Quick question, when the enemy villagers were attacking your hero, why didn't you lead them to your TC to die? Or lead them to your army to be killed? You just led them back and let him die.
Great video. I am trying to win on Hard with Thor now. I thought when using Thor you can just use dwarfs on food/wood as well as the gather rate is m trying to win on Hard with Thor. I thought when playing Thor you can just use dwarfs on food/wood as well as the gather rate is same as villagers. Or is it not true?
Normal gatherers train in 14 seconds and cost 50 food while dwarves train in 16 seconds and cost 60 gold. Since they both gather wood and food around the same rate it's better to use normal gatherers. If you are in the mid game and you are getting too much gold don't be afraid to put some dwarves onto other resources, or if you are struggling with getting enough food to train gatherers you can instead train dwarves.
any tips how to set enemies on single player game? I play 1vs5, set them all on defenders, but as soon as I start to play, lets say in less than 10 mins I have enemies in front of my gates :D I started playing again and just wanna enjoy the game, build up an army and some building as well and fight later -_-
Unfortunately there isn't really a good solution to that. Setting enemies on easy difficult will make it so they won't ever attack while setting to moderate difficulty will make them attack around 10 minutes. I haven't played around with the different playstyle settings so unfortunately I can't help you with that.
Yep, farms cost a lot and villagers farm quite slowly compared to hunting. 5 less farms might equal 4 more units in a fight which can be a big deal especially early in the game. One important point is that if your opponent is aggressive and you don't have much safe food next to your town centers then you will need to farm transition quite early (around 6 minutes maybe).
Well played! Though, I can't understand how you did not face any big group of enemy military. In my game, even if I attack first, I come across a large group of the enemy :/ After that, things get out of control and the AI makes my life a misery.
It is certainly a hard match up because axemen are just such strong counters to hersir. If you see them making a lot of axemen you will need to start making raiding cavalry. A second problem is when they roc drop. There is no good counter to these except trying to build a tower or have some throwing axemen/troll to kill the roc. The main game plan is to hit a timing with flaming weapons and if that doesn't work you try to win with hel fire giants. I might make a guide on it but for now you can watch this video by boit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k70nEnsNw1Y.html
@@victorgg4170 ty for the answer! regarding the flaming weapon timing, is it better to go in the beginning for 2 tc or go fh 1 tc and mass army? if youre on discord maybe you can give some tips one day if youre free !!
@@isabixisabix7052 On discord I am Victor#5953. Regarding the flaming weapons push you typically want to do a 1 tc semi fh with around 10 hersir before saving up for heroic. These hersir let you get some favor to train battle boars which are important for pushing. Honestly I haven't played the match up much so I would need to play a it a few more times to say more specific stuff. Something which I have done a few times is getting a hillfort and training bogsvigir since they cover a lot of the weaknesses of loki such as rocs, axemen, and can snipe priests. Jarls are also a good unit to train from a hillfort. Once you are mythic you can even train ballista. Keep in mind that nidhogg dies really fast to a group of priests so it is better to use it where there aren't many of them. Feel free to message me on discord and maybe we could do some practice games or something.
Very nice guide, I have it for me now as a reference on my skills, I'll try to improve my strategy to reach your time achievments :D Thanks for the video, and I would like to ask you what do you think about saving the gold mine power to the late game, what do you think about it ? Is it worth it ?
Saving the gold mine makes you lose resources early game but provides you with safe gold for either later in classic age or in later stages of the game. I personally like to get value immediately where I can then train more troops to get even more value. Saving the goldmine can be important for some match ups like vs Zeus where they will often try to gold starve you and you want the extra gold to go heroic before moving out to a second gold mine. Either way, under 2.1k rated I think it is probably easiest to use it right away since the build is easier and you want to get units out to defend your hunt since that is a major weakness for Thor.
Dwarves cost more resources and take 2 seconds longer to train. There is also the fact that they cost gold so your starting gold mine will run out faster leaving you having to mine outside of your base exposed to enemy attacks.
Hey! Thanks for the guide - you provided some really nice insight into the matchup. was wondering if you or someone else could detail the benefits of Hekate over Helios and when to go helios (if ever) - would be much appreciated. :)
Hekate is almost always the choice because you need a strong counter to Colosus and Tartarian gate will give you more value than vortex. Personally I never go Helios in almost any match up besides vs Gaia simply because you can gain so much value from Tartarian gate right away. Heka Gigantes are some of the strongest siege units in the game but they are incredibly slow so they will often get picked off by heroes before they get much value. Mirror towers look cool and all, but they aren't much better than regular towers if you have some of the upgrades. Generally Atty late game is terrible and so you want to try and win in early mythic. Hopefully that helps :)
