalanidhi.🙏 Most of the Artists omit the phrase "Gurude Uthamagati"., appearing after "Gurude Bhadrudu"- Any reason?. In a few other kritis too (of the Trinity) even one full line is omitted often.?

" KOLAPURESWARI BAGESREE " in raga Bagesree, is composed by Lalitha dasar; Many songs of Laitha dasar ( real name - T.G.Krishna Iyer of Tripunithura, Ernakulam in whose house, Chembai swamy stayed for decades ) were popularised only Chembai. I have written about him while commenting a post/share on the song- Varijadala Lochani - Arabhi , in mid August,2020 . I have no idea how the name Sitharama Sastry appeared here.( may be the famous Lyricist in Telugu Films - Chembolu Seetharama Sastry known popularly as Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry ?? Probably this song adopted into or muted with any songs penned by him? OR a different Sitharama Sastry who may be a family member or friend of Lalitha dasar who released the kriti ?!

Concluding Pallavi is not Thodi and it's Kalyaana Vasantham. Also not alone Thodi was sung. But it's a mix of Raagamaligaa. Hence the title should not be RTP Thodi. Kindly check and update please.
