This song is like a sequel to wicked puppet dance on god’s country lyrically. I’m so ready for this record to come out tonight. The LP I ordered came early so I got to listen to it all the way through but I want to be able to listen to it everywhere haha it’s definitely gonna be my AOTY.
If you read chat piles lyrics, you'll realise they aren't just silly. They're actually dark as fuck lol Like grimace smoking weed.jpeg, it's not a silly song about grimace 😂😂
Next porter puts out a shitty SoundCloud rap album because thats super nostalgic and new! Anytime porter opens his mouth the song suffers, if the acoustic version of a song sounds bad you made a bad song
@@Valaskjoldthey literally said, and clarified, they’re not influenced by nu-metal, but Korn. So like. The first album, maybe the second to some degree. Which makes sense bc Korn was influenced by Godflesh, which you hear in Chat Pile.
Really wish he'd played Russian Roulette too. The song, not the game. It has a beautiful bridge and explosive final stretch, and its take on "clichés" and why you shouldn't immediately dismiss something the moment you realize it is a cliché, is interesting. Really touching song, and the final few seconds are both profound and funny.
"2 be serious" Translation of this particular chatter: YOU'RE ALL LYING ABOUT LIKING THIS SONG, I HATE IT SO YOU ALL MUST SECRETLY HATE IT TOO, bE SeRiOuS, STOP LIKING THINGS I DON'T LIKE YOU'RE LYING MUSIC IS OBJECTIVE REEEEEEE
I don't get the comments in these stream uploads about the "Cancerous" chat. It's a music reviewer's stream. Plus every poll is overwhelmingly positive
@@samjensen3969lol don’t worry I thought the same thing the first few times I saw these videos. Glad to know the comment section isn’t only haters haha
Those people that are in the chat every single time fantanon streams are so annoying. 10 seconds into the stream and they're competing like rats for the snarkiest quip.
The collective IQ of some of these guys is insane a comment saying ""just stop being depressed" type music" is such a clinically insane comment to make, that's the EXACT opposite of what Porter is trying to get across with music that DOES touch on suicide and depression like Russian Roulette
@@RAHRAHRAKA This is a really one dimensional thing to say, this would make arguably most artists of any age older than 25 now bad because they’re nostalgic. What’s wrong with being nostalgic? He had one song actually referencing music from that time, and he even joked about how Nostalgia kills. It’s really obvious you did not listen to the music lmao. Besides a lot of this music is about career suicide, less of actual depression, even then, you don’t just tell a depressed person to immediately go get therapy, getting therapy is so much harder than you think and it shows lol
@@BM-ek4tn bro genuinely stfu LOL peddling nostalgia has been pop culture for years are you joking? 2024 and were still making bbq sad boy songs about how life was better "back then". Its bland, uninspiring, every song sounds the same, the lyrics fucking suck, the music has next to no dynamism, it sounds like shit hes made before but worse. i literally had to go back and relisten to nurture because i didnt know if his music always sucked like this (it didnt), this album just blows. the nicest thing i can say about it is that its short
@RAHRAHRAKA 2 things. Therapy is complex and not cheap. Also we could just say take anti depressants and we're all fixed. It doesn't work that way bud. "If only"
@@thatkidyoshi so would u agree people who relate to this album are maladjusted depressed ppl who cling to the past way too much regardless, my argument with this album is that its inauthentic slop, its sad boy cosplay before its anything that actually speaks to something.
On the singles that Fantano reviewed, his chat was being horrendous but on these songs, they were being fairly reasonable so idk what people in this comment section are taking about lol
I know I'm being a bit hyperbolic in saying this, but I genuinely feel like I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed "Year of the Cup"--I really loved the sentiment behind the Lil Wayne interview and the little back-and-forth between Porter's lyrics and the sample throughout the entirety of the track.
It’s turning into a fav of mine. The instrumental is one of my favs of the album, some of his best writing ever and that Lil Wayne sample plays into the fun, meme culture/commentary that remains in the background of the album whilst still conveying a message of someone suffering from self destruction
The song broke my heart. The line where he said “f you, you don’t deserve me” when what he wanted to say was “Help me”… reminds me of all the times I argue with my loved ones and my wife and it’s so true. Hurt people hurt people.
