Bruh if people keep doing this UP may choose to stop running steam. This is a privilege to us fans, not a right, and UP has the choice to keep running or not. PS I really wonder what's going through people's heads. Fifteen seconds from death.
People who give RR engineers ulcers and heart attacks. Too many people have been killed just standing too close to the tracks, the engineer not knowing if they will move, or if they don't move because they actually don't know the train is coming.
This guy standing on the track was messed up by himself in front of Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy was moving. That guy was made a mistake for standing on the tracks
This is so stupid… There are proper places to watch trains, there are probably places where there are level crossings where the foamer could stand safely outside the right of way to take a picture, and if you have a brain, you can take head on pictures of the train by finding a curve somewhere. Geez!
A friend who’s an engineer keeps a sealed water bottle from the cab cooler at the ready. When trackside idiots deliberately play these kind of games, he opens the bottle, and with it still full, chucks it at the offender.
I would've probably done something like this. It is just mesmerizing to see the Big Boy or any massive steam locomotive in action. I live in nj and I might be planning a dual purpose trip to Kansas. 1. to see Big Boy #4014 and 2. to drop off my MTH 1 Gauge Challenger #3967 to have Ray of Ray's Electric Trainworks do a PS3 upgrade to it. I love the G scale model trains and it's such a shame they didn't rescue and restore a Challenger. It would be nice to see all these giant steam locomotives making rounds all over the US.
He ain't the only one that is too close to the tracks, although in the middle is stupidest of stupid I suspect he isn't an actual railfan. He probably thinks of himself as a "content creator" hoping to get big views online with the video he's taking.
The idiot has no idea how fast that big boy is traveling, facing the train on the tracks. Engineer just can’t stop the train that big on a dime, but they stand there to get that one special picture or video. If you watched him as he moved away, he slipped up the ballast. This is from an engineer who worked for U.P for 30 years and have some stupid by foamers near tracks.🚂🚂
Ed Dickens was at the throttle when UP 844 struck and killed a female spectator near Denver in 2018. I'm sure that this moron caused Ed to live through that day all over again. How can people be so damn clueless?
@@davecrupel2817 No shit Sherlock , and everybody who has one thinks they are gods gift to photography . Usually they are knuckle draggers like these guys !! Like I said , this hobby has gone to shit account of camera phones . No thought as to set ups for quality shots , just grab shots at crossings and barging in at the last second at locations I have been set up at for a half hour . Running in front of my tripod with their fat lazy butts, talking an RUINING my carefully set up shot. Men , women , kids , anybody with a phone.....
The reality is that my iPhone 15 Pro Max takes far better pictures than my Nikon. The Nikon has the zoom advantage, but the pictures and video look dull in comparison. I shot my video at a safe distance. The guy in this video is ruining it for the rest of it.
Forget the 25' rule. What about trespassing on railroad right-of-way? I put a static cam at the edge of the ballast for my 360° video, but I was 50' away when she passed. Trust me, we have the same foamers in storm chasing. Let's just stand in front of the violent wedge tornado that is a mile away and is tearing up land at a mile a minute. Man, I wish I had a V8 🍅 🫗
@@WX1013Productions just about everyone stands on the track when a stupid steam engine comes. Wether it's to get a picture or put coins on the track, it's always happening. Most people end up moving well before the train gets to them and that's completely fine. Standing right in the gauge for as long as he did isn't okay.
