Founded in 1898, Broom Boats of Brundall, is one of the oldest boat yards on the Norfolk and South Broads. We have both Broom Marine Services which includes our service centre and repair workshops where we maintain all different makes and models of boat. We also deal with transportation and boat lifting, owning the largest boat hoist on the Southern Broads we are able to lift a huge 45 tonne. The other arm to our business is Broom Holidays, this includes our range of 24 luxury hire boats available to hire from our marina in Brundall, there really is no better way to spend a week on the Norfolk Broads National Park.

I’m considering hiring a Skipper or Captain for a week in May 2022. I hold an RYA Intermediate Powerboat qualification, would I be able cope with one of these boats single handed as I will be travelling alone? Thank you. Mark
Good afternoon Mark, with your existing qualifications were sure you would take to it very easily. They are very easy to drive and as you can see from our trail run online video, we go through every element of the boat thoroughly and take you for a drive before departure. We will never let a customer leave to explore the Broads before they are completely comfortable with their boat and how to operate it, so even if you don't pick it up quickly, rest assured you will feel happy and confident before you depart our basin. In regards to being alone, the only time when this could be a disadvantage would be when mooring up as there would be no one to jump off the boat to tie the back rope, however people on the Norfolk Broads are incredibly helpful and friendly and will be willing to help if you do have any difficulties with this, however if you take your time and think ahead before mooring you will be fine.
