you all were lucky, when I saw him in a small theater in palm Beach, he was so drunk he couldn't remember lyrics and stumbled on the guitar. I was in front row w my then wife, and for years I had to be reminded by her about it. It may not have been so terrible if he didn't keep repeating parts of one song over and over until I couldn't take it anymore, and walked out. Finally, I get to vent about the worst music show of my entire life, until Dylan performed at Broward Center in FLL
1976, Olympia, Washington. I was in an argument with my then boyfriend. Raining HARD. I got out of the car at the light. Because of the rain, I ducked into the first open business I found. Lil corner bar. Maybe 20 people. He was on stage. This was my first experience hearing him. Pure fascination and awe. My friend found me. We stayed until he finished playing. Created a much better atmosphere ❤
I have NO idea what he played, but in the first season or two he was on SNL, and I still remember seeing him to this day. He was such a cool, and unique guy I couldn't help by be impressed by his style. 50 plus years later I still love his vocals, and music.
Great look into the musical history of America. Love Annette Hanshaw.. The black face guys were funny as hell. The present PC police would hate it, but those were seemingly better days for America.
Yea joe biden said if you are black and dont vote for him you ain't black, well i guess these guys will have to vote for joe, this is definitely a time peice, just amazing how joe Biden didnt change with the times.
For a while there I thought we might be spared the annoying applause that clutters up the instrumental breaks on so many programs. No such luck, but at least it wasn't enough to spoil the performance. Thanks for posting.
We caught Leon Redbone at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, mid 90s. We dropped a few bourbon shots at a bar across the street first, and settled in to a great, unforgettable concert. Redbone was a one off.
