Thanks for the video and the location of the slugs. I never knew that speed shoes worked on gears or I can't remember if I equipped them but never noticed.
You have to interact with the Sofa in Josette's room. If for some reason the in-game save doesn't work, use the emulator save states (assuming you're on emulator, which you probably are)
This will be interesting. I never knew you can get a drop from Hammer in that battle. I presume with the trader card, you'll be able to sell things at a better price?
The Trader Card forces enemies to drop thier first item in thier drop list. iirc there are two enemies which have one item in thier drop list as a 0% chance. One is the "superboss" of the game that I fight in ep.85 and a slug enemy in the world map in the end game. The Trader Card is the only way to get their drops. It's also useful to farm gropus of enemies and sell their drops for cash. The only moment where it's not convenient to have it, is that if you are a completionist and are farming the desert dragon in the end game. That dragon can drop multiple "ultimate" weapons but with the Trader Card you will only ever see the first on his drop list.
@theFado96 Thanks for the info. I was reading about the Trading card on Neoseeker, who someone mentioned Graf drops the Slayer Robe if you happen to defeat him and have the Trader Card equipped. I'll have to do this as I've completed the game a few times since it was released, and thought I had every rare drop and did all the secrets.
What do I do in the Mystia Slums? The door with the red arrow over it won't open. I've already picked up "Magnetic Key B" or something, but it won't open. I assume that's not the right key, but I've looked EVERYWHERE before that door and can't find anything. I've pressed Z on it and everything. Also, Horus takes damage EVERY turn in this location and I have no idea why. He has no status effects and I can't use anything to make it stop. It's making it such a pain to just get to the door I'm talking about.
Yeah, I was doing pretty much everything to do the most amount of damage: Curse on the boss, Earth enchantment on Ashley, piercing weapon and Gnome Bracelet for even more earth.
@@theFado96 yeah im playing along. And l lost my dragon spear mixing it with my beast one plus other spear upgrade. But often i do boss my way before seeing how you do but hardest boss let alone a dragon 75 damage is wild. I remember as kid that white wyvern i never been able to beat.

I was so crushed when this game was removed from the Mac App Store which I had bought. It stopped working on my Mac and started to glitch. I also had Mansionscapes (which also has a dreaded mobile version now). I tried to get this game again for years for my Mac but finally found it on the 3DS eshop before it closed! It made me so happy! Not as great of the version as the computer but still very good. Sad they didn’t make Mansionscspes on 3DS. I’m so glad you talked about the new game and how it was not as good! I was starting to get sad that no one knew anything about the old game. It was starting to break my heart that I felt I was the only to feel this way about this game, but you restored my faith that I’m not the only one to feel like this. Thanks for making me day!
Thanks a lot; this is one of my favorite games of this genre, with the Mortimer Beckett games coming in close. I did play the second game where you have to fix the inside of the house, but to this day I've never finished it.
I just like to point out, there there is a room on the far right of the room you entered, next to some crates, and a elevated platform that glides across the room. The machine in there explains how to imput the codes and it gives you all three codes.
At 24:54, according to the official strategy guide, there's Extra AR +6 in the fan pit. I came to look at your vid to see if you located it. I can't find it either. I've fallen in the hole numerous times at different points.
We will explore the Tames. I'm sorry mate, but it's pronounced as Tems. We have a famous river in London, called the River Thames. Why do we spell it opposite to what the letter says? Who knows. A bit like Derbyshire. It's not pronounced as you think it is. It's, wait for it; Darby-cher. Leicestershire is even worse, lol. Lester-cher. Anyway, the card game. Easy, up until Queenie....
Queenie is so damn fast. I managed to get the first one of one try, the 2nd one on the 2nd try and Queenie, well, the closest I've got is 1 card from the end.
You can get a Deathblower1 if you beat Queenie on the game Speed on the Thames. She's the woman standing on a bunch of crates on the deck (where you start the area). She won't play with you unless you play at least one extra person on the Thames, I believe; so you can either play a kid in the storage area or a man in a corner in the Beer Hall.
I loved this dungeon when I played the game on my psx, not because of the platforming etc, but because its exploring a ruin structure that's 10,000 years old. Trying to play this last night just as I was going to bed, and kept falling off the arm, I decided kip was more important than trying to reach the save point up ahead.
I agree, the atmosphere in this dungeon in great, the platforming is unfortunately janky at times. The one saving grace is that (at least in the first section) all battles are scripted and tied to certain zones on the floor; and once you trigger one you can't trigger it again, making backtracking less of an hassle.
something that annoys me is you can't tell Briggs to take the ship to the madrans, since the money he paid for it was stolen from them, and even he agreed that the ship was theirs by right since it was paid for with madran money. Like, we certainly aren't here to help the dickhead alhafran mayor, but the madrans are cool and they should get the boat since it's repaired now and usable, and briggs stole both the money to pay for the boat and then the boat itself
i'm pretty sure there is a mint under the leaves near the exit that leads to the place with the jupiter djinn, I think it's the bottom or bottom left leaf?
the kibombo mountains was one of the areas that was neat to see there being an alternate path to show how piers got though on his own, something that's nice given so many other areas just have no explanation for how people got there despite the traps and everything else still being set and active Also-this is the part where kraden confirms that he was put in vale to try and unleash alchemy, meaning he is *directly responsible* for everything that happens in both games since he's the one that kept pushing until things kicked off with the stars being stolen, something he only failed in because saturos's crew stole them from him before isaac could get them all

Most of those other things you mentioned just move their body around for defense or camouflage, the only thing that comes close is the caterpillar to butterfly connection but even that isn't quite the same since it's a one way trip for caterpillars and they don't change species. Werewolves do change species, and given that there was concern of it being able to be passed by being bitten, it's closer to some kind of magical disease than a natural phenomenon Sheba is very smart, able to help the puzzled scholars figure out the puzzle.
probably what makes air's rock so irritating is that it's basically 2 full dungeons stacked on top of each other, one after another. And there's not much actually happening in there aside from tons of backtracking and going back and forth in a place that has lots of looping paths

Jenna pointing out the obvious-that they should have TALKED with Isaac long, *long* before things got this far. Saturos and Menardi have nothing to lose and everything to gain-they think they can easily kill Isaac and company, so why not seek them out and talk to them and see if they can recruit them to their cause by explaining it? Even if they fail, they'd be able to easily kill Isaac or escape, as far as they're concerned, but otherwise they'd have gained extremely powerful and capable allies in the form of Isaac and company, and no longer be a race against time with a party of people trying to hunt them down and stop them Jenna's battle theme is my favorite of the 3, such a shame you don't hear it much or for very long
yeah, saying no to 'give us the rod!' is the correct choice. They've already proven multiple times that they can't be trusted and they'll break their word immediately after getting what they want-see the entire reason jenna and kraden are still with them, and now this crap with sheba and them breaking their word on that too. They simply cannot be trusted-they would take the rod, then keep Sheba anyways, and also try to kill Isaac and friends-which is exactly what happens It always irritated me that neither Felix nor anyone else actually bloody gave the reason why they were lighting the beacons, rather just "Cause we want to bwahaha!" If they just said 'because we're trying to save the world, which is dying from lack of alchemy' even if isaac and the others didn't believe them at the time, they would at least have that in mind while continuing to pursue felix's party. Especially because there was several chances there for felix to say *anything* there aside from 'there's no point in talking or telling you', which is the absolute stupidest thing he could say at that point
isn't sheba said/revealed to be from anemos/the moon? The place where the sky people lifted their entire city and left a massive crater in the ground that you find before jupiter lighthouse in GS2
wow, garet being the voice of reason? The sky must be purple today or something. Still, he's definitely right, and hammet and the others and being really, really dumb about dodonpa, especially since he *literally just tried to kill them from behind* , let alone setting the monster on them to kill them, and kidnapping hammet in the first place. I would have kept the elven shirt, even if you don't plan to use it for now. Having 1.5x agility is incredible to be able to give to a particular party member for turn manipulation Something curious about the djinn in lunpa is that donpa said he fought it long ago, but the djinn were only released back into the world like a couple weeks/months ago when aleph erupted and the psystones rained out
heh, nice to see the early crossbone isle visit. That ones always pretty wild to see, but a nice opportunity to get some treasure much earlier than normally intended. I don't think you can get very far though, only like floor 2 or 3 since you are missing spells needed...I think the one that's the roadblock is needing the cloak spell? I don't remember if you can reach bane or not this early, but it would be the biggest prize of the lot if you can-just looked it up, and bane is on floor 6, but you're stopped at floor 4 because of not having the cloak spell, so unfortunately no early bane. Still, some other early consumable and power up items are nice, and a few extra minibosses for more exp, along with the mystery blade as a pretty powerful weapon for this point of the game, so it is worth the trip if you can manage it edit-oh, there's also the fairy ring there, which is more useful than I initially thought-it's a usable ring like the healing ring, healing in battle debuffs like elixirs do, but it also cures the death curse, which I think is a lot harder to come by a cure for
Huh, didn't know about the Healing Ring healing death curse. Things is, by then I already have Eddy from Lunpa and if I get hit by that status I usually just use him to heal it.
@@theFado96 yeah, it's more useful if you get it the first possible visit when crossing the sea by boat since it's the first thing you can get that can cure that status, and it's reusable, but if you get it the 'normal' way via the second desert then you've probably got the djinn from lunpa which makes it....not entirely useful, but mostly obsolete, though I suppose it can be nice to have as a backup option if you want your djinn setup to remain untouched for class reasons or your healer is downed/stunned or something, or you need them to attack/maintain pressure on enemies with summons and whatnot so you can use someone like garet whose turns don't matter as much for it Also-it's the fairy ring that heals status, not the healing ring. The healing ring is...an ok option for giving to garet or ivan if you need quick healing and isaac is healing someone else, but it becomes pretty obsolete pretty quickly
Hsu, Hsu, there are you. Always sad to see people miss saving him, since it's such a pretty short window to actually do his event, and it requires backtracking when you wouldn't necessarily think to do it
dark dawn is decent enough fun, but I really hate how they did things, with there not being just one, but like 2 or 3 full on points of no return where they cut off access to all prior areas, meaning so many things are permanently missable. Himi comes so late too...wish she joined earlier so you could use the first earth caster adept that we get access to, but she's basically only there for the end game and optional super dungeons That fire next to the ice pillar-it feels like something should be there, and it looked like there was a path to it from the right, but you'd need the douse drop, which comes after the temple in that stupid forest maze with the apes, so it's quite a back track to get back to here, though I suppose you could combine it as a return trip to get another batch of hermes water after you heal tret since you can actually use it as a potion for a full heal, though to restock it you have to return to mercury lighthouse. Edit-checked the wikia thing and it says you need not only the douse droplet, you also need reveal to even access that area. So you come back after crossing that desert, use reveal at the elven rapier chest to go past that wall, then use douse on the flame from above and the water will freeze and open the way to 2 chests with a water of life and psy crystal in them
Yeah, if I ever get to Dark Dawn I'll have to make sure I don't miss any of those points of no return. I did miss a djinn on my first run of DD, but got it back through a glitch that lets you return to -some- old areas.
psy crystals and waters of life are stuff that are good to hold onto for boss battles in case someone bites the dust during the battle and you want an instant revive and no one has access to the revive spell and you don't want to take a risk on a chance of revival via djinn like quartz. Psy crystals are best for during boss battles, or right before boss battles to top off ivan or mia's PP so they can do full caster support during the battle
You hardly need to use Psy Crystal out of battle anyway since PP restores fast enough by just walking. The one dungeon it comes to mind where one could be actually useful is Gaia's Rock, when you have to spam Growth to reveal the path to the boss. Usually you get to the end with very little PP left and running around the boss room to recover them takes quite a while.
I'd forgotten reading laurel's mind actually showed the thing about needing to visit the mercury lighthouse to get the healing waters for tret. So it isn't quite as directionless as I thought, though not everyone will think to read laurel's mind, nor that that is even an option
honestly the lord isn't that bad a guy-he isn't blindly willing to sent seemingly willing but weak people to their presumed deaths just to try and solve a problem he helped cause. He's really underestimating isaac and company, but it still speaks of his character that he doesn't send them off to die or on a fool's errand
on this episode of 'kraden makes everything worse', his interference and prodding cause the end of the world! Seriously though-there are like 3 or 4 different points at least where it is his interference and insistence that makes things go wrong-first with going to sol sanctum in the first place, then on insisting you continue to explore, then insisting yet again that you simply *must* find the secret behind the heart of sol sanctum in the sun and moon rooms rather than go back to the village and warn them about saturos and menardi, then the stupidity of him demanding you steal the elemental stars for him so he can 'study' them. 11 min-I think you can go past level 5 in this sol sanctum, I think it's just that jenna gets no extra psynergy past level 5, so even as isaac and garet would continue to learn new spells, she would be stuck with whatever she had by level 5 28 min-no, I agree, kraden is extremely suspicious and shady in general. He may claim to want to just 'study' the stars, but later on you find that's a lie, or at least not the entire truth. His entire quest and study was starting because of babi, and he wanted to find the elemental stars and secret of alchemy and lemuria to help extend babi's life, as well as his own. He's definitely the type to just start with 'innocent experimentation' but then keep going way past the point of where he should have stopped and end up unleashing catastrophe, or going mad with power and lording it over everyone like alex does. 35 min-I distinctly loathe and am jealous of alex having cutscene magic power BS that lets him float, fly, and teleport. Seriously-why is that not something you get access to? Hover doesn't really cut it, and the teleport stone is in the literal last dungeon of GS2 and only warps to towns, not full range like alex seems to have 42 min-this has to be one of the longest lasting foreshadowing/chekov's gun in the entire series-right at the start of GS1 there's a little thing here that's easy to ignore or forget, but you find out what happened waaaaaay at the end of GS2, in the epilogue cutscene itself. 46 min "Tell us exactly what happened on the mountain" - "So then we cast quake, flare, and fire to take down yet another batch of monsters, looting a few spare coins from them." "....ok, maybe not EVERYTHING that happened on the mountain." 58 min -"Say one final farewell everyone! Now GET OUT!"
ah, golden sun 1 and 2, the games where garet makes everything worse. And GS 3 has his son tyrel continue his legacy of messing everything up. Can't forget (dis)honorable mention for kraden kicking this whole thing off with his insisting they go see the sol sanctum, then go get explore everything, then go get the stars so he can steal-I mean 'study' them, then the whole clustermess of the volcano going off. More seriously-neat to see a complete LP of GS1 and 2, been wanting to see another of these LPs for a while, and it'll be nice to see one, especially one that aims for close to 100% (setting aside some dumb RNG drop stuff)
I have a save file somewhere where I got most of the rare drops, on this series I only got some of them: I got a sword in Venus Lighthouse and I got the Riot Gloves in the second game. iirc I also get 1-2 rare drops without trying in GS2.
